    I 100% degree with your closing statements. So in my 7.3 L truck I did the auto meter three gauge pillar system. I wanted to monitor boost, transmission, temperature, and exhaust gas temperature. I want to say it was well over $350 to purchase the gauge set up and then it took, a whole day to install and wire everything in. Yes it’s an old school and it worked well. I bought a second truck that was a 6 L truck. And I decided to do things a little bit different on this one so I went with the edge just like you did. I got the bundle to hook up the EGT gauge as well and now I can add as many sensors as I want for the most part. It was far easier to install in a really like the ability to read codes, clear codes, and monitor everything else that I cannot monitor with that pillar system on the 7.3 L truck.I had to do it all over again. The edge would be the way the 7.3 L.

    I also have the Edge CTS-3 and the Diesel Street Kit which includes the EGT probe and two sensors, I have it set up for Fuel Pressure and Water Coolant temp, plus the EGT Probe of course....
    Yes, the Edge CTS monitors are high cost at the outset, but they are very compact, and offer the ability to select from a myriad of monitoring options... Plus they have 3 Screens, the 1st is the Display that you showed, the other 2 Screens offer up 12 sensors on each...
    Edge is the way to go, Banks is too Expensive and very limited as to what it can monitor.

    I'll be doing a fuel bowl delete when I do my upgrades but good vid. truck is in for A/C. The pump won't work and the condenser was replaced last year.

    I have a driven diesel regulated return on my 2000 F250. I'm going to upgrade it to a fuel bowl delete when I install a flatbed. I'm hoping my filters and or shower head is mostly plugged because my fuel pressure drops alot taking off or passing someone. I have a fuel pressure gauge.
    The plug on the fuel bowl is the same plug for the hpop reservour.

    I had much better shifting with the Hydra and it has a no start mode which comes in handy in Colorado (high theft). The Edge 3 I wanted to love, but shifting was hard especially if in cruise control… it was like the throttle would only be wide open if it needed to increase speed as well.

      I don’t use the cts for tuning. Just as a monitor. Hydra is still the go too for tuning

    If the pressure is dropping into the 40s I would check your fuel tank first.. the screens are probably dirty and while there do a hutch and harpoon mod.

      I have run the white Rodger and had no function problems with it. Worked great. I just don’t like how much space it took up when I was working on other things. That’s why I don’t run it.

    Thanks for the vid! Stupid question > I have the CTS3 (and run a hydra tune) and want to buy the kit/s you recommended, do i need to buy both the egt probe kit and the edge competition sensor bundle to have absolutely everything? couldnt tell if i only needed 1 or the other or if you'd just recommend I get both I'll do so. I live in central Mexico so bit of a pain to get some of these things so easiest to order them all at once and get them sent to me in 1 shipment!

    • @LivingOnWheels
      @LivingOnWheels  13 днів тому

      The competition bundle comes with an EGT probe, pressure sensor and a temp sensor. So no need to order a probe separately if you get the bundle.

    Have a question not on this video but couldn't find the one on your original 7.3, but is it safe to do a fuel bowl delete without and upgraded fuel pump like a fass system?

    • @LivingOnWheels
      @LivingOnWheels  13 днів тому +1

      It’s not safe without other system upgrades. You need a way to regulate fuel pressure and filter the fuel.

    I don't see what benefit this would have that EGT wouldn't tell me. I know when my fuel filter needs to be changed, the truck gets sluggish and EGT's creep up. Don't need to add a gauge to see that. I do use an EGT gauge however, in fact your video was what inspired me to. That and the fact I found one on Amazon (no longer available) for $15, including probe! It's digital and in Celsius, however it WORKS. Celsius to Fahrenheit is 1.8x+32, which can roughly (for simplicity sake) be guesstimated as 2C=F. For $15, it's worked for 2 years and counting...

      Just my opinion, but I like that he says “What’s up everyone?“. The “ Welcome back to the channel” is old and cliche. Most channels start that way and don’t seems sincere. I’ve been watching this channel for years and this has become his unique way of opening the show. Great channel and great content! Keep up the good work ✊🏼👍🏻
