So good man, really inspired me to learn not only this song but also venture more into the land of lead (i've always been just a strummer)... I'm almost there with it, just struggling a little on the timing for the 2nd solo part... but this is way more than i ever expected to accomplish so, many thanks to you for that!
I just did this one on the drums! That’s awesome 😎👍🏻 we need to do a colab! 🤘🏻 wish there were players like you in the states. Very hard to find guitarists who pay attention to tone
I don't listen to Maiden a lot, if at all, so I don't know when I would go back to them but if I do, it'll be my next favourite in Fear of the Dark or maybe Revelations.
bwm5150 thank you for your reply I don’t know why I wasn’t thinking of that but I was also wondering how you get your tone to match up so perfectly with Phil’s what pedals do you use or how do you get that distinct leppard sound
Dude you are awesome. You could probably takeover for 1 of the guys in the band or just be used as a fill in. Keep up the excellent work. YOU ROCK!!!!!
Amazing. Great sound. Does anyone know what notes are being playing in the chord at 2:14. I know it's F# at that point but not familiar with that chord shape.
awesome! You play all of my favorite stuff and the type of genre im mainly into, if only I could find someone like you that lives near me to cover band it up with or just jam. I'm a drummer, but I play a bit of guitar as well and sing. Great playing and that guitar sounds awesome and looks good as well.
Ok, i'm a subscriber , you are insanely good. i've got a lot of watching to do here as this is my generation of rock. Have you considered some ZZ Top, R.E.O Speedwagon , or Boston covers. I'll be Watching.
This guy nails what was sorely missing from Def Leppard after Steve died. Steve had such a cool sound, those twangy harmonics and little riffs he'd do just completed their sound and after he died their sound was just flat. Phil is an ok guitarist but he just dominates their sound & doesn't seem to let the other guy contribute at all. I can't tell if they even turn Vivian's amp on half the time. Rest in Peace Steve.
Fantastic as always. Will you be doing any covers of tracks from Diamond Star Halo at all? There are some absolute bangers on there like Take what you want, Kick, fire it up and SOS!! Would love to heart you smash those..! Thanks for being one of the best things on You Tube
@@bwm5150 Great - have you posted them on your channel yet? Can't find them but maybe not looking enough. A quick question - are you able to just hear a song and then just pick up how to play it on the guitar? My 15yr old son has been playing for 6 years but is really finding it hard to get to the next level, so is thinking of giving up as he's so frustrated. I'll tell him to watch your channel to get renewed inspiration.
Yeah they’re on the channel. You can find a Diamond Star Halos playlist or look through my vids from the last year. I uploaded Kick and TWYW on the days they came out. Yeah I learn by ear, but that comes from experience and just a lot of trial and error in the early days.
Okay, I just subscribed to you and I will say beautiful guitar. I recently started playing Jackson guitars. I was between Ibanez and Kramer but I picked up a Randy Rhoads signature V and all I have to say is it wowed me with the feeling and sound. I am a major Def Leppard fan but in honesty I would love to know what amp I should use to get that 80s metal sound, like what amp should I buy. I am running a Peavey Vyper 2 and it doesn’t have that sound that I want. It’s so choppy
I don't use an amp for these videos, I record direct from my Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09 speaker simulator for consistency but I think you should be able to get a similar sound with an amp. Cleanish crunch with a compressor on it to squeeze out the sustain should be fine.
How are you mixing these exactly? Obviously the guitar stands out but did you change the mix on the original track somehow? Or add extra non-vocal parts? It sounds so huge and even the vocals sound different.
I'm just playing over the performance from the In The Round DVD. I don't have any more control over the backing track other than its level and a bit of EQ but nothing that would make the individual components different.
This was sexy! I seriously want to learn how to play this song...I have never played guitar before but even if this is the only song I ever learn to play that's fine with me! lol
Great tone!! Well done!! Keeping it real!!! 👍🏼👏👏👏 AGAIN, THANKS for NOT Fckn it up with the “2 trick pony” Phil’s ridiculous BS!!! Btw, it’s very cool switching through the different guitar parts!! 🤘🏼
Ok that's about 8 years longer than me lol...I'm a fairly decent player. Only rhythym though. However I can play the lead solo in The Go-Go's "We got the beat"...not quite full speed, but good enough to pass it off ;). It's a fun song and the solo is pretty cool. You should cover it! HAHAHA...Actually when you see them live, they are a LOUD rock band. It's funny to hear all the classic songs played loud with lots of distortion, but that's what they are like live...
Stock Jackson Dinky pickups are JB in the bridge and 59' in the neck. I have been using JB's for years. Maintain clarity even under high distortion/fast playing.
Like I said mine are Duncan Designed, the cheaper variant to the proper Seymour Duncan range so they may be based on those ones but won't actually be them. The DD humbuckers are all named something like HB 101 etc.
bwm5150 Wait, I found your video where you cover the solos. Also, do you have any suggestions on how to practice alternate picking? I've been playing for a few years and I've never practiced it. I can do it just not very well.
It's all about muscle memory. Just need to get your hands used to hit. Also I think holding the pic lightly helps me glide across the strings. Others prefer thrashing the strings but I have a light touch so that doesn't work for me.

One of my favorite Def Leppard songs and you did absolutely amazing

It's to cool to see what Steve's hands were doing to play these songs in concert.. what a total high-!!!
I love Def Leppard. The best I've heard !!!...WOOOOOW. My favorite song forever...Amazing
Mate your a proper legend 💯👌🤘

i love the guitar tune man! great!

+bwm5150 You actually replied you are awesome dude have a good day :)
I am convinced you are the real guitarist of Def Leppard ...
Me too👍🏻
I agree! He’s the Bob Kulick of Def Leppard!
@@JayManJax agree again I dare you
Yeah!, Love 💕 this song!!
I just did this one on the drums! That’s awesome 😎👍🏻 we need to do a colab! 🤘🏻 wish there were players like you in the states. Very hard to find guitarists who pay attention to tone
Awesome, you are a very talented guy
Cheers Luis
You did it again. Good work!!!
nice right hand harmonics.........again i love it..........the best Leppard covers on here !!!!!
Amo Def Leppard
Great!!! We rocked to this album when it came out.. I can't remember if it was a cassette or CD.lol
wow,, very impressive. i had no idea that this song was that difficult, lots of changes
Phenomenal playing on all tracks +the sound is awsome
Thanks Ian!!!
I wonder if Def leopard has seen your videos. And if they have, they should invite you to play with them in many of their concerts
Super cool detail...!!!
I was hoping you'd cover this! Oh i used to love dancing to this back in the day! What a joy! Thank you! Oh and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
wow!
Amazing
big big job fantastic !!!!!!
You are very good dude!! Def lep is the best. I'd like to see u do more maiden. I love to hear u do the trooper...
I don't listen to Maiden a lot, if at all, so I don't know when I would go back to them but if I do, it'll be my next favourite in Fear of the Dark or maybe Revelations.
EPIC!
I’m confused I’ve been trying to figure out how do you get the sounds at 1:28 and 1:40? Are they pinch harmonics if so at what fret
They're just natural harmonics over the 4th fret.
bwm5150 thank you for your reply I don’t know why I wasn’t thinking of that but I was also wondering how you get your tone to match up so perfectly with Phil’s what pedals do you use or how do you get that distinct leppard sound
I use a Boss Me50 and a Palmer Pdi-09. I just always went for a sound I liked and it ended up being quite similar.
Def Leppard lo mejor
Nice, I like it how you cover both guitar parts during the course of the song. Great playing as always !
Thanks David. That's what makes these tracks a little more interesting to play. :)
Dude you are awesome. You could probably takeover for 1 of the guys in the band or just be used as a fill in. Keep up the excellent work. YOU ROCK!!!!!
Cheers mate! :)
He’s not replacing Phil Collin! 😂
This guy is flawless
Excelente!!!
Amazing. Great sound. Does anyone know what notes are being playing in the chord at 2:14. I know it's F# at that point but not familiar with that chord shape.
Yeah it's like an inverted F# 5th chord if you want to think of it that way. 6th fret of the G, 7th of the B.
bwm5150 cheers for that, so simple yet sounds so good!
Yeah just a simple harmony part to expand on the main guitar underneath. I don't think they do it live which is a bit of a shame.
Very good
great sound on that guitar mate, well played !!
Thanks mate!! :)
woww, well done
That just rocked
:)
How did you get that tone?
Boss Me50 and a Palmer pdi-09

+Julie Howell Sure is
Well I must say , You play amazing :)
+Julie Howell Thanks :)
watch his other vids, Julie Howell...über talent.
Isn’t there a pull off in the riff on the g string from 6-4?
Sure is.
What's the easiest way to achieve that kind of distortion? Cheers!
+Humberto Morfin 50% gain with a compressor on it to squeeze out the sustain. :)
I asked this on your other video, but it looks like you've answered a little more on this video. What effects are you using?
Boss me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09. Use it for overdirve,, compression, chorus, delay etc.
I don't always believe in reincarnation, but when I do, I do after listening to your Lep covers.
I'll ask again....did you play in the actual band??
I have a 'band' called Super Monaco that I have released music through. :P
bwm5150 I'd love to play on that band. I love deaf lepard
What pedal are you using how are you getting that sweet tone?
I use a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi-09 into my computer interface.

Do you have the TAB?
Sorry mate, I learn by ear so I don't have anything to link. I have written up some of my tabs on my Facebook page but none of this.
bwm5150 okay. I just learn it by TAB and then I am playing without notes. Just need it to learn. Respect by doing it just with 👂
Just played your cover against the actual video. Spot on brother! Do you have a tab for this as well?
+Trevor Ward Thanks Trev. I learn by ear but I can write one out.
Amazing! How do you learn the songs? Do you have tabs or something, I've been trying to learn.
Cheers! I haven't written up a tab for this one yet.
Your awesome man! Tell me if you ever make a tab for it, thanks again!

I don't seem to have his number... :P

Get started and give it a go! :)
bwm5150 would i need to learn guitar basics first or could i learn this song first and it actually sound good?
Learn the basics and reinforce them by applying them to a song.
bwm5150 ok thanks!
Damn...
Great tone!! Well done!! Keeping it real!!! 👍🏼👏👏👏

It doesn't have an American accent so I guess not.
Lmao!
If Def Leppard ever needs a new guitarist.......
Ha ha, a man can dream. :)
Zaebomba
Your the Colin McRae of guitar.
Haha, same nationality.
9 people don’t know what music is
Turbo Brony trusttt 👌
What's that solo they play right after the song??
On the In The Round concert? It's Phil's solo that he would do on that tour like how Steve had one before Gods Of War.
bwm5150 Have you tabbed that? :-)
I have not.
