@St. Haborym Indeed. Very unique game with an interesting backstory. Very few people bought it, myself among that group long ago. When games are sold based on what content creators like Civvie her says, it makes me happy. It makes you feel like there's a proper underground gaming scene that's relevant. With mostly "regular" dudes who upload videos about hidden gems they genunely enjoy, and make other regular dudes aware of some stuff they may have missed. As opposed to overpaid content creator shills who just advertise whichever triple A game developer pays them the most to shill for them, even when the triple A titles are just bland, generic crap.

Quick tip for anyone who will get this game because of Civvie's vids on this like I did: You might notice that the doctor that shows up to sell his services is immune to damage due to being a humanoid like many of the enemies and proximity to explosive barrels. You might then assume that the dog is similarly immune and, while you would never shoot it, you might assume thay explosives and explosive barrels will not harm it. I played through again yesterday after the full release came out and was praying that you would make this vid. So much new content on such a tight, polished experience, this game started as a nobody passion project and in my opinion is now one of the best examples of the genre to date. So good.
I couldn't agree more with the relaxing comment. I'm not sure what it is about this game, it's just become a comfort game. Absurdly good, could not recommend it enough. I'm pretty sure I got lucky with rng because every one has made a note of the difficulty but it never seemed too hard for me? I did also have a pill set up that made enemies to 30% less damage so that's probably it. Also youtube thinks this game is minecraft lmao
I got this game because your older video and this update made this game go from amazing to legendary. Picked up a knife with random projectiles in the 4th or 5th level and the random projectile was massive metal balls of death. I just sit outside a room and fill it with bouncing metal Indian Jones boulders and laugh.
I don't know if you know this, but the AK-47, officially known as the Avtomat Kalashnikova (Russian: Автомат Калашникова, lit. 'Kalashnikov's automatic [rifle]'; also known as the Kalashnikov or just AK), is a gas-operated assault rifle that is chambered for the 7.62×39mm cartridge. Developed in the Soviet Union by Russian small-arms designer Mikhail Kalashnikov, it is the originating firearm of the Kalashnikov (or "AK") family of rifles. After more than seven decades since its creation, the AK-47 model and its variants remain one of the most popular and widely used firearms in the world. Design work on the AK-47 began in 1945. It was presented for official military trials in 1947, and, in 1948, the fixed-stock version was introduced into active service for selected units of the Soviet Army. In early 1949, the AK was officially accepted by the Soviet Armed Forces and used by the majority of the member states of the Warsaw Pact. The model and its variants owe their global popularity to their reliability under harsh conditions, low production cost (compared to contemporary weapons), availability in virtually every geographic region, and ease of use. The AK has been manufactured in many countries, and has seen service with armed forces as well as irregular forces and insurgencies throughout the world. In 2004, of the estimated 500 million firearms worldwide, approximately 100 million belonged to the Kalashnikov family, three-quarters of which were AK-47s. The model is the basis for the development of many other types of individual, crew-served and specialized firearms.

Three minutes in and I'm already frickin' sold. This game looks like Project Warlock meets American McGee's Alice, and I'll be goshdarned if that isn't one of the most exciting concepts I've seen in the past several years! =D
I can't believe how extensive the demo was. I played it for a while. It throws a ton of weapons at you to try, and is a straight-up blast. It reminded me of playing the shareware versions of Wolfenstein and Doom for long periods of time back in the day.
Hey, love the video, and I just say thanks for subtitling all your videos! Shit goes unappreciated far too often. Personally I have Deaf family, several people hard of hearing, and myself watch everything with subtitles. Even though the autogenerated subtitles have improved, there’s no punctuation, capitalization or indication of speaker. As someone who has the choice, auto subtitles make it worse, but I respect it for the deaf. But, custom subtitles are superior in every way! Best of luck to you man.
Noooo! #FreeTheSpaceMeme! It's my favorite one and as close to seeing you play Command and Conquer/Red Alert as we'll get. If you missed those games as a kid Civvie, all I can say is I'm sorry the World is cruel that way. You would have loved them. For the record the meme is the best thing about RA3. My disappointment was immeasurable, but I laughed about that delivery for the rest of the night when I saw it and kept randomly shouting it. I'd even throw in "SPACE!!!! The Final Frontier!" and giggle like a lunatic.
For anyone who wants to pick this up on console-- I'm playing on PS4 and while it's never crashed on me, late game some rooms drop me to 2-5 fps. Usually the rooms with spawning crystals that spawn the necromancers, which spawn skeletons. Still playable, but on the later maps it can be frustrating when you finally clear that gauntlet and die, and have to suffer in PowerPoint hell again.
I just have to say, after almost 700 UA-cam subscriptions, thousands of videos spanning topics of all types, your channel has become my favorite. The integration of comedy, random game / movie references and good honest reviews is an excellent mix.
And then Civvie was buried under 3000 barrels. Some say that you can hear him scream about capstone from time to time underneath all the wooden cylinders.
Fun game. I picked up a machine gun with semi automatic, explosive rounds and massively reduced recoil. Made for a wonderful battle rifle. Later, I re-rolled the semi-auto and got full auto but with a hugely reduced rate of fire. It's perfect. The difficulty curve fell off a cliff after that.
I found the Demolitionist Rifle, Basically an M4 with a 40MM grenade launcher (I think it’s the same gun you’re describing), and it has 10 percent chance of criticals but also had +39% fire rate. I could NOT manage that recoil. Fortunately the scientist decided to be nice on the reroll and gave me -32% reload time. I absolutely love it. Now I’m just hoping to get the scientist that will give me an upgraded version of it.
@@jomahawk7488 Nah, I had the Pig; the M 60. The one you're talking about is pretty good, too, but I don't like having to wait for the grenade launcher to reload. By the time I found a good one of those, I already had my Pig. Yours sounds awesome. I found one of those M4/Grenade launchers that had burst fire. When I pulled the trigger, it was full auto. So I was confused... until I used the grenade launcher. THAT had three-round burst on it. Hilarious but impractical. I also found a heavy bolt action sniper rifle with burst fire. It was awful. It worked the bolt with every shot, so the burst took ages.
I was so pumped to see the final episode being released. Can't wait to sink about 40 hours into it again. Also, I was shocked to see my name added to the Special Thanks pages. I really did not see that coming.

You must be an 87 kid, cuz we click on the games my dude. Thanks for your videos, and thanks for the games.. I'm loving everything you've sent me looking to enjoy. DEVS; Pay attention!
Hey Civvie, Just wanted to say thanks for featuring this game. I tried out a demo a few days ago, and got hooked enough to buy the full title. So far, I've progressed to the end of chapter one, and its only been a few days. I'm not as competent at FPS games as you, so the hive hand thingy has been carrying a lot of weight for me. At one point, I re-rolled it into a rare with burst fire. As in the alt fire that fires an entire hive of bees will fire three times in a row. Drains magic ammo like crazy, but it was great to just launch that into a room and let the bees work for me. Later on in the chapter I picked up a single fire grenade launcher with the random ammo perk and got one that fired bee hives. That weapon carried me through ten rounds in the sewer arena, as in it was somewhat hilariously broken, between that and a rapid fire power boot to get anything off me that got too close for comfort. So far, my favorite gun is the grenade harpoon. Harpoon fires, grenade explodes after impaling. Its just beautiful. Anyway, if you wanna play a fun game of humiliating the dragons, one of the first perks I had the ability to purchase in jade tree was acid immunity. Not sure if its the same for everybody or randomized. Dragons ain't shit anymore, and I can swim in sewer acid like its nothing. Four stars, would recommend. Also: The dev really, _really_ loves you. So far I've seen a wall mural with your face on it, cancer mouse, and dope fish as easter eggs in the secrets on various maps.

Would be spiffy if you took a squint, even for your own eyes and not the channel. It's story is a doozy. Take care!
Ooh, thanks ;)
@St. Haborym Indeed. Very unique game with an interesting backstory. Very few people bought it, myself among that group long ago. Became abandonware then recovered by the developer, updated for modern systems and released for free. Next to no one on UA-cam has covered it and I would LOVE to see Civvie's take on it. Hopefully he sees this and gives it a squint. Even if he doesn't do a video on it, that game needs more eyes on it.
@JD Power that’s such a great comparison! He is sorta like Svengoolie now that I think about it
oh wow, i'd forgotten all about that, i only had a demo for it as a kid but it was really cool
Is boy howdy a WA state saying?
People who stop watching Full Metal Jacket halfway through are also the same people who put the pizza crust back in the box.
I love how Civvie able to make Gianni says what he wants. 10/10 amazing intro xD
Love this game, glad to see it's out from the early access now!

I don't think there's something worse out there that the stuff Maxor forced on Gianni in his review of MGR.

"Hostile tyke-over" sounded a bit too legit
On the other hand, "Hostile 3: Dyke-Over" sounds like a porno film.
"Dresden in a can"
An absolute scholar, a way better comparison. Civvie knows his WW2 history.
He’s surprisingly well read for literally living under a rock. Power of the internet I guess.
That shocked me, cause nobody gets taught about Dresden or Berlin. All they hear about it the Bombing of Britain and then they teach the same Holocaust curriculum every year for the rest of school.

@@tadpolegaming4510 I guess it could be a school district thing. I know in my school we had to do a project on crimes against humanity and present them to the class. The only one that was off limits was the Holocaust because we already covered that subject in class. The projects ranged from the Jewish expulsion from medieval Europe to more modern events like the Bosnian and Albanian genocides.

THE “BLAKE ROCK” BLASTER THING IS A BLAKE STONE REFERENCE!!!!! Ha ha I grew up playing that!!!!! And you civv reviewed it
I'm having a beyond-crap day and sure enough, Civvie comes through with the new upload and now my day's better :)
Same same.
Yeah my day definitely improved thanks to Civvie
Lucky you.
Same here, at least this was an awesome vid. Hang in there.
What happened?
Quick tip for anyone who will get this game because of Civvie's vids on this like I did:
You might notice that the doctor that shows up to sell his services is immune to damage due to being a humanoid like many of the enemies and proximity to explosive barrels.
You might then assume that the dog is similarly immune and, while you would never shoot it, you might assume thay explosives and explosive barrels will not harm it.
You, like me, would be wrong and find out there are worse fates than those who bother cuccos in Legend of Zelda.
Looks like the developer wasn't lying that a Civvie Video was on it's way in the change notes.
Thanks for putting this game on my radar all that time ago!
The game has improved a lot since this video, with tons of QoL changes. I think there’s no better time to check it out than now!
I bought this game a while ago because of your quick review and have enjoyed it ever since!
Over the past years my taste in games really turned into: "It's only the real shit if some weird niche UA-cam Games reviewer with some out of place gimmick has talked about it"
And I love every second of it.
Based on that gimmick it's safe to assume you own Brigand?
Question! What other youtubers are showing you cool niche games? Id love to expand my horizons!!
@@cyrus106 MandaloreGaming and Ssethtzeentach are the big one for sure. Leadhead and
DJ Peach Cobbler not only talk about smaller and lesser known games, they also have super interesting ideas when it comes to interpreting games as a media, or talking about the meaning of certain things in games. It's a bit different but I still really recommend it. Iron Pineapple has an ongoing series where he looks at indie soulslike or at least souls adjacent games specifically which I also really love. Raycevick is also really interesting for game essays. Less indie but still worth a listen.
Yeah, I think that's most of it. I just really like people talking about video games. The more obscure the better :)
Also, if you thought Civvie's dungeon and nuclear rat conversations are wild, get ready for the Peach Cobbler multiverse. You haven't experienced peak gaming UA-cam until you see 2 Peach desserts arguing with each other about the current state of Ubisoft.

Can't believe how much this channel has grown in just a few years. I hear civvie shout outs in million plus sub channels.
He deserves it. His content is refreshingly genuine and rewatchable.
i love the orbital strike cannon, it absolutely demolishes enemies yet plays the most cheerful noise when activating lmao
For the performance problem I recommend turning off antialiasing and setting the rendering resolution to 25%. It's retro AF.
I had some stuttering issues, but they stopped since i put the game on my SSD. FPS could be better but its running decent now.
This finally came to consoles, in the event anyone is watching this and interested. I picked it up purely due to Civvie's videos and it's been a blast.
In the paper by the players bed, there are the game credits. There is a LARGE “special thanks” section, and Civvie is number…3? I think? He’s really high up on the list. AND you can find an Easter egg of his profile picture in a secret treasure room.
"Top shelf Haldol" is something I never thought I'd hear in my life, let alone from CV11, absolutely astonished.
Im so glad they finally did a full release. I fucking love this game, and you're the reason I bought it. Keep up the fantastic work Civvie.
12:20 i love that CV put in Lo Wangs Nuke Lines and the Nuke Counter XD
This is still one of the best crap you dished out even 2 years later Civvie!
A Civvie video is never late nor early. It arrives precisely when it means to.
I got this game because your older video and this update made this game go from amazing to legendary. Picked up a knife with random projectiles in the 4th or 5th level and the random projectile was massive metal balls of death. I just sit outside a room and fill it with bouncing metal Indian Jones boulders and laugh.
I love the "Sorry Civve" looks like it was made in ms paint
Just on a work break so will have to come back to this when I'm done in another 5 hours. Just had to comment to say that Nightmare Reaper has become one of my all time favourite "run fast, shoot more" type games. And I only ever heard about it thanks to CV11 and his defenders of FPS roundup video a couple years back now. Iron Maiden was cool, Amid Evil just mhuw! (chef kiss) but Nightmare Reaper is just next level awesome. Such a satisfying combat loop. I can leave the mini games cos fuck that noise however the dev is the kinda dude who actually lets you play how you want. Don't want hitbox infuriation 90s style? Turn it off and you still get cheevos.
Respect! If you anit played NN yet then what you waiting for :)
I like to think one day civvie will end up working with devs to make his own retrofps, perhaps is based around him breaking out of the dungeon by force
After the week I've had I needed this, I know it's only Tuesday but it's been rough. Thank you Civvie.
The blake rock looks pretty much like a homage to the first real space pistol you get after the starter pistol in Blake Stone - Aliens on Gold ^^
Pure Apogee Goodness
Saw this on steam and was reminded of the old roundup videos on it, glad it launched well
Three minutes in and I'm already frickin' sold. This game looks like Project Warlock meets American McGee's Alice, and I'll be goshdarned if that isn't one of the most exciting concepts I've seen in the past several years! =D
I played one of the earlier versions of this game after Civvie's recommendation and I can confirm it's pretty damn good, I had lots of fun.
I can't believe how extensive the demo was. I played it for a while. It throws a ton of weapons at you to try, and is a straight-up blast. It reminded me of playing the shareware versions of Wolfenstein and Doom for long periods of time back in the day.
The part with Gianni was hilarious, props to the legend himself
Hey, love the video, and I just say thanks for subtitling all your videos! Shit goes unappreciated far too often. Personally I have Deaf family, several people hard of hearing, and myself watch everything with subtitles. Even though the autogenerated subtitles have improved, there’s no punctuation, capitalization or indication of speaker. As someone who has the choice, auto subtitles make it worse, but I respect it for the deaf. But, custom subtitles are superior in every way! Best of luck to you man.
😎👍
28:10 "Counterpoint: Orbital Cannon". Awesome line.
Time for the full episode! Stoked!
I just have to say, after almost 700 UA-cam subscriptions, thousands of videos spanning topics of all types, your channel has become my favorite.
The integration of comedy, random game / movie references and good honest reviews is an excellent mix.
Shame you're locking away "Space!". I like that one, it's quick and to the point, and is still fun to watch every time.
Well, your reviews certainly sold me on the game. It's... exhilarating.
And then Civvie was buried under 3000 barrels. Some say that you can hear him scream about capstone from time to time underneath all the wooden cylinders.
Capstone, the pinnacle of BARRELS.
Someone call Donkey Kong
You know how Civvie likes 'em crazy
Wow. I saw that video you made 2 years ago on this game. Pretty cool you followed it that long. Lotta new people coming to it now.
I was so pumped to see the final episode being released. Can't wait to sink about 40 hours into it again.
Also, I was shocked to see my name added to the Special Thanks pages. I really did not see that coming.
Well Civvie, you can count at least one more to that tally of “number of buys you personally influenced”
Because I somewhat remember your previous videos on this game, but this one, coupled with the game getting its full release, really spoke to me to shell out the cash for it. I’ve been having a blast, and have you to thank for it!
I see that burst-fire nuke and despite the Wang quotes, I'm just thinking about Caleb's unhinged laughter from Blood.
Honestly, this was the most fun I've had with a boomer in the past 5 or so years
"What the fuck is a Blake rock?"
A callback to the first episode of Civvie's Dungeon, my friend.
Also the pistol from Aliens of Gold.
I’ve been sharing this overview of the game to give people a good idea of what they’re getting into. I’m so excited that its console ports are complete!
I could honestly picture the dev team behind Viscera Cleanup Detail making a level based on this game with how much blood and gore and broken furniture that gets wrecked here.
Yet again Civvie entertains, informs, and does a ton of things better than 99% of all video media. Thanks. Hoping to see you play Ziggurat 2 and Armored Head.
7:52 im pretty sure he knows but incase he dont its a reference to blake stone
also the mop and bucket thing is probably a reference to vicera clean up detail
Bro, I'm gonna tell you... I bought Nightmare Reaper THE MOMENT I finished watching this. I'm pretty sold on your playthrough/review content. I've previously swooped Blood: Fresh Supply and PowerSlave for the same reason. ANY DEV looking to sell games needs you to play it first. You haven't let me down yet... Hey Civvie, the Blake Rock is the starting pistol from the game "Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold"
What the fuck is a Blake Stone?
It's Civvie.
There's no way he didn't know it was a Blake Stone reference.
He was likely being facetious for the comedic effect of the gun's reveal.
Watch civvie's first video. (It's Corridor 7, but it's not listed as the oldest since he remastered it) He's referencing that.
what the heck is a Blake Stone
I left the same comment before realizing he was referring to an old video
27:14 The way one manages to survive is incredible
8:30 Civvie finally gets away with a bad pun without getting Tazed/Frozen/buried in creepy blank reject vinal figures!
the Panel of text at 7:50 made the whole video. keep on truckin civvie
I completely forgot you can find Cancer Mouse. And if you manage to shoot him, he explodes into treasure.
thank civvie my man your vids are so much fun im excited everytime i see one, im in a lot of pain rn and you help take my mind of it instead of drinking to supress it.
Hot Pro Tip: Whatever the fuck you do, wherever the fuck you go, never start with the longbow no matter what level or rarity it is. So many runs to get rid of that wooden piece of shit, good lord.
Fantastic video Civvie, fantastic video game, Nightmare Reaper is an easy suggestion for folks from me.
"I know it's called BLOOD and Brimstone, but it's ok, I brought the fire". :)
When i saw the full release i knew what the next civvie video is gonna be
Once again. Thank you Civvie, your first video on this game is what made me get it on early access and I've been enjoying every second of it. Somehow the release version is even better
