I had to come back after trying your technique.... You saved my life!!!!! I now have a love for silk screen stencils. This video was the best by far!!!! THANK YOU!❤🎉❤
I am back again... This is so interesting to me for my business. I am in the process of moving back to Albuquerque, New Mexico (US) to RE-Open my Acting Academy and I want to give out "Thank You" cookies to EACH person, but I want my name of my Acting Academy on the cookie too. I will be in touch with you for more information. Thank YOU so much for sharing this great video.
I think a tip that might help to get things lined up quicker would be to make sure your red rubber mat was stuck to your clipboard with some double stick tape. Then you could trace the cookie outline onto the rubber mat with a food safe marker. That should help make sure the cookie can quickly be placed in the right spot every time. I haven't tested this theory, but it might work.
That's the same idea as the $50 gadget I bought....tracing the the cookie cutter, then lining up the cookie. The problem is that with recipes that have any spread to them you don't always have an exact shape, so lining up doesn't always work. Plus when you are doing a 2 or 3 part stencil it needs to be quite accurate for placement. Which is why I have found this method to work the best for me😉
Great video! You did a great job of showing the placement technique, icing consistency, demonstrating how to scrape the icing, and more! Thank you for sharing!
I would use a thin sharpie or pen (that won’t wash off) and draw a line under the clipboard clip (on the silk screen) so I’ll know where to place the silk screen again after it’s washed
@@crazyforquilts Good to know... That is worth the money right there.. 300 orders... WOW.. That is so impressive... I want to be you when I grow up.. Thank you again for sharing this video.
Brilliant! I didn't watch the whole thing through yet but dang, this method looks like it would work a lot better than a certain expensive one I bought where you put the cookie template under it to line it up...somehow mine are never in the same spot! Better to eyeball, lol. So this is genius! I do have a question...I've never used silkscreen stencils before...do they ever get messy underneath the way the plastic ones do? I usually have to wash off stencils after doing 4 or so cookies. Thanks for this video!
Yep! I own said expensive stencil gadget that was used once because it didn't work for me either! They are different than the mylar stencils...you should be able to stencil quite a few with icing before you have to wash. I've done up to at least 20+ . You will start to know it's time to wash because your stenciled edges will start to look less crisp.
Thank you so much! Excellent tutorial! Your voice is so calming. I do a lot of silkscreen stenciling but never had the courage to try multiple colors. Do you have a color maximum recommendation? Also, how do you keep the stencil from drying out? I only get about 4 times and it’s dry.
I've only done 3 colors....I probably wouldn't go more than 4 but really I think you could do more. As far as drying out....you do need to work fairly quick. You can put a slightly damp clean sponge up at the top of the clipboard. So when you flip the stencil up it lays on the damp sponge and helps keep it from drying out. I do usually get at least 12-24 cookies done before I have to wash.
Actually, I was able to turn it sideways:) not ideal, but absolutely 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼loving this method!! Being able to lift, check it out, and put the stencil exactly back to redo an area is a game changer 😁THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!
Bummer! So glad you were able to make it work! Yes, I think I may be the only one that makes the stencils longer to work with the clipboard. My stencils are 7" long😉
@@SweetSugarLaine Where is the site that you buy your silk screens.. ? I'm confused... sorry... I thought you made these yourself... I am very new to all of this.. Thank YOU for all your help.
She has another video that explains how to make the stencils. There are other videos too that use different products. You might check her channel for a very comprehensive video on making them.
How are does this not squish the previous icing when you move on to the next step? I feel like the icing would still be wet? I’d like to try this method, but curious about that part.

What stencil material are you using? Do you have an affiliate link for that?

How many cookies can you do with this Silk Screen Stenciling?
I've done corporate orders of 300 with 1 stencil and it's still totally fine. They are very durable.

thank you for doing this.
how do you separate the parts of the logo to print/cut?
Can you share the recipe or the icing you use? Thanks!
Do you have to wait for the first part to dry? I’m just not sure how you would smear it when you scrap.
Tyfs!
Hi what type of silk do you use
Whay size are you cutting stencil? How much extra silk do you leave at the top? …just trying to figure out dimensions.
I try to leave about 3" above the design. So my stencils are usually 7-8" tall
How do I order a 3 part custom logo silk screen? Thanks!
YES... I want to know too.

is the silk screen material on the cookie or is the htv (vinyl) side touching the cookie?
I put the HTV on the cookie side....
@@SweetSugarLaine thank you so much. you do great work by the way. thanks for showing!
Is the HTV vinyl you use food safe?
on the site where i buy it, this is what they say " Per the manufacturer, since the material is PU it s OK for food contact."
