Did you mention Horsham?l lived in East Hampshire. Good to see three generations working together. Don't sell yourself cheap, its hard to increase your price after and like l said before,"people with money keep it"
Yeah mate I’m Billinsghurst based but cover surrounding areas The only cheap job I have is this grass cut I’ve asked him about doing ever two week cuts but he only wants once a month All my others pay the going rates
I’m going to be making a few chat videos soon talking about the mistakes I’ve made in the past to try and help others not make the same as I did I’ll also be covering other chats abit like Rob at maxwells but share my own personal experiences I find these videos beneficial to viewers

Weed killer doesn’t get washed off by the rain the next day if be able the day before. Weed killer takes about a hour to get into the plant. If you don’t have a PA1 or PA6B for spraying I wouldn’t be putting any chemicals down as you won’t be covered if something goes wrong. Sadly one of my customers decided to ignore my request of keeping her dog inside for a hour after I sprayed and now is very poorly. Luckily I do have a PA1 and PA6B and have spray record book which all been checked and I’m not to blame as I done everything by the book. Just be very careful as that could be a very different story if I didn’t have my spraying tickets
I won’t touch anything strong I only use round up it’s crap I’ve got a chap I know who has all the tickets and I recommend him to all my clients who are willing to pay to have it down properly I’ll never risk using anything without the ticket I’m not the silly If I did and something happened I’d be screwed Sometimes we can only but give advice it’s down to clients if they choose to accept it
I know mate you know what’s like you try and do mates a cheap rate but it’s just not worth my time really and once a month cuts mean it’s always hell long we’re as most lawns I do are well maintained and easier to cut and pay more money I think £70-£80 is more realistic for this one
You could hard prune the rhododendron clear all the bramble and self set trees then she has a view thorough and a rhododendron that’s eventually shaped to size? Only a thought. I’d love an etesia mower they’re so gooooood!!!!
can i just throw my thoughts into rhe ring . lots of comments stating the £40 grass cut is to cheap. maybe it is but if the shit hit the fan & you got offered £40 per hour for 40 hours per week=£1600. £6400 per month would you refuse it 🤔 people can easily get carried away mate.
That’s a very good point and that grass cut takes 35 - 40 mins so it’s a £1 a min Because he’s a friend I’ve always done it for him at this price it used to be every two weeks but is sadly only once a month It’s made easier now by having the etesia as it will get through the grass even when long Thanks for the comment it does put a spin on it when you look at it that way
But there’s three of you. That’s 2 man hours for £40. Should be double at least but long as you’re satisfied. Not having a go just hate to see all our hard work going cheap. Best of luck
Canny beat the the beast on long grass. Last week a rock got caught under my pro46 and cracked the side of the deck leaving a hole. Time for a new second hand one
I know as I said he’s the cheapest one I do because he’s a friend but once a month when it’s long is a pain in the ass and £40 should really be £60-£70
Glyphosate should be set in an hours drying . I always add a whole bottle of cheap dishwashing ( fairy or the like ) liquid to my 5 litre can of gallop as it supercharges it ))
We put some weed killer down and the next day had rain which wasn’t forecast so was less affective The client questioned if we had put any down but dad was watching me spray it So frustrating when you explain to clients that nothings instant and sometimes needs a few applications

They are really small mowers and the handle bats do seem lower compared to say a Honda pro or hayter but what a mower all the same cuts through anything and lives wet grass
