This is exactly the type of shot that I want to do in Blender, so am trying to follow as best I can.. watch 5 seconds, watch same 5 seconds, click on my build. Undo, re click using correct settings. Watch 5 seconds, rewatch 5 seconds, click on my build, undo, re kick on my build having spotted my mistake, watch another 5 seconds….. rinse and repeat. We’re getting there though. 👍
Nice work. I have to do space flybys frequently for my animated series and you have a number of good tips in this video that I will put into practice ASAP. I also like your use of the compositing editor to really help with the final product.
In Blender, you should be able to choose the "File > Append" option, then you can dig into that .blend file and choose the particular piece you want to import
This was recorded on Blender 3.4 if I recall correctly. It should work on all Blender 3.x versions. You can always download the file directly from SketchFab and import the raw file if the plugin doesn't work.
jesus dude, great video, but you need to slow down with your workflow for people to accurately follow better. Within the first 5 minutes, I've had to pause and replay countless times to keep in sync with you.
Thanks for the feedback. This is labelled as a "Get on with it" tutorial. I didn't get round to making a beginners tutorial as it just stretched too long. My others (and more soon to be published) are always duplicated. 1 x "Beginner" and 1 x "Get on with it" edition for every tutorial.
Thanks for the feedback, did have this labelled as a "Get on with it" Edition, so it is going through this fairly fast. Will do my best to speak clearer next time round

Anything in particular you need assistance on let me know. Twitter (joepavitt3d) is best for that kind of help
If it helps, I remember doing a CG Geek lightsaber tutorial as my first ever project in Blender. His 90 minute tutorial took me 14 hours
Very cool thanks!!
Thank you for your hard work.
Thanks for watching!
awesome stuff! Make more please!
I certainly plan to, but had a baby arrive 4 months ago, so been a tad distracted!
@@joepavitt3d A few months and he'll feel like learning Blender aswell...
@@joepavitt3d Congrats!!

Glad to hear it's helpful. Good luck with your series!
Great tutorial ( so far ). Stuck at 9:41. How did you get your image of the Earth into a "Group" from which you could then select it in Shade Editor?
I used an Add-On, should be the first one in the list in the description of the video, hope that helps
Good
great tutorial! but the add-on link for the earth texture downloads as a .blend file, how do we import that here?

Hi. Which version of Blender do you use? This Sketchfab Blender Plugin: Which version does it work on?
This was recorded on Blender 3.4 if I recall correctly. It should work on all Blender 3.x versions.

I cant find the plugin you used to do the surface?
Links in the description, exact one you're looking for is:
lassef.gumroad.com/l/JlNTt?recommended_by=library
I cant figure out the surface part like where is that
The assets are linked to in the description of the video. It uses a 3rd party (free) plugin.
...and you are really PROUD of this TEACHING someone? 😂

Sometimes I will decrease the playback speed to 0.75 or even 0.5. Sounds funny but definitely helpful
Slower and speak clearly please
