- I've never done well at Smith Mountain Lake (SML). The bass have always evaded me. I had a terrible practice for this tournament but I finally found a solid pattern the day before the Smith Mountain Lake BFL Tournament.

We were just at sml and we saw a big bass fishing tournament most likely the one your in
I always have a great time fishing at SML, I also leave with at least one that’s 3-5 pounds and never have a problem with a limit, I’d focus more on coves. The bass love hanging out around docks in the coves.
Good video. No matter what you had a solid tournament. Especially on a lake with bad history. Believe me I have one bad history lake. Actually a lake I'm fishing Saturday and tournament next Saturday. But that be said I cut a check 2 Saturday ago and in 40 mile wind. And that's one thing that's followed me everywhere in my new season tournaments is the dang wind. But anyway good luck next time on the water and let's go catch em.....
Best bass fishing on that lake is up the Roanoke River past Hardy from rutrough point back down monster bass and stripers should be active right now
What Marina did you all go from. We were there last week but up at state park area. Never got down to dam.
