  • An overview of some commonly used cookie stencil materials. I forgot to mention that the plastic CAN be used without loosing details IF you ‘bridge’ the design. Quite a few of my videos explain bridges. I make a lot of silkscreens so I don’t have to bridge and couldn’t find an example in my stencil stash of a plastic bridged design.

    Oh no I hope I didn't make a mistake. I contacted two different vinyl dealers and they told me there's no actual vinyl on the Siser Adhesive, so I bought the Frosty Clear Thermoflex. I was afraid the adhesive would wash away or something, haha! Thank you so much for your videos!!!

    Thank you for the videos. So informative. Can you share what cut setting you use to cut the easy weave adhesive on your cutter?

    Were you using Thermoflex Plus HTV? The product information says the backing has a slight tack. I saw another video where she used it and it seemed to hold the insides of the letters just fine. Just wondering if you might have used something else.

      The ThermoFlex Frosty Clear HTV I had in this video was the one with a static carrier that doesn’t hold small details amazingly. ThermoFlex has since released a Frosty Clear HTV that has a sticky carrier. I like it a lot. craftcuttersupply.com/products/thermoflex-plus-htv-frosty-clear-with-sticky-carrier-and-semi-gloss-finish?_pos=1&_sid=2eeb65b55&_ss=r

    Hello! Is Graffix the only brand that is food safe? I’m not a fan of their material, but they are the only ones that advertise as “food safe”.

    • @creatingcookiestencilsinde2261
      @creatingcookiestencilsinde2261  3 роки тому +1

      They are the only ones that I know of that are labeled food safe. There may be others that are food safe and the companies just may not realize that people are interested in using them for food. If you have a favorite material I would highly suggest that you contact the company to find out if it is food safe. You might be pleasantly surprised. If you do so I would love to hear your findings.

    I’m new to cricut and I just learned how to create a stencil in design space. My friend makes macarons and I wanted to make her some stencils. Which thickness of plastic do you think I should go with? I ha e a deep cut blade and a regular

      sirenamichelle I use the .007 Grafix listed here for my plastic stencils. For my silkscreens I use the 110 silk mesh with Siser listed. lookaside.fbsbx.com/file/Cricut%20Cut%20Settings%20and%20Materials%20-%20Google%20Docs.pdf?token=AWw6eRvD3NzS26MoMe8Y7-TG13SmqyVfbmNbhYuw3_d67aBc_S13maVmltb0wyZs3xcZcePQ8v7u4K-VBCdwxy4IoyOcg7t1POLKcbvvkGqQBHoAl73G4pDOgSmZ_ofF5uin0T3q0335fP3a-fX-3irLHMWX3Te64orO4u8j4Om6A-ByVLVhgy_-ds7f5QUiWTJ5EJ-c9ExhxAm950mBRsKk

    Hiii! Can you please share with me what material I can use to make stencil for coffee (dusting)

    • @creatingcookiestencilsinde2261
      @creatingcookiestencilsinde2261  2 роки тому

      For dusting, a plastic material would probably be best. Something like this food safe material would be excellent. smile.amazon.com/Grafix-K05FCP1212-25-Craft-Plastic-Frosted/dp/B07TYJ4YHG/ref=sr_1_2?crid=3GGH5DHY26SJH&keywords=grafix+craft+plastic+food+safe&qid=1649350343&sprefix=grafix+craft+plas%2Caps%2C242&sr=8-2

      Thank you for the compliment :) You're most welcome. My favorite is the Siser EasyWeed Adhesive htv. I purchase it on Amazon. Only the Siser EasyWeed labeled as "adhesive" is clear.

    Hi! What was the name of the silhouette kit that you bought at Michael’s?

    • @creatingcookiestencilsinde2261
      @creatingcookiestencilsinde2261  3 роки тому

      This is the kit I purchased. The only downside is the sheets are white so you can't see your cookie through them for consistent placement. www.michaels.com/silhouette-silkscreen-sheets/10591692.html
