@@duzk7588difference is black noir also has the mental age of a 7 year old, he can't speak not because he is mute but because his brain lost the function to speak, and has hallucinations if homelander had simply asked Black Noir if he had a father black noir would've most likely said so he probably never thought of it because his brain couldn't think of it as important until homelander made it look important.
Black Noir has to be one of my favorite Supe in The Boys because of how expressive he is despite not having any facial expressions or Dialogue, it’s all in his body language and you can tell exactly what he’s thinking and that just makes him such a good character, he has so much personality for a mute character.
Why can’t characters with facial expressions *and* dialogue have at least the same effect or amplified???

That’s the only reason why despite Vought replacing the man under the mask likely with Sam from Gen V, I don’t think he’s dead. He’ll be like a zombie Deathstroke, replacing the zombie supe randos from the comics. There has to be a reason Stan Edgar was genuinely more compassionate for Noir too

That cartoon scene created more viewer sympathy than most character’s combined backstories.
Honestly, if it had been the Noir from the comics, nobody would’ve cared. But since they gave him a bit more of a sympathetic lean in the show, his death is one of the more emotional ones in the show.

There’s tons of reasons for why Noir didn’t tell Homelander besides friendship. Homelander might not have taken the news that his Petri dish dad was betrayed and given to the Russians by his “best friend”, Stan Edger obviously had a strong control over Black Noir and probably made sure he didn’t let the info slip, and telling Homelander could’ve led him to breaking Soldier Boy out of Russia which of course Black Noir would’ve never ever have wanted himself. Just like with Homelander’s son it was a hard ‘don’t ever let him find out’ situation.

Black noir saying yes to homelanders question makes no sense to me, yeah he knew he had a father but he didnt know he was still alive until like a couple days ago at max, saying yes made homlander think he was lying this entire time when really noir just never told homeland because he never asked before.

Black noir’s heart drops as soon as homelander says soldier boy is his dad, and as soon as his heart starts beating fast homelander knows it. And what’s crazy is even Anthony star expresses this which shows brilliant sync with his character.
Homelander sees him panicking as soon as he asks if he knew. And honestly. I think if black noir had told him that he knew but said it with his chest like there was a reason. He might’ve let him live. But when he asked why you didn’t tell me and saw him freak out and that the reason was because he was afraid of him; just like every single other person on the planet, when he thought black noir actually cared for him, just broke his heart so bad he couldn’t stand to look at him. You can see all this in the facial expressions and if you like to dive into lore it’s accurate asf too.
The young Stan Edgar really nailed his role.

I love that he wears the mask because not only is it popular with a certain age demographic but at the time when he first entered the spotlight the world wasnt believed to be ready for a great back superhero and they feared the chances of it working out and not tanking his popularity and therefore the popularity of the team as a whole in the eyes of the world.

That first fight with Kimiko was brutal, but i got the sense that it was infact Noirs first time actually fighting another supe, at various points its like he holds back before striking trying to understand his opponent more than he ever had before.
Now i may be wrong, but i feel part of the original Noirs powers was an ability to copy his enemies, much like Taskmaster.
But it was this fact that gave Kimiko the upper hand, atleast until Noir realized the extent of the threat.

Don´t know if you are aware of this...Still in the comics he is NOT. Originally Black Noir is a clone of Home Lander. Physically & power wise they are identical. However in the comics Noir was raised completely different than Home Lander. So mentally they are very, very different. Not in a good way though
