My Def Leppard Story: In the spring of '83 Seattle (DL were playing every 23 minutes on MTV at the time), 7th grade, my girlfriend at the time went to show. I was not allowed due to parental influence and much anguish. She returned the next day with a glorious concert T-Shirt and the jealousy raged for many years, probably the ultimate demise of this teenage love!. It was not until October 1988 I was able to finally see them for their last Hysteria show in Tacoma, Washington, after graduating high school mind you. I would say this song alone was the reason they were able to continue touring into the fall of '88 and was able to see Steve in his last proper arena show. Love the hard work you put into these covers! P.S. I missed the first show for reasons unknown.
I was not much of a listener of music when I was young except some pop/rock like Prince, Michael Jackson, etc. Then one night alone at my dad's house I saw the video for this song. It was like 1988 or 1989. As the video starts with that "Love is like a bomb" edit, I said to myself, (who knew nothing of hard rock or heavy metal) "this must be one of those really big bands". I laugh to myself now thinking about those words. After that video ended, my ears, my life, my direction changed forever. My hunger for more Def Leppard music was unquenchable. I did anything to record audio of their music. Then other bands slowly followed. But they will always be the guys who smashed that door to splinters for me. 💛🎸
I wish you could have seen this tour in person Ben. Mind-blowing snd great all the way through. SO happy to be able to re-live these live songs through your guitar! Thsnks mate!
Another perfect shot of mood style performance of my master, my friend, my preferite lead guitar, the sixth member of Def Leppard... You're so great... What a nice track... Thank you
Awesome! Good video! These are beneficial to me because i watch your wrist action, how you pick, etc. As I’m a beginner, it gives me idea of how it should look and how to do it.
I saw def Leppard in August 8 2023 in Columbus Ohio and was Awesome it was very very loud but I had fun at the def leppard concert rock on 🤘 def Leppard
Ben, you were chosen to channel Steamin... truly believe that. Quick question bro, have you ever tried a les paul axcess? Thoughts? As it's very unlikely Gibson will ever release a Clark signature this could be the next best thing
I haven’t tried one and can’t remember if I’ve ever seen one in the flesh. When I was playing in a Lep tribute, I looked at a Burny Fernandes Les Paul copy that had a Floyd and sustainer.
Mate you know I LOVE ur stuff so a few suggestions lol,,how about all about believin,,Kings of the world,,undefeated,,dangerous,, I KNOW you'd pull it off!! 😀
If you search my channel you’ll find those covers. From 2012 to 2017 I covered almost all of the main Def Leppard catalog, minus the Yeah! album and a couple of acoustic tracks.
Always love the Lepp covers, but have you heard of a band called H.e.a.t? They have a song called “Rise” that is right up your alley. Well they have a whole lot of songs that would be great to cover.
Hell Yeah!!!!!! Why have you gone from the Jackson to the Charvel? Your the reason I started playing Jacksons. Seeing you playing a Charvel is almost blasphemous lol.
@@bwm5150 I love Jacksons. Watching you play Def Leppards Rocket on your Jackson is the reason I decided to start learning guitar and your Jackson was my idea of the best electric guitar. From the moment I felt my first Jackson in my hands it was love.
Def Leppard tribute bands are really popular in Detroit here in the US, there are quite a few popular ones, but none of them sound as good as your guitaring

You naild how you rock on 🤘 dude
I've never been super into Def Leppard aside from their big hits, but I've really been enjoying watching this series!

phil was the one everyone watched but steve was a force of his own . great job covering steve . really enjoyed your series .
Did they? I always watched Steve, as he was the showman.
Man channeling Steve with that LP slung low...so glad I saw him live...guitar god 👍🚬🎸🍻
Lucky buggar.
You da man! Nailed it as per...
Man, if I had a time machine, that concert would be the first place I went to. 🤟
I was lucky enough to be at this very show recorded in Denver, Colorado and this would have been your favorite concert ever.

I love this song! Brings back so many memories
I loved the Steve Clark “guitar raise-up”! Sticky Sweet as usual Benny!!

As always - great.
More great stuff Ben!!
Great band. I like Def Leppard. Great playing man. Rock on!
My favourite to play 🎵🎸💥🤟
As usual one of the best covers. Its hard to do Def Leppard songs with multiple guitar layers.
Thanks, this series is easier than my old original covers as I’m just doing what Steve would do live.
As always very great job!

Great playing!!!
That was AMAZING!!! Totally spot on! I love these live in the round Clark covers!!! I need a time machine to see this concert in person!
Great playing and beautiful guitar🔥👍
NICE fretting on the 6-4-6 riff! I have to practice (Steal) that method!
You are on a roll today. Must be a slow Bank Holiday for you
Haha, my days off are spent notating and recording these
This is a awesome guitar cover
Nice cover and nice guitar
Great tone Ben, really cuts through, brilliant job as always mate 👍👍

You the man 😀

I always thought Steve didn't play the full solo interlude. Why do you think that is? Purely for dynamics? Great job as always
It’s a two guitar part on the album, and Steve is playing the part that stays on the first part, but with the added open D too.
@@bwm5150 wow I never knew it was like that on the album. Great ear!
Awesome Dr. Leppard. You know what would be cool is to do Phil's part then do a series with this series and split video.
A-ma-zing.
👍
Seteve clark foi muito injustiçado no mundo do rock

They’re not someone I’m looking to cover but maybe somewhere down the line.
Hell Yeah!!!!!! Why have you gone from the Jackson to the Charvel? Your the reason I started playing Jacksons. Seeing you playing a Charvel is almost blasphemous lol.
Why? They were pretty much the same company in the 80s.
