    What’s the difference with the result on a cookie if you use silk screen or the acetate film stencil? Your tutorial is very clear and precise by the way! Learned a lot!

    • @CookieEngineering
      @CookieEngineering  5 років тому +1

      Hi Mary, thank you for watching my video and the feedback. If I understand you correctly the silk screen does not require bridges. Bridges are required for what you call acetate. I also create stencils with stencil material, which is similar to acetate.

    I built a 3 piece in cricut design but did not center them. I duplicated 3 times then remove what I needed to remove the word or design in each one so that when I put them on top of each other the three pieces where placed where they fit on top of each silk screen to make the one design. On the video you centered each one so when you placed the stencils on top of each other at the end you could not figure out why they did not line up. This may help others.

    Thank you for your step by step videos. Question: How many times can you use these silkscreen stencils? How long do they last? Thank you.

    • @CookieEngineering
      @CookieEngineering  5 років тому +2

      Thanks for watching. It really depends on how you care for your stencils. I have reused the stencils at least 100 times over 2-3 seasons. It's important not to submerge the stencil in water. I rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a dish towel.

    You can bridge the letters to keep all those small bits of the e’s and a’s.

    • @CookieEngineering
      @CookieEngineering  4 роки тому

      Yes, that is usually the case for a acrylic stencil. The entire idea to creating a silk screen is to remove the bridges.

    Oracal says that the Oramask Stencil Film is a low tack removable water based vinyl, I am concerned about it's durability? Does anyone know approximately how many washes before it loses its tackiness, or begins to peel off?
    Thanks in advance.

    Wondering if these materials are food grade. New to cookie making wanting to make my own silkscreens. Thank you for your video 😊

    • @CookieEngineering
      @CookieEngineering  2 роки тому +1

      Based on my research the materials I use are non-toxic. So not necessarily food safe, think of glitter or Elmer's glue. It is recommended that you do your own research, and determine if you want to use silkscreen stencils. I provide informational videos for the creation of silkscreen stencils. Thank you for watching my video and the quesiton. Happy creating.

    Do you like vinyl over htv ? And why ?

    • @CookieEngineering
      @CookieEngineering  4 роки тому +1

      Great question Kimberly, thank you for taking the time to ask. I prefer stencil material or vinyl over HTV simply because of the price point. The same results are achieved with any of the three materials.
