To this day, individual Arabs will take features from other Arabs that go against their own dialect, like say individual Saudis or Iraqis using Egyptian words or pronunciations for certain words and phrases rather than the Saudi/Iraqi words/pronunciations.

What about the oral tradition? So the language of Alhijaz does not pronounce the sukun of the alif or glottal stop but all the other tribes do. What’s the big deal about that? If you are hijazi you don’t have pronounce it and if you are not you can. This is just stupid.
Actually FYI Putten there is another word in the Quran spelled and pronounced like kufuan كفوا and that is huzuan هزوا. That word is found in seven places in the Quran.
