SNKRX is a cool roguelite whose minimalist style betrays a surprising amount of depth and complexity. At first glance, it looks like a Snake clone with some roguelite elements over top of it, but it has a lot more than that going on. Check it out!

Wow! This game reminds me of another auto battler that’s not very well known. It’s called Super Auto Pets. I’m wondering if you could play it on stream sometime. I’m sure you’d love it! There’s a lot of juice and squeeze in it, I think you’d enjoy.
Trainer tips theme (never bothered to listen to the song in its entirety) totally surprised me out of no where. Think egg still plays some pokemon go while walking baybeh?

Snake Prescription
Awesome game for that price. But what’s the drive to play more if you won it in the first try? It’s kinda lame at that point, since you always know what would potentially work.
Understandably it won't provide the same enjoyment for everyone, but roguelikes in general often have that sense of wanting to experience and try different synergies/items. For example, playing again to try using units you've never used before. Or trying to make teams of only one unit type etc. And getting achievements as well ^^

I always knew in my heart auto chess would become a genre. I never knew it would make a beautiful child with my other love the roguelike. Good lord what hath we wrought.
remember that minesweeper roguelike? they're coming out with an autochess type mode soon, where each player has their own board that they upgrade to make harder over time, and a bot does the minesweeping while you make all the item and upgrade decisions

Y'all should try Vivid Knight. It's also autochess but dungeon crawling kind of like Darkest Dungeon

Man, watching you play and enjoy the process of learning a game you truly don’t know was blissful. It reminded me of my first run. I gifted all my friends and we all enjoyed it together. Show the dev some love, he’s the real hero.

I love how the whole snake becomes a character in and of itself, given passive synergies by the party you construct, each member of it doing its own thing
It's a cool mechanic and it has a lot of legs, if the dev chose this could be expanded really well

So glad NL is trying this, only done like 3-4 runs myself but loved it!
NL saying how good he is at the game while charging in to enemies and losing units brings me life
Watching NL play a new game always feels like one of those mobile ads, where they play so poorly you want to play it yourself just to show you could do it better. Only he doesn't do it on purpose
and it always takes a max of 2 episodes after which he's suddenly the god gamer descended from gaming heaven
I see him simply refusing to investigate aspects of the UI and game mechanics, he doesn't even realize there's a tutorial button, so much for his banter when he doesn't use his eyes
This philosophy is what compelled me to buy Slay the Spire, One Step From Eden, and more, I'm here for it

@@hrhrhrjrhrhrjrjrjkr It's the principle of his actions and not the results of his luck
Fun game but it has two problems which hurt replayability:
1. It feels like the skill in controlling the snake is worth way less than the skill to build a successful formation.
2. Multiplayer auto-chess is so engaging because you have to adapt to multiple opponent strategies on the fly. Here you only have to build synergies, which quickly creates optimal strategies, making the game trivial.
Overall it’s definitely worth it because of the price but it could be developed a bit more.
I mean if you're worried about replayability for a two dollar game, you're probably looking into the wrong kind of game.
I picked it up and honestly found it far more fun and engaging than TFT (which I tried out for a couple of seasons). In TFT, the game simply became "Google best TFT comp" and everyone tries to jam the best 2 every game with the best 2 items and win every game. You either get lucky and win, or don't and lose; not much to engage or adapt there. In a single player like this, you actually get to experiment with everything. If you're worried about min-maxing everything every time, rogue-lites probably aren't the right genre for you in the first place. It's all about experimenting and trying things out, even if you get wrecked in the first five minutes, not trying to make the game trivial.
@@BeerandCheez As someone who's played a lot of TFT (master currently), I do agree that the "meta comps" are solved very quickly and you usually do want to play them to do better. However the fun and skill of the game is adapting to the RNG the game gives you and picking your comp based on what units you hit and what other players are going and being flexible with what items you get and such. While you can do pretty well just forcing the top 1 or 2 best comps you'll do even better being flexible and imo it's way more fun playing that way.

Been playing this for weeks but watching the build you lucked into was a thrill. Warrior didn't even help your synergies but the aoe triple bombs with it and cannoneer were amazing.
I get so mad at him for not buying the vagrant the whole time. That'd been three synergies lol. Or he'd have to sell one unit, so maybe just two synergies. Anyway, missed opportunity.
I was already sold on this game, and then Pathfinder by Kubbi started playing.. now I have to get it myself.

Absolutely insane game concept
It is amazing how fresh something that just mashes two concepts together can feel and groundbreaking. Snake and roguelikes? Who would have ever thought to put those two things together? And yet watching this, it just somehow *works* so well.
The game has increased difficulty settings - each additional difficulty level allows for one more snake pice.
Anyone else okay if this becomes a thing on the channel for a bit?🤨

Anyone know what "Tetris Roguelike" he was talking about towards the start? Not finding anything like that on Steam, would love to play it. Ton of stuff on itch or the web, like Infidhells, but not sure what's on Steam he's talking about.
There's an old Nimblebit mobile game very similar to this, I don't think it's still up on any of the stores. Nimblequest, I think it was? Huge nostalgia from 2014 for me lol.
In fact, there might be so much extra sauce, it's no extra sauce anymore. IT'S THE WHOLE GAME :o
It’s not a new concept of the gameplay. There was an old mobile game “Nimble Quest” with the same idea, also now you can find some mobile games under names like “Snake Hero” or “Snake Heroes” with the same gameplay but also with the graphic instead of the colored spots.
Snake and the bowling game were fun. :) but I didn't have my first cell until 2004 when I went to college.
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere but this also feels like a more polished version of this Halfbrick Studios mobile game called Colossatron.
Ryan if you get the chance you should check out "Geometry Arena" its reminds me a lot of old "Geometry Wars" but a roguelike and its hella fun and cheap.
