Was I the only one in tears as the violinist has an infectious smile throughout the performance. I guess when one experiences pure bliss, both are possible. TMK has been blessed by Saraswati ma.
It is interesting that even when Darbari Kannada is sung in the South Indian style, it has, to my ears, a North Indian flavor, despite the fact that the basic raaga Kannada is a originally a South Indian Raag (as far as I know).
Darbari kaanada sounds very very blissful while rendered in the North flavour. I have savored Bhimsen Joshi's rendering of the raaga always with tears.
Actually,Darbari Kandada is a carnatic raga and it was later borrowed into hindustani music by the great Miya Tansen. The carnatic style of this raga has a lot of empashis on the gandhara and nishada which is not shown in this video. You can hear the classical piece "Chandrachooda" by the great Purandara Dasa for more context. Basically Darabari Kanada is a carnatic raga.
A lovely musical marvel from TMK and team..the raga alapana..Fantastic..the way he drifted through the ragams..a real beauty, loved the musical conversation between TMK and Akkarai Subbalakshmi..simply amazing..! Great ragams..superb performance by the whole team..! Mridangam..was missing but the ghatam and kanjira..Awesome! Lovely raga journey..enjoyed the same! Thank you for this excellent upload!
Even his brilliant nuances cannot hide his strained throat, his voice almost cracked at 14:44 - 14:55. Very unusual considering he is normally at ease in the range.
@@FirstEditionArtsChannel Mohan is right. It was a short darbari kanada alapana before the composition and not kanada. Please kindly correct the description. Thanks.

Very good to see a man named Guru Prasad wearing a Muslim skullcap. The only thing missing is Krishna's beard with no moustache and Akkarai's burqa. Kudos to the true secular sickos.

10.09😍😍 When Akkarai includes Mohanakalyani thillana in her alapane...Cute look of both..TMK and Akkarai...
Such joy for this troubled soul, thank you.

Wonderful ragamallika
Followed by Shiva keerthanam " Jaya Jaya Sankara " in the ragam dharbari kaanada. Simply mesmerising

@@prasannas3219 Smt. Subhalakshmi changed the ragam from Bilahari, to Mohanakalyani, much to the surprise of TMK! 😁

I wish I caught that. But, I loved Akkarai's sindhubhairavi so much.
She played a phrase from a popular thillana in Mohanakalyani.

He was suffering with a cold on the day. And yet he sang for over two hours.
@@FirstEditionArtsChannel Wow! phenomenal indeed. I only made an observation though, not a critical remark about his capabilities.
11:43-
12:23- Jaya Jaya Shankara
Among the raagas sung...It sounds very much bilahari
There's no Kanada after mohana kalyani at 12:05 he sings S D1 and once again he sings M1 P D1 N2 S which is only seen in darbari kanada.
Yea it is a short darbari kanada alapana after mohanakalyani and then the composition
10:09 that smile, when bilahari turns to mohana kalyani ❤
Can you please provide the lyrics of Jaya Jaya Shankara that's an awesome composition.
I think there is shade of behag also...
🙏🙏🙏

👌
Composer name please
Mohanam later only I guess after he finishes bilahari...
Sindhu bhairav,i behag, maand
Was there a Kalyani after the mohana Kalyani as mentioned in the description? I think not
No there was a Kanada. We've corrected the error in the description. Thanks for the heads up.

why There was not Mridangam artist ?.
Cranky decision
He thinks it is innovative, he doesn't understand the value of mrudhangam nalina
Mohanakalyani

Why do people comment on attires when you want to listen to good music. If it's against one's view Or belief ,should not see this perticular rendition

Did he get emotional?
That’s the starting of darbari kanada
Cant that guy blow his nose? Omg!
What u mean by that?

1:53 and 2:56 runny nose, have a heart
