the whole bandish is a great lesson itself. the student sitting on stage with the guru was a great lesson itself in those days. no recording no writing down. playing the tanpura, listening and repeating.

True Sangeet Martand ! From his eye movements in some close ups, it looks as if he is in trance and one with the divine. He is deeply enjoying the entire music while singing. All accompaniments are equally good, especially back singing. Shafat's class on tabla is so obvious in that young age. Appa Jalgaonkar on harmonium is completely in tandem with panditji as usual.
