    Did this and made gr8 difference in performance.. mine had 220k kms and the original filter! was so gunked up, the car was starved of fuel at all lower throttle.. huge diff!

    Nice to see you. I have already do this. My car also lost the under cover of keeping a fuel filter.
    And now I see the relief volts of fuel rail. This is good kk

    All you have to do to avoid a mess with gas is run the car and pull the gaspump fuse. All gaslines and the filter will be empty this way.

    Thanks so much I think I've fixed my problem at last bought my car with loads of parts replaced 3 weeks later I get crank no start bought a new filter and replaced like for like thinking strange how the blue pipes pissing fuel out as it's on the return but thought it must be right as it ran fine for weeks when I bought it then just realized with your video then must be mixed up praying this fixes it as I'm out of ideas

      Could I have some advice please my fuel pump is not primeing when turning the key on I've tried switching relays with the horn no luck and checked the fuses and relays under the bonnet and all ok also replaced the pump with a brand new one the pumps getting power when cranking but not on prime I'm loosening my love with this bmw and dint know what to do next please please help

      I was down the same rabbit hole when my N42 did not want to start some times. The fuel pump did not prime every time so I was thinking there is some issue there.
      I replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter (this video), installed check valve, swapped relays... It turned out that my chain jumped on the intake cam and there was not enough compression: ua-cam.com/video/Pi9fWWNf0gA/v-deo.html
      I am not 100% sure, but I think there is some fuel pump priming management in the software and it knows when the prime is required. That's why it doesn't prime every time you turn the key to ignition. If you wait for a few minutes, it will prime again. At least that was the behaviour in my car (N42 + ME9.2).
      Did you tried scanning for codes with INPA?

    Hey, I see u have good controll over the n42 engine so im going to ask u a question. I have just timed my engine with one of your videos because og the chain had about 40 degree just of a slack in the tensioner. so that is good now. I tryed to start the engine but I got no spark and the injectors dont open. I have changed the cam posision sensors and the crankshaft senstor, and I dont understand why I dont get any spark og fuel into the cambers. I got fuel to the rail. The engine is turning with the starter. what can be wrong? how do I i proceed?

      First i would recheck all connectors and fuses. Then i would suspect the timing. If engine ECU does not see signals from cam and crank sensors in correct timing it will not activate injectors and coils. Also scan for codes...

    what should be the correct pressure on the fuel rail in n46 n42?

      3.5 Bar (+/- 0.2 Bar)

      @@BimmerZen in my n46 it is 3.9 at idle, which is something wrong. In addition, the pointer on the pressure gauge jumps

    I got 180 000km and so its probably time i chainge mine 2 xd
