QUICK Nebula - Blender Beginner Tutorial
A quick walkthrough on how to create Nebula background as a world shader in Blender, using shader nodes, for your space scenes.
If you want multiple colours as per my thumbnail, in the colour ramp (where I use cyan), you can add multiple colours, and it'll blend between them instead.

    Just tried this and thoroughly enjoyed your tutorial! I've got a question on how to animate the dunes shifting using the coordinates like x,y,z or something? Have you got any ideas on how to connect to these nodes to do this? Thanks heaps!

    • @joepavitt3d
      @joepavitt3d 5 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching, normally, you create an "Empty" object in the scene, and then drop that objects into your node tree and use it's globa coordinates to drive the relevant offset. So, each of your noise textures can be driven by a "Mapping" where the position offset is the position of the "Empty"

      @jamesjosephides this video (ua-cam.com/video/bzsLYqkeoww/v-deo.htmlsi=zhEsy-E_A9vNIstJ) shows the technique if using another object (in this case an Empty) and utilising its position. You can use that technique to pass its position into a "Mapping" node, which will move the dunes. Difficult to explain much more via YT comments!

    it's possible. you need a titanium engine block with a double sided titanium piston and conrod that fires both sides to flap the wing rapidly. each wing should have its own engine. there would need to be a second set of pisons to clear the exaust and fill the cylinder with fresh air to skip the intake stroke most engines have and every stroke will be a power stroke flapping both up and down. this vehicle is possible to make but will be too expensive. also the amount of flaps per second it needs to gain lift would not be efficient on fuel since each flap would be the power stroke of the engine

      If such a craft existed, the wings would be electrically actuated, maybe a solenoid type device such as in electric hair clippers. Using a purely mechanical mechanism would be complicated, bulky and too delicate since it needs to do the lift, thrust and steering in one device.

In hindsight, the better option with the waves, given that its such small detail, would actuallt be to put it as bump in the Shader, rather than geometry. Likely you're not seeing it because you're Dunes don't have enough geometry/detail, but it's very expensive to add. As bump in the Shader (use the same math/texture) as much cheaper Thanks for watching!
