That was insanely good. I've been thrown in front of James, got a pick from him, got a "I got you" gesture after I screamed at him "You saved my life", Kirk smiled at me and gave me 2 picks with another gesture.. A great night with just one blow, my bag is gone...
that is amazing
Last time I was at Metallica concert was in 1999 😓
Digga was
Lucky you
After some 38 years, the album Ride The Lightning is still fucking good to play live.
Yeah 41 years but yes, still such a great album.
Oh wait my bad you mean since ride the lightning l
one of the best thrash albums imo its up there
especially Creeping Death
that shot at 3:28 , seeing the entire crowd just scream "DIE! DIE! DIE!" from above is so epic looking. Metallica know how to power the crowd and it's so awesome when a band does that, the crowd and the band give each other energy so the whole experience is better overall
@@RyKaB17 I agree with you
Man this kicks ass hard. I just wish they'd do the extended "Die" chant like they used to. Tempo is high, riffs are loud. Bass is thundering! Hell of a song.
@@ifeobasa5459 They didn't do it in the gig I was at in Brazil either, but what hurt the most was them not doing the mid section in Battery. Amazing show still!
@@ifeobasa5459 they’re playing a festival. Gotta keep the time down
@JustAnotherChannel obviously
miss the 20 minute version of seek and destroy?
I remember the “die” chant when I saw them back in ’88 at the Monsters of Rock festival in San Francisco. It was amazing. Saw them again that same year with Queensrÿche opening.
I was only 17 or 18. One of the best years of my life.
I still have the ticket stubs 🤘
40 years being the greatest band in the world... It's just amazing.
Second after Maiden...
@@iRemol Both of them are 2nd after Slayer :P
@@zors5188 lol, slayer and metallica sucks. Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden are far better than these so called trash bands.
@@Black-bn6ic Metallica is not a thrash band.
@@Black-bn6ic XD I feel sorry for you mate.
This was incredible, my first ever metallica concert
Same! 🤘
it was my first metallica concert too. It was amazing. I hope they come to germany again.
Lucky I live near their city still haven’t seen them
@@isaimlg3337 try to see them as soon as you can its really worth the money. its a whole new experience.
Congrats 🎈
Seeing the entire crowd chanting “die” and pumping fists in unison is something I needed today.
1st time I ever seen them I was 15 and James asked the crowd to pump their fists to this and do the die chant. I'm still in awe how much he owned that crowd in that moment
58 years old and these guys are still playing faster then the studio version. That’s kinda crazy. They are all madman
Fast but also very sloppy ;-)
@@hermannmusik how?
@@hermannmusik Of course you are absolutely right. Me i always mention 20´s KISS as the gold standard. Man theyve become, so tight Paul Stanley has developed into one of the most consistent vocalist of all time, every show on the end of the road tour he sounds exactly the same. Now that my friends is tight
@@Leo-gm2tv the solo is way off
@@jakefriesenjake way off? What did you watch. We must’ve watched different videos
I can't believe I got to see them live in Hockenheim, my first Metallica show
I fucking love them so much
Class⚡⚡⚡⚡
No matter what you think of Metallica, it's impressive how these guys who are almost 60 are playing their hearts out and going wild like they were back in their 20s.
3:28 is a nice view. This song will never get old especially when performed live.
Brutal view!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
That’s like half the fucking population lmao
I love that James has kind of picked up Jason’s old fry screams on “slaves” and “now” like Jason did back in 89’. It’s crazy how James’s is getting older but his voice range has gotten much better.
They are playing it faster and with more fire than ever, simply amazing.
Kirk and Lars have been practicing during the lockdowns and you can tell... this was great
And they have the time of their life , you see they re happy to play
No doubt Lars is the best he’s been in decades!
They are all killing it, but no doubt Kirk and Lars are the best they’ve been in decades!
absolute!
I read that Kirk is finally straight edge.
James is killing it!!! I'm literally blown away by his vocals lately!!! Love the man and his passion
one gets a lot of passion before death
@@morbidmanmusic Unless James something knows that we don't, it's a combo of lockdown practice and having the fire to start it all again
The first “SLAVES” was insane!
"Creeping Death" is the pinnacle of Thrash Metal. Absolute legends.
Painkiller too.
@@AlexJeanLuc Painkiller is insane!
@@AlexJeanLuc Insanely good song
angel of death as well
Even in the last row in the seats you could fell the bass drum in your knees, especially when the One breakdown came
I really wanted to see something like this because i bought tickets late and way in the back
Man Lars has really gotten it back together. They sound so good, that is so cool you saw them. I havent seen them for a long time now, hope to soon.
This is the best live performance of this song i've seen in many years. James is in GREAT shape! Absolutely amazing!
I’m in awe with such great performances they’ve been showing!
The kid headbanging at 5:23 is so cute hahaha
You guys spoil us with these uploads! No band does it like Metallica! 🤘🏼
Metallica Rulz! Was my 30th show travelled from 🇮🇪 for the gig.
Respect 🤘
I had my 29 th last Friday at Werchter !! 🤘
That's awesome I've only seen them 3 times but every show was fantastic, and I constantly watch live stuff. They sound good.
If they don't announce another UK/Ireland date soon, I too will be doing the travelling!!
I've been to Canada/Sweden/UK/Portugal/Czech Republic/Denmark/Spain/Norway and home in Ireland to see Metallica. Every gig was worth every cent, unforgettable life experiences.
That was,my first concert of metallica, and my favourite song
4:45 Pick replacement procedure full success!
The way he screams hockenhiem at 5:05 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻🤤🤤🤤🤤
Where ever this songs goes down that’s my favourite part Gives me chills every time
Wow! James even switched guitars for the last chord of the outro!
This performance is insane, they absolutly killed it
Holy shit, did y’all see that transition James did with his pick at 4:47? James is the goat. 🐐 🤘🎸
Crazy 🔥
Now that’s skill 🔥🔥🔥
It was smooth, although you shouldnt be that surprised that someone with 40 years of live playing experience knows how to quickly switch a pick hehe
my first Metallica concert! i lost my voice next 3 days but it was worth it!
Hell yes mate! My neck was still stiff two days after from all the head-banging. It was my first Metallica concert as well after waiting many years for them!
mine too! was close to tears when it finally started haha🤟🏻
Did james have throat surgery, cause his voice sounds awful
@@daveblack264 I don't know what your issue with his voice is, I think he sounds absolutely amazing! They did have sound issues at the festival which made it hard to understand his voice in certain parts if you were further away from the stage but that wasn't their fault. I mean, it's okay of course if you don't like the way he's singing right now but I absolutely love it. Have a good day mate.
My first Metallica concert was 1989... AJFA tour... i first got hooked onto them in 84, but completely lost interest somewhere between AJFA and the Black Album. It was more fun being a part of that exclusive club when literally no one really knew or cared who they were. I was part of the loner club in. HS because everyone mocked me for listening to what they referred to as “devil worshiping music” back then. Wonder how many of those guys back then now regret thinking that way. 🤔
We all gotta admit that they have finally left their phase of sloppy liveshows behind. This is actually fucking good and the shows from the 2020s are energywise among the best of the past 20years
The majority of the sloppy shows coincided with James falling off the wagon, unfortunately. I thought they sounded incredible when I saw them in 2017 on the Hardwired tour. Then a few months later James relapsed a bit and he was all over the place live. Went back to rehab and these current shows have been laser focused. Caught them last month at Boston Calling and they were excellent. Better than some of those late 90’s shows I saw when they were kind of a mess. Great to see!
@@matthewmarois235 Agreed. And apparently whenever James was in a bad state because of fighting (or even worse: procrastinating) his addiction, the other 3 seemed to adapt the bad aura and atmosphere and were not able to carry the band. Even better to see James' awesome shape these days. Dude looks healthy and powerful as fuck. 🙏💪🏻
Very healthy in may ways these days. Sloppy live show phase? Haha you dang kids....
@@bobabooey4537 What does anything of this have to with age? I am 43 yrs old btw and not a kid. Metallica have had quite a few sloppy shows within the last decade, thats no secret or hot take at all.
Nah they've been really good live all the time with much much much energy. Ofcourse one better than the other but thats kinds normal. When he was in his drinking period the shows are even better because its more raw and thats metallica. Now they're extremely tight and still giving it all like they've always done.
Such a professional and human band. What an example for everybody. They play just as crisp and kickass or even better than when they were 30. Lars, James, Kirk and Robert, you are a beacon of light in this world, never stop!
Hello, fan!
Thanks for reaching out congratulation 🎁🎊🎉You Won a Prize Cheerful send a message above to acknowledge your prize🏆🎉..
I was there right in front of the left aisle! Was my first time seeing Metallica after being a fan for more than 12 years! Dream come true! \m/
Finally, again, watching a video of a concert I attended
Thank you guys for the time of my life, yet again 🤟🏼
I think they made their perfect robot versions, there is no way to play on stage for almost 40 years with same energy. Hope to see you guys on a concert :D
They sound so fresh, loud bass line, Lars, James' voice and Kirk's solos, everything's so new.... This song could be recorded this year.... :))))
It’s only a better production and live recording. They play igual.
@@locsbcn it sounds better. How they play I know for my 30+ years listening them
Wish I could be at one of your shows! Amazing talent!!!!
Man I love this band! They are still killing it live after all these years! Love and respect to the best band ever! I’ve done the “die” chant at shows several times myself!
Waited 7 hours in the crowd just so I could be near the front when they played. Worth every minute spent there (the other bands that played before were also great).
No pee break?
@@hermannmusik nope, you forget about peeing when you know you'll see them up close
Haha same here, waited the same amount of time to be in front, I didn’t find the other bands that great, Five Finger Death Punch has some very aggressive fans and I couldn’t even enjoy the show since they were all crushing each other and Sabaton was really boring because they took so long and at that point my legs were already killing me. And as soon as Metallica came on, all the pain went away and the adrenaline hit me
Snake Pit was insane 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hats of to the sound engineer(s). This sounds freaking amazing.
I've forgotten his name but he's been their sound man since the beginning
@@jonathanlund6708 Very cool. I just did some googling. Looks like it's Big Mick. He's been their live sound engineer since 1984. Damn. What a dream job. I think I'd rather do that than be in the band. edited: Big Mick Hughes
@@ckchappell amen
5:44 Smooth guitar change for the last note. ;)
Omg it sounds amazing
The last tour is insanely good!!! Just superb!!!
BEST Band in the WORLD ....PERIOD! Hands down! And after 40 years, and all kinds of life challenges, they BRING IT!!......EVERYTIME!! Unbelievable! THANK YOU guys for continuing to deliver!
Best fkn band ever to grace this earth. First heard them in 1984 and i've been lucky enough to see them with all 3 bass players. They are the soundtrack to my life. Massive love and respect. Never stop and never quit.
Been there. My third metallica concert after 2008 Berlin and 2014 Hamburg. All three of them insanely good, but unlike back then I am now a father of two daughters (5 and 0 years old), which let me consume all this with much more emotion. I just wish Metallica keeps doing their stuff until I can bring both of them to at least one concert each.
Congrats!
YOU'RE KICKING ASS LARS‼️ You ARE sounding spectacular
first time in 30 years
This is so incredible. It's like they're back from the dead, I love it!
That shot just before the solo. Wow. Living legends.
40 years and still absolutely killing it.
Thank U for this amazing night! My first festival, my first Metallica concert and I really loved it! Keep rockin guys, hope we see u again in Germany :)
So FREAKING good. They're on fire right now 🔥
My first Metallica gig and already the greatest night of my life!🤘
All hail the one and only, the mighty MetallicA🤘🤘 May they rock on forever
I really love this song. A person at work introduced me to this song and I am eternally grateful. This is a great, great song
what a crowd!!!!!!!!!!! hammett gunned that solo wow!!!!
Amazing !!!! Love you guys!!! From Buena Park CA USA. Keep going!!!!!!!
Song is EPIC. This and Master of Puppets should be in some songwriting hall of fame!
Eles não param!! Vida longa ao Metallica🇧🇷🤘🌎

Unbelievable ✊🔥👍🎸🎸🎸
2:53 Rob's smashing that Bass
Did I just hear some "old" Metallica come back to life?👍👍
Absolutely crazy.. it was my first Metallica concert and since the concert I’m another person. I’ll remember it to the last second of my life. Lovely memory ❤️
Best metallica song
I was there. My first Metallica concert and Festival in general. Four meters in front of the stage but other visitors pushed us constantly away so in the end we stood like 8 meters away. But still a great day 😁
this was my very first concert ever and it was the best day of my life
That was the coolest "SLAVES"!!!!!... ive heard in a long fkg time. James been fine tuning that old school scream.
i love Metallica since 80'
This was like the 80s they are getting back to there old Level which was very high you can even hear James voice is like back in the days makes me really happy that they got there power back!!!!!
They played this one for Cliff man. If Cliff heard this he would be so proud. Absolutely incredible performance in 2022! James is in top form vocally! Ride the Lightning!!!
unbelievable performance... James, Kirk, Rob and Lars... you're great musicians....
Awesome thanks for letting us fans know what a great song here honestly
Seeing that little kid up on shoulders jamming out and having the time of his life, that is what it is all about! That is why they keep playing and will continue to play.
wow...this was bombastic...thanks for sharing guys...stay healthy and much love
I came there more than 30 hours before they opened the doors, it rained the night before for 5 hours, I slept on concrete, was extremely tired but was the first person there out of 120.000. I couldn’t do much a week after the concert because my body couldn’t do anything. But I got 3 picks from Metallica and a stick from Behemoth. It was just worth it!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿
man, you're a true Metalhead, you're a rare breed nowadays, keep rocking 🤘...
lol brudi
I was there as well, but there were only 70000 people not 120000
@@moritz_dt1257 and so many quiet ass Germans as always, sitting around doing nothing
@@moritz_dt1257 then there were only 70.000 tickets sold, I don't know. The website of Metallica says 120.000. But I am happy with 70.000 as well.
The 'Die by my hand' part is just an ICONIC moment of metal - everyone knows it!
THE THE THE
I was in the first row... It was incredible good.
Saw them last November and they sounded great. They sound unstoppable now 👏🏼
I love Rob Trujillo's bass sound. Awesome!💥
That is the quickest I've heard them play any song since the 90s. Incredible energy, Lars in particular playing like he's in his 20s again.
5:22 that fucking little legend in the backround !!
The best song 🖤
Блистательно и сильно !
Голос на высоте )
Хетфилд красавчик !🌞

My first metallica show in hockenheim. I will never forget this memory. Master of rocks: metallica forever 🎉
my first concert ever... it was amazing. thank you Metallica
3:20 -> As crazy as we germans are. fuck that was amazing!!! Thank you Metallica!!!
Metallica The Best 🤘😎
This concert was absolutely insane
That crowd is so hyped , love it!
You know it's gonna be good when James is using a flying V
Just saw an advertisement with you guys in it saying if you wanna play like us, you have to play with us. You are so right. Back in the day, I would sit in my room listening and learning how to play your songs on the guitar. Nowadays I’m kind of like a kirk Hammett clone. Lol
I would love to hear metallica record all of their songs with their current style and tone and James amazing vocals. Like a full studio album of most of the songs. I would pay so much to hear that
Especially Justice. Re-recording Justice with their current tone, hell yeah.
Iubesc @Metallica! Și îi aștept, în concert, în România! De data asta voi fi acolo! Pentru că, Nothing Else Matters!
Yeahhh 🤘❤️🤘
Si eu sper sa am norocul sa ajung vreodată la un concert Metallica.Trupa mea de suflet !❤️🤘
Si a mea
It was simply amazing live! Living legends!
Geeez,pure energy
03:17 I've always loved this powerful section and the crowd was awesome
I was there with my wife and son. Great show, but to be expected with Metallica. Have never been to a concert of theirs I did not love.
Metallica 👌👌🤌🤌🤘🤘🤴
Omg their age and they are moving around and playing like they're in their mid 20s. Outstanding. Slayer and Metallica have been fixtures in my home for almost 40 years.
Thank you for turning up Rob’s mic. In the 80s and 90s it may have been obnoxiously loud for Jason’s backing vocals but Rob’s vocals have always been a bit buried in most of the recent performances. This one’s a perfect balance.
Ахуй как сильно , честно сказать. Что впервые 30 лет назад услышав на пиратской кассете, что сегодня 🤘🏻
