Best instructional video that I've come across for a trussrod jig. Able to hear your instructions and camera work is nice and smooth. Great job, thanks!
This is the most helpful video I've ever seen. I'm getting ready to attempt my first neck build. I just made my first truss rod channel jig yesterday, and already have a list of things I want to change on it after seeing this.
Hi there, I used Ed Hawley's CAD drawing which is where I got the positioning and raius dimension. It sure helped to make these jigs having Autocad. Bill
Thanks for those dimensions, very helpful. Without having access to CAD or large format printers, as a very crude alternative could I (don't laugh) put a pencil on 147" bit of string, peg it the other end and physically draw the curve onto wood for use as a jig? As I say, please don't laugh, very crude I know!
Nice videos, Bill. I haven't watched them all yet, so maybe the answer to myq question is in the yet-to-be-seen: how do you arrive at the angle for drilling the adjustment screw holes? How do you make those end blocks with that exact measurement? Thanks, Steve
Im building a '51 precision bass style neck, im assuming the radius of the channel needs to be a bit larger to maintain the same exit angles given the length of the channel will be longer. my math tells me the difference beween the depth at the ends and depth at the center of your channel is about ~.174" at your radius of 147". should i keep that .174 and extrapolate the radius size given an average exit angle of 2.9 deg?
Can you make me a jig and purchase? that is very nice. Is the jig made to specifics of the truss rod or will it work for any rod? noticed on several google searches that some trus rods are the same depth thru out length of neck?
@MrAtvi61 Sorry but I don't have any drawings for this jig. I use autocad to get the radius and measured out the rest by pencil and rule. I can get you a pdf of the neck drawing and you can use that to print off 1:1 scale. Let me know. Bill

I'm glad its been helpful Eddie.
These arched router guides are very cleverly invented! Congratulations.

From one guitar tech to another... nice job on the video... and the neck...
Have a great day!

Sammy, thanks for the thumbs up. You have a good one too man!
That jig is priceless!
Do you have a UA-cam video on how to build that jig?
@jimjarrel9179 Sorry. I don't believe I do. I typically swill print full scale layout of the parts the use them to make templates or the parts.

Hi and thanks.
I am using a Freud #18-104 1/4-Inch Diameter Round Nose Router Bit with 1/4-Inch Shank

Leonard Bunn some trussrods are dual action so thats why they are the same depth. I don’t have kits sorry
can you please tell me which router bits I need for the truss-rod line ?
Hussein Tech I used a 1/4” round tip bit
please we're still waiting for the plan of this trussrod can you please be kind and draw this the make a photo from it please
Nicely done! What bit are you using for the route?

Would you happen to have Autodesk Inventor and can you real model the jig in the program. I really want this jig.
Hey how deep do you route the truss rod channel? Thanks!
Nice video.. But I think I'll go back to bird houses lol.
@Pelleman666
Could you clarify, what do you want me to send?
Bill
Hi and thanks, right now I don't have a set of plans for the jig sorry.
Bill
@MrAtvi61 Ciao Vincenzo, potresti condividere con me il pdf che ti ha mandato Bobo9977, vorrei costruire anch'io quest'attrezzo. Grazie!
Metric would of been easier
Sorry. Im old school.
