    Hi Denise I thought this stitch would make a nice hat; unfortunately, I did not make adjustments to your directions, so my hat made a spiral design instead. I learned my lesson, in the round it is only a two stitch pattern. I will try it again. The stitch is beautiful. Thank you for your video.

    I really like this stitch. Thanks so much for sharing. Can I share a twist to doing this stitch. I use a Martha Stewart Loom. I tried several times to lift the yarn off and place my yarn behind the peg and then return the yarn. Well I just made a mess of the yarn and it was taking forever to get even one row finished. So hers my twist. Martha Stewart looms pegs are not attached. So I simply e-wraped a stitch then raised the next peg slipped my yarn behind the peg, replaced the peg and then e-wraped the next peg. Super fast and same results.! No trying to find the eye of the loop and pulling it apart from those of us who don't have The best eye sight anymore. I use it as a strip between colors and it really adds a pretty design element on large projects.

    I have the Martha Stewart loom kit. It has the small closer pegs like this loom and I love that, but all the patterns out there are for the other standard looms with the larger more spaced pegs, so i cant follow those exactly peg for peg, or the final product is smaller than expected. I do succeed in altering some patterns, but it sure would be nice if there were more patters out there that i could just use as written. Will you be making more patterns for this loom? Oh, and i loooooove your channel. I look around you tube for patterns and ideas and always end up back here. I love that you put the direction on the screen.other ladies you have to listen to the go on to get the pattern. And when I do listen to yours it flows well,to the point and easy to follow. Excellent job.

    When you knit off i.e. row 2 (at 1:57) it looks like you are knitting left to right. But when you are on row 3 it looks like you are going left to right again. Wouldn't it be right to left as that is where your knit row ended up?

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  8 років тому

    Does this stitch pattern keep the final product from curling?

  • @vegangelist
    @vegangelist 9 років тому

    Have you compared using the different knit stitches for this stitch pattern? That is to say, is the e-wrap preferred (for some particular reason) over the u-wrap, flat or traditional knit, specifically or is the e-wrap just the only way you've done it?
    Inquiring (analytical) minds want to know :)

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  9 років тому +2

      vegangelist Hey - I always love your questions - Yes I did test them.. In fact, this pattern was a translation by Lisa Clarke. However she uses the Flat Knit - I didn't like the way it looks with worsted weight yarn. I found the e-wrap more defined plus the work went faster and beginners could handle it better. Here is the post so you can see Lisa's stitch with chunky yarn : www.loomahat.com/linen-stitch/

    • @vegangelist
      @vegangelist 9 років тому

      ok, thanks LoomaHat.com. I suspected it might be something like that.
      Since the e-wrap sits "up" and is "chunkier" or "taller" that makes sense with the medium yarn. I can imagine that with the chunky yarn, there wouldn't be enough definition, hence her using the flat knit.
      Not to mention, the e-wrap on the smaller gauge is going to look different than the ewrap in the larger gauge.
      Good to know. That just means I have OPTIONS! :D
      Is this loom the same gauge as the AIO (which i think is 3/8" if I'm not mistaken off the top of my head)? I just got my first Cindwood looms (a couple small ones) yesterday so I was thinking that would be a nice loom to try this on. At 1/2" it would be close.
      This stitch needs to be in the running for the "which stitch gets to make up my hubby's next hat/cowl combo?" in the series of hat/cowl combos that I'm making him. LOL

    hey do you think you can make a video on how to make a hat with this loom because I am so confused with it.

    • @LoomaHat
      @LoomaHat  7 років тому +1

      I don't think I will be using this loom for my regular knitting - but this one is not that much different from other small gauge looms. Don't let the shape confuse you. Did you have a particular pattern in mind

    I am working on making potholders and my edge is curling! I know you said something about tightening loops...but how will that help? Besides...I STINK at trying to tighten the first row. I mess it up every time... :(

    what kind of loom are you using? I like that. what is the brand name of it? do the pegs come out? I bought a Martha Stewart one, and you can not keep the pegs from falling out, so I returned it, so now I'm triing to find a better loom

    Hi Denise,
    Thanks for all of your great videos! I really enjoy them.
    I saw below that the cast-on depends on what you are making. I would like to make a shawl using the linen stitch. What kind of cast-on do you recommend? Many thanks!

    Hi Denise, What kind of loom are you using I only have round looms plus the Martha Stewart loom kit I have made a couple of your waffle stitch wash cloths as I am just learning but they seem a little looser than the ones you are making. I also love the tutorials you post they are great and I find I can follow but I notice you use the white oval loom quite a bit.
