Honestly you show the real side of being a gardener, that's why we all love ya videos.People think easy money pushing a mower around, bullsh#t it's bloody hard doing it and the stress and dog shit 😢😢😢 keep going mate ,it all pays for the beer
Thanks for that 👍 the edited video of the good bit, funny bits and new tools etc is all good but this is the reality of some days. Some days are great tho. We just keep pushing on right. Thanks mate 👍👍
Thats the reality of what it like working for yourself as a gardener, bloody hard work which no one sees. You just keep grafting and hope for some luck. Great and honest videos 👍👍
This was a very honest and gritty video, all of yours are (honest) you don’t sugar coat. This might be the most honest one I’ve seen on UA-cam to date. That weather 😂 I know it’s even harder than it looks here in reality, as well as being physically demanding it’s the mental side of it, keeping chipper against all the odds, takes some training. You’re a good guy Nathan, probably the first gardener I followed on UA-cam and still my favourite to watch, genuinely hope one day to meet you in person mate. Keep a positive mindset as best you can, I can tell you’re harder than a coffin nail mate
That's very kind of you to say so thanks for that, I like to edit stuff down and do the lighter bits but always want to be honest with things. Have turned down a few opportunities with manufacturers due to them wanting good reviews on products rather than how I find them, they may have been good in fairness but you can only say how you find things. We all know this can be a tough game at times and it's great to have the support from others, hopefully we can pass that around. Cheers as always 👍
I like the way you tell it like it is. I would not mow a lawn with shit or any kind of trash or objects on it and I would let the clients know if they want their lawn cut, make sure it’s free of stuff on it.👍🏻
I had a day like this this week, a feeling of 'what an i dog? I've got this wrong' but i got through it and the customer was over the moon with the work. Keep your chin up mate, you're working super hard and doing a great job. Personally, i would never take on that much work. I was a teacher working all his if the day and weekends just to make sure work was marked, lessons were planned, resorts were written, etc, and have vowed never again. I work 9-5, have an amount in my head i need to make each day and sick to it. Yer, I've lost jobs as I'm booked up until July but I'm not busting my ass to get these, plenty more gardens out there.
Great video Nathan that’s a lot of jobs done in a day mate I wish I had a few more get in get outs Thank god for the etesia I was shattered after watching that 😂 hope you have a good week mate

I live in a new build and I've watched next door (is a renter) put turf down four times. It is exactly the as what you observed. We paved over ours, much nicer. I'm with you - I'd dig it all up, put a load of chippings in, and invest in some top soil and re-sow it. Everytime they put turf down I tell them it's been done and doesn't work. Problem is the renters want a nice lawn > TODAY < and they're not prepared to wait a year to get it.
Hi Nathan. Hope the rest of that week went better for you. It's a challenging period of the season, especially with the weather we have been having, and you more of your fair share. That's a lot of places to go in one day. A lot of people to keep happy. I think that lady had wetsuits, not leather jackets 🤔
Hi Nathan i agree with you about Etesia mowers,i see lots of people buying the 46 pro due to your reviews on them,i just hope Etesia appreciate what you do mate as people on you tube are certainly buying and using them more buddy ,keep up good work, you help me thanks.
Hope things are sorting themselves out mate… Nothing wrong with that mud lawn, looks like my last turfing job. The added bonus is you can cut that in the wet with a fecking Honda👍🏻💪
Mate thank you so much for this honest side of gardening, business, just wondering is it okay to leave grass cuttings on the lawn (mowing without basket)
I feel your pain mate. My van broke down this week (can't get it in the garage until Thursday) and my back up Land Rover has a flat battery. Had to use the Wife's car on Saturday to do 6 jobs, and she has a busy week this week. Going to have to hire a van for a week. lawns are growing so fast at the moment.
What you do with that lawn is walk away, you surely don't need the hassle especially if it fails again. Stick with the maintenance. Nice work mate keep it going
Great to see you got to the end of the Video,Your eyes are going if you think you looked A bit Rough you need your eyes testing LOL...Have A great week😀😀

How do you go about finding staff. Do you train them or find lads who know what there doing. Im struggling atm and need to take the jump of having someone at least 4 days a week. Cheers mate, top vid ad usual 👍

Try a local training/ back to work type scheme if you have one locally as they my able to help and offers a paid trials and work placements, usually just check your ins and h&s for candidates. Good luck tho .. you'll need it😬😅
Hi Nathan, That is a raw video illustrating the honest Gardeners day to day working life in wet conditions.. Awful but has to be done.. A great video and what a grafter you are😊.. New builds are dreadful ,lots of clay and debris,Grass seed possible best bet,but would dig up a lot of the materials in there first...
Thanks mate, I'm sure you're the same... graft and keep moving forward 🤞great to put some videos together but this is often the reality of it all. Thanks for watching and your comment 👍
Hope you’re all good mate. Quick one again lol, the Etesia pro 46 is it worth buying second hand? Only issue I have is I always stripe never haven’t. Last thing, the stihl Rm545 vr ( wth a roller ) I’ve heard is pretty good but not Honda engine … hard to know what to do if anyone can give advice as fed up with my Honda mowers clogging so much in the wet and breaking down …
Never used the Stihl sorry but have bought a few second hand Etesia mowers and they've done me fine, like everything that's not brand new you may have to give them some tlc. Bought one 10 plus years ago for £150 and still have it and use occasionally in rough jobs and always good for spares. Thanks for watching 👍 all good too👍
That tall grass at the eleven and a half minute mark 😂 oh Jesus bloody Hell. No I feel your pain there. Misery 😂 the same job on a scorching hot day with the sun on it whilst not a piece of cake would be a damn sight easier.
Hi Nathan you look how I feel 😣 I'm not feeling it at all this year the late start with this poxy weather and now it's full on with everyone like the first one of the year growth wise is a total ball ache.
Hi Nathan, hope you could clarify something for me. What are the laws on cutting/maintaining hedges here in the UK? I've seen you apparently can't cut them from March to the end of August but is that just for farmers? Is there a difference in law between keeping a hedge tidy like by taking a cm or two off and taking a lot off? Thanks!
Trimming is fine any reduction you'd want to be checking for nest. I'm pretty sure the agricultural hedging restrictions don't apply to gardens but it's good to say to customers any big works should wait unless it can't be put off. 👍
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd Thanks for the reply! Watching through the video I think that lawn area would work really well with some patio, chippings and if they're into their greenery then some raised beds and lots of pots or some feature like that.
