Hey Matt, when it comes to your zen garden: 1. The reason plants gain a yellow glow is because you have to water them then either use bug spray (green spray) or music player. 2. as you saw before, they can only consume chocolate when they have a yellow glow (when they're happy) 3. sadly, the afk mechanic for money making for the zen garden only applies to mobile 4. However, keep taking care of plants you get in your garden! a fully sized plant sells for the most money! to get a plant to full size, you'll obviously need to use fertilizer to figure out what the plant is, then use it again two more times, after you water it (also, only water and use fertilizer when a plant asks for it of course!) hope this helps :)
Tip: Matt, the amount of coins you get for selling plants is based off of how grown they are. Plants that you just got sell for 3,000, slightly grown plants sell for 5,000, and full grown plants sell for 8,000. Marigolds however can be bought from crazy Dave for cheap, so they sell for 1,000, then 2,000 and then 3,000, Water and night plants sell for a lot more, their starting sell price is 5,000, and don’t sell glowing plants, glowing plants are happy and make coins, you don’t get anything extra for selling them, you just waste bug spray, btw everything people are saying about the winter melon (including me) was for the original pc and mobile versions. Also, when you get the aquarium garden, right click anywhere on it. Tip regarding the Winter Melon Firing Speed: It is firing at half the speed, but not compared to the Melon Pult, compared to the Peashooter Family. Every Catapult Plant actually fires at the same rate but all have something to compensate for this (Example: Cabbage-Pult shots do double damage compared to normal Peas, Kernel-Pult do reduced damage but have chances to stun.) So in reality every Pult Plant fires at 'half speed', why its only mentioned in the Winter Melon Entry, I don't know lol
2 years late here, but another thing about the winter melon is that the damage stat in almanac is false, the winter melon actually has the exact same damage as the regular melon-pult
Tip: the levels progress by you killing zombies. At the start, you can keep stalling zombies by freezing or making them eat walnuts so the level progresses slower.
You Can actually get the yeti in wall nut bowling (i got it on xbox Idk if its on PC) Fact: the yeti is not a zombie its a robot since in pvz garden warfare(shooter game) when you kill him he turns into metal parts

Hey Matt, for the fume shroom garlic strat, when on a pool level you want to put the fume shrooms adjacent to the pool, and garlics in front since the sides do a lot more damage than the front, and if there's a zomboni in the level be sure to place spikerocks/weeds in front of the garlic.
Yes Matt, you are meant to cycle the plants, especially the Merygolds because as you know u get 3k from em. Not only that they drop the gold coins which give you a decent bonus. Idk if its worth it tho because you barely make any profit it seems like. Thats how you're meant to earn money in pvz but you can always do glitches :)
Hey Matt, for night levels, you should prioritise a lot more on your puff shrooms rather than your sun shrooms. They’re one of the best defensive plants, so the spammier the better.
Tip: On the roof levels, you should fill all of the extra plant tiles with pots for they can bait or bungee zombies and provide a little extra defense.
matt here's a tip, the bigger the plants are in the zen garden the more they'll sell for. If they have a gold glow that means that they have hit the max.

Tip:- Melon-pults and Winter-Melon have same speed and same damage but you can slow down the zombies with a winter melon and its really an advantage for fast zombies like football zombie, newspaper zombie after losing newspaper and obviously the IMP zombie.
Hey Matt, just reminding you, one of the hardest minigames are Pogo Party. Pogo Party will have a lot of Pogo Zombies and only a few regular zombies. This minigame is pretty hard, so you basically need Melon-pults, Winter Melons, Tall-nuts/Wall-nuts, and Pumpkins,Coffee Bean, Magnet shroom, and the "pear" and other explosive plants. You can also get an achievement if you complete Pogo Party without using Wallnut, Tallnut, or Pumpkin.

Trivia for Matt: Some plants cannot be placed on Pumpkins. They are 1. Pumpkin. You cannot place Pumpkin in Pumpkin unless you have a Wall-nut First Aid. 2. Tangle Kelp. 3. Sea-shroom. 4. Grave Buster. 5. Cob Cannon. You can place spikeweeds or their upgrade in the Pumpkin, but it doesnt make sense. like so matt sees
Tip: When using catapult plants mixing in a few Kernel-pults really helps, it does a little extra support damage, can be used as a staller (for last resort) and have butter. Mix this will chill effect and zombies will have lots of trouble progressing.
On the top-left corner of the plant almanac, there you'll see the French potat Imitater's entry. EDIT: Magnet Shrooms are really good in PVZ 2. Not gonna spoil anything, just saying.
Just in case you didn't know, here's a list of what Magnet Shroom can steal Buckets Screen Doors (and Trash Cans, but that's just a reskin) Football Helmets Jack-In-The-Boxes (this prevents the zombie from exploding) Pickaxes (the digger will surface immediately and walk forward like a normal zombie) Pogo Sticks Ladders (the magnet won't be climbed over if a zombie reaches him)

Tip 1. Two Puffshrooms are enough to take down a zombie. Tip 2. Put atleast 5 sunflowers on the most left corner. Tip 3. If a zombie walks over 2 spikeweeds simultaneously, the zombie gets a lot weak. So i put two spikeweeds on the most right side.

A bit of a tip for PvZ 2. Lawnmowers in pvz2 will give you extra coins at the end of the level if not used same as pvz1, so don't always allow the zombies to activate them. Also In Pvz the Magnet shroom can steal the pickaxe from a miner zombie which makes it so he can't dig. Love your vids and I hope theses tips help.
Yup, I saw the Zombie Yeti very recently and got him down to get five diamonds on first encounter! My lockdown strategy: Block his escape by using a defensive plant, so that he’ll be forced to bite his way out or die.
Hey matt, in the Ps3, Xbox360 and DS version of PvZ, there is a gamemode called vs. mode where one player plays the zombies and one plays the plants. You can still play this on P.C. with other people using mods and emulation. I would love to see you play it if you can.

Hello Mister Matt Shea. I believe that adding a pumpkin to your plants increases their hitbox, meaning they will be more vulnerable to the zombonis and will get squished. Thanks for the awesome videos!
Hey Matt, dont sell the small plants in the zen garden. grow them to full size and then sell them. they will be worth much more. also, the mushrooms need to grow in the mushroom garden and aquatic plants need to grow in the aquarium. you will also need a wheelbarrow to move them between gardens. all of those can be bought in the shop
To explain winter melons do more damage and the 1/2x is referring to the fact that melons and other catapult plants shoot slower then peashooters, so in the end it’s better to turn all your melons into winter melons as they are the same however winter melons slow and do more damage
Hey Matt, you can set up an infinite money farm! when completing a minigame, DONT COLLECT TO DIAMOND, instead leave, and then come back as many times as you need and collect it over and over again! (if you have mowers u get bonus money too!)
Winter melon has more Damage Tile Ratio thanks to its slowdown, DTR is How many peas worth of damage was dealt to a zombie while it was on a tile. Say Peashooter has around 3 DTR. Snow Pea has about 5 DTR due to the slowdown, therefore making it better. Winter melon actually does 1 less pea of damage than Melon-pult but again, the slowdown brings up its DTR quite a lot. Cob Cannon has the same DTR as squash, cherry bomb, etc. So there’s your confirmation lol

I think the half speed thing is for the zombies that were hit, not for the speed of the winter melon itself, I can't say if one of their shots is stronger, but because they slow, the overall damage till the zombies get to them is more.

Buy the night garden because theres more chance that you have night plants and less chance for water plants, help for more coins and plus 5% for completing the game.And also upgrade the tree of windsdom.
Play plants vs zombies 2. It has WAY more plants, and way more levels. After that, play the Eclise mod. It's like pvz 2, but it's more balanced. I bet you Matt won't see this
Tip: when your doing the pool level at night you can put the shroomlights in the lanes closest to each other and if you have them across each other then you can illuminate all lanes with much cost. Tip2: When playing day levels you should use imitator on the sunflower then also have a sunflower so now you have 2 sunflowers, by doing this you can have a easy start with lots of sunflowers, though you can also use the imitator sunflower as a shield so you can get sun and be protected.
Tip: Potato mines can kill miners even while they are underground. This being because they are dug into the ground. So if you have miners and don’t want to worry about them you can create a column of potato mines for pretty cheap.
Tip: other plants have health that cant regen so if a pea shooter is getting biten but it didnt die and it was getting eating for a long time then it has low health so you should replant it so it doesnt die straight away
Fun fact: In order to get access to the cheat code "daisies" you need to grow the Tree of Wisdom to 100ft I believe. And each subsequent one requires another hundred/fifty feet.
Matt, if you get the Wall-Nut first aid you can repair your garlics when they're low on health, rather then have them be eaten and allowing the zombies to get through You can also use it on Wall-Nuts I guess, but who'd do that?

Here’s a fun tip I like to do. If you hypnotize the disco zombie he’ll spawn friendly zombies with him to attack enemy zombies. It’s real cool!

I always watch your videos a few days or weeks after they get posted, this is the first time I caught a new one. hopefully now my likes will help your videos get some more impressions for you Matt.
Tip 1. Two Puffshrooms are enough to take down a zombie.
Tip 2. Put atleast 5 sunflowers on the most left corner.
Tip 3. If a zombie walks over 2 spikeweeds simultaneously, the zombie gets a lot weak. So i put two spikeweeds on the most right side.
Tip: Digger zombies explode from potato-mine even if they are underground.
It would be cool to see Matt eventually work towards completing most, if not all, of the achievements

A bit of a tip for PvZ 2. Lawnmowers in pvz2 will give you extra coins at the end of the level if not used same as pvz1, so don't always allow the zombies to activate them. Also In Pvz the Magnet shroom can steal the pickaxe from a miner zombie which makes it so he can't dig. Love your vids and I hope theses tips help.
Yup, I saw the Zombie Yeti very recently and got him down to get five diamonds on first encounter!
My lockdown strategy: Block his escape by using a defensive plant, so that he’ll be forced to bite his way out or die.
Hey matt, in the Ps3, Xbox360 and DS version of PvZ, there is a gamemode called vs. mode where one player plays the zombies and one plays the plants. You can still play this on P.C. with other people using mods and emulation. I would love to see you play it if you can.

Hey Matt, I was a bit ill today so I decided to watch this video. And also I have a tip for you. If you organize your plants in Zen Garden by plant, it could make it easier to water your plants.
Tip: Cattails are very OP so save your money to buy them and use them in pool levels or fog levels

Tip:Go and spend 50 sun for two tangle kelps for emergency in the water, if even better if four and have sea shrooms.
Tip: Magnet shroom can also take the ladder, pogo stick, and jack in the box out of the zombies that are carrying those and outrunning your defense.

Hello Mister Matt Shea. I believe that adding a pumpkin to your plants increases their hitbox, meaning they will be more vulnerable to the zombonis and will get squished. Thanks for the awesome videos!

Hey Matt, dont sell the small plants in the zen garden. grow them to full size and then sell them. they will be worth much more. also, the mushrooms need to grow in the mushroom garden and aquatic plants need to grow in the aquarium. you will also need a wheelbarrow to move them between gardens. all of those can be bought in the shop
To explain winter melons do more damage and the 1/2x is referring to the fact that melons and other catapult plants shoot slower then peashooters, so in the end it’s better to turn all your melons into winter melons as they are the same however winter melons slow and do more damage
Tip: don’t use sea shromes because it takes a long time to get a new one. Tip: plant a puff shrome on a lily pad

when completing a minigame, DONT COLLECT TO DIAMOND, instead leave, and then come back as many times as you need and collect it over and over again! (if you have mowers u get bonus money too!)
Winter melon has more Damage Tile Ratio thanks to its slowdown, DTR is How many peas worth of damage was dealt to a zombie while it was on a tile. Say Peashooter has around 3 DTR. Snow Pea has about 5 DTR due to the slowdown, therefore making it better. Winter melon actually does 1 less pea of damage than Melon-pult but again, the slowdown brings up its DTR quite a lot. Cob Cannon has the same DTR as squash, cherry bomb, etc. So there’s your confirmation lol
Nah winter melon has the same damage as the melon pult even in the game code it has the same damage value(80)

Hey Matt, just wanted to say a few things. 1. Ur the best yt and I love these pvz vids. 2. I can’t wait till u play pvz 2 because I know you like a challenge and there are some really hard levels! 3. I’d recommended you buy pvz garden warfare 2 (1 if u want but 2 is better in my opinion) it’s basically a shooter game that’s team vs team so plants vs zombies and you can be peashooter, sunflower, etc. it’s really fun and anyway can’t wait for more vids!!!

Here is a tip : Magnet-shrooms takes the box away from the jack in the box zombie.
Fact/tip? : in Zen garden when Marigolds grow to there 2nd size the marigolds give u diamonds while other plants in zen garden give 1, 2, & 3 gold coins.

I think the half speed thing is for the zombies that were hit, not for the speed of the winter melon itself, I can't say if one of their shots is stronger, but because they slow, the overall damage till the zombies get to them is more.

Play plants vs zombies 2. It has WAY more plants, and way more levels. After that, play the Eclise mod. It's like pvz 2, but it's more balanced. I bet you Matt won't see this

Tip: when your doing the pool level at night you can put the shroomlights in the lanes closest to each other and if you have them across each other then you can illuminate all lanes with much cost.
Tip2: When playing day levels you should use imitator on the sunflower then also have a sunflower so now you have 2 sunflowers, by doing this you can have a easy start with lots of sunflowers, though you can also use the imitator sunflower as a shield so you can get sun and be protected.
I like how everytime Matt makes a PVZ video he gets commented with tips.

Tip : Type ‘Future’ to get the zombies with glasses 👓
Tip: buy presents instead of plants for the zen garden, as presents have a chance to be something thats not a marigold
I had this wierd strat in pvz where I fill all but the first column with garlic and the rest have corn-a-pults
Tip: Potato mines can kill miners even while they are underground. This being because they are dug into the ground. So if you have miners and don’t want to worry about them you can create a column of potato mines for pretty cheap.
To bad the cooldown on it tho
Tip: other plants have health that cant regen so if a pea shooter is getting biten but it didnt die and it was getting eating for a long time then it has low health so you should replant it so it doesnt die straight away
Fun fact: In order to get access to the cheat code "daisies" you need to grow the Tree of Wisdom to 100ft I believe. And each subsequent one requires another hundred/fifty feet.
Matt, if you get the Wall-Nut first aid you can repair your garlics when they're low on health, rather then have them be eaten and allowing the zombies to get through
You can also use it on Wall-Nuts I guess, but who'd do that?
