5:00 I can just listen to that Beautiful tone for hours and hours. Great cover sir. Def Leppard definitely had the Best Guitar Duo's ever. Steve Clark's Riff are really above everyone else plus their combine Solo with Phil Collen really stands out! Steve Clark is so proud and smiling right now.
They really created the ultimate pre-chorus/chorus in this one. And the double meaning of the lyrics are great as well. Thanks for making this gem jump off the screen with the sharp guitar cover.
Love your covers. You’ve been a personal inspiration. So much so, you spurred me on after 30+ years of not playing any instruments all my life, to helping me pick up a guitar and learn for myself (the past few years) bits n pieces, so much so, that I’m now tinkering away at songs like this as well as many others. Thank you.
Haven't seen your videos for a few years I used to watch them all the time and now getting back into them since the release of Hysteria 30th Anniversary you keep it up it literally sounds like you should be part of the band!
I keep coming back to this. It has so many great parts, great power chords etc. I was surprised to see Steve playing a Gibson Firebird in the live version of this track. Sadly there are no rig rundown clips I can find, as I always love hearing players talk about their gear. What a great player Steve Clark is and he is loved by so many. Love the tone your getting, hits the spot perfectly.
Thanks, it's something I try to do with every video, showing the different parts and even sometimes variations on how to play the same part but there's no doubt bits I miss here and there.
Hey I liked too much! I'm a great fan from Def Leppard in Brazil! I was stopped to play for years but now after to see you I think that I will be back!!! Really great :))))
Nutha brilliant effort from Ben. I just bought a new Jackson and it isa talking me time to tune it but these vids help so much. Steve as have penned endlessly was SO special. Amazing job mate.Dive bomb.
That was impressive, very smooth. The one thing I like about the studio version though is in Steve's solo that he half dampens the strings to make it a soft staccato attack to the strings, which gives it a distinct sound and feel to it - very cool 😎. I haven't even seen any live version where this is done though.
All your covers are stunning for me! Like @zaldy zr said it would be nice to see your cover of "It's All About Believin'" (but there is no pressure of course) ;) Also I must say that watching you keep inspire me as a "young" Def Leppard fan and guitarist when I'm lack of motivation! Keep it up! (sorry for my "not so flawless" english)
I really enjoy listening to your videos at work/ learning to play some of my favourite Def Leppard songs through the soundslice! I don't suppose you could do one for 'Let it go', that song sounds amazing live!!
Thanks! I don't/can't do the SoundSlices anymore (the website format has changed) but I do Patreon tabs and have a little in-depth analysis on Let It Go with some examples.
@@bwm5150 I've become a Patron! :D , Any plans to write the tabs for God's of War? I absolutely love that song! Really cool to see you doing guitar lessons for 80's rock/ metal though :)
Thanks for the support! I will be getting to that very soon on Patreon but if you check out my live cover of that, you'll find a SoundSlice tab that covers how the song was played on the In The Round concert.
Love your attention to detail in your videos. Mutt would be proud. At 0:55 are you just attacking the G, B, E strings and muting the other strings including the High E in that staccato fashion?
Wish you were in Canada man , Awesome Job.Looking for guitarists who can play like u can play, stylish. Keep up the Leppard Practice, you do an amazing job by them for sure \m/
No sweat man. I have been listening to Def Leppard Since 1984, and I must say , Although I am only 33 , I could still use a couple of lessons from you. lil riff here and there. one of these days I will post something and see what happens. I am just afraid to do so because I think that I am not that good yet lol
Really love this version of armageddon it hahaha, you really rock it man! I think I would like to hear you covering the It's All About Believin' from Mirrorball Album... Cheers!
Thanks mate. I will probably get to that song at some point in the future but it's not a track I listen to that much. In fact I could probably count on one hand how many times I've listened to it and I would have 4 fingers left over. :)
Hello again ,what song of last. def lepard work .let,s go?,man enough?,energized?,dangerous?im very nice know your kind to play and explendid cover with good mixed your Jackson with music record.althout i play bass guitard,is funy to ear and see you moving your fingers.congratulations.Jacinto,t next contact.
Lol i was wondering cuz the ones i been seeing now don't have a pick up in the center.. awesome job on that song, i been having difficultly on the rythm in the chorus. I'm having trouble hearing it
Im playin that song myself and having trouble hearing and learning how the chorus goes.. would you be willing to show how it's played maybe at a slower pace?
It works around the open chord shapes of G and D mainly. The highest note it goes to is always the 3rd of the B and that's either paired with the open G or the 2nd on the G.
You and Kenyon Denning should get together and make some sort of a collab thing. One of you could play Steve/Vivan parts, and the other could play Pete/Phil parts. Maybe get a bassist and drummer on board. You guys have the most accurate Def Leppard covers available.
You should start your own band and resurrect real rock!!! Just for fun, would you consider a cover on Autograph's Turn up the Radio?? It is a great song and I know you would do it justice man!
Top shelf as usual! Question if you would please? I started eguitar back in November and am a big DL fan. I've made it through Animal off your soundslice save for the bridge portion due to the harmonic squeals (mainly the second, higher pitched one). They're giving me fits. It looks like the same one here in this tune: D and/or G string(s) and it looks like you're hitting it between the 2nd and 3rd frets, closer to the 2nd? Am I seeing/hearing that right? Any tips on hitting this?
They're natural harmonics. They're easier to play on the 12th, 7th and 5th frets but you can also find them on the 4th, 3rd and 2nd frets (you can actually find more that one harmonic on these frets depending on where you lay your finger). On this song at the end I'm hitting harmonics on the 3rd fret, one closer to the 4th and one closer to the 2nd to produce different tones. These harmonics on the lower frets are easier to play when you depress the strings with a whammy bar.
***** Nice on the whammy bar tip! I've read about getting them (and yeah 12, 7, and 5 are cake), but the higher ones have been tough. The whammy bar tip is very helpful and I'm getting them to come out now. Many thanks! You're hitting just the G string or the G and D together?
Where has the cover of the album version gone? I can't find it in your library. Nothing wrong with this cover at all but I did really like the album cover.
I did a solo tutorial for Armageddon It a long time ago, check my tutorial playlists. I have written up a Hysteria tab among a couple others on my SoundSlice page. There's a link on my UA-cam channel page. :)
+Matymus76 Yeah I made up a tab for the live solos on my Facebook page facebook.com/bwm5150 . The trick with that part is that it has a little break in it where you miss a note out that's on the album version.

Awesomely played song, it should be a futuristic movie soundtrack, the intro is just amazing! 👏
Damn! Still one of the BEST covers I’ve heard!
This is F***ing Phenomenal. Excellent work, now i need to reconstruct this myself
This is just remarkable. I’ve been viewing this video nonstop from today morning.

my fav Lep song and a great tribute
Possibly my favourite also. Especially this live version. :)
+bwm5150 seeing them on tour in chicago in the round was unreal. Joe was my favorite until I saw Steve live

Best tonewise and stylewise, this guy could be Steve reincarnated.

On the Hysteria tour both Steve and Phil were using Randall RG100 pre amp heads, TC Electronics 1210 and 2290 into a Palmer speaker sim.

Yeah that kinda makes sense to me.

Just a question, Are you using Dimarzio super distortion pickups? Never used them myself so i am not sure if they are soapbar or dual rail?
My pickups are stock Duncan Design
Can you show how to do the outro solo?
Hot.
Do you have your awesome tabs for this one?? I can never quite get the timing right on the second part of the solo starting at 3:21.
+Matymus76 Yeah I made up a tab for the live solos on my Facebook page facebook.com/bwm5150 . The trick with that part is that it has a little break in it where you miss a note out that's on the album version.
fucking awesome. spot on. how do you have the amp settings set for that kind of tone?
Cheers. It's a crunchy/chunky like distortion with a compressor. I also put on a little chorus and delay where it suits :)
That fucking intro......!
Did you remove your volume button to get easy access to the tremolo bar or the pick up selection switch?
+shahed hasnat I removed it because I kept hitting it when playing.
nice work man! is the backing available for download anywhere?
Cheers! I’m playing over the In The Round concert from ‘88.
