Tip for gargantuars: During any level you can have puff shrooms and Imitater as puff shroom to deal with gargantuars because they hit so slow you can use those two plants to stall him without needing to slow him down OR if there are 2 gargantuars on screen you can slow them both down (with winter melon or snow pea) and use puff shroom for 1 and imitater for the other to stall both of them. They don't need to be awake for it to work either so you can use it on daytime levels
The rooflevels are harder as he squishes the pot which does cost sun and can take a bit to be ready again Basically you'll be slowly losing money until 20 of my winter welons or snow peas kill him and the pots take 1 extra hit from gargantuar to reload
Tip: I'm fairly sure that the Good Morning achievement can only be obtained by planting Mushrooms and ONLY Mushrooms. Basically that means anything else like Lily Pads and even Flower Pots are not allowed, therefore attempting the achievement is far harder on both Pool and Roof levels, ESPECIALLY Roof, due only having a maximum of 15 tiles to work with. Shield plants are also not allowed, meaning you're gonna have to get creative with using other Mushrooms as meat shields.
Tip: if you want to get the good morning achievement, try to stall the zombies with puff-shrooms until you get one of them awake. For roof levels, you cannot use flower pots, or else you won't get it, so I wouldn't recommend doing this on the roof
Tip sorta: when playing adventure (2nd time) you can change the selection of plants Dave chooses by quitting the game and going back in, to my knowledge there is no limit on how many times it can be done or on what level you’re on

the best way to get the good morning achievement is by playing level 1 of adventure cause it's just a bunch of zombies, im not sure if you can go back in pc, but in mobile it allows you to play previous adventure levels. you could also use puffshroom and imatated puffshroom as shields, plant only 3 sunshrooms on the same lane, wait till 300 sun to plant fume shroom, coffee bean, and gloom shroom. hope this helps :)
you can also just use scaredy shroom with coffe bean, like if they were just peashooters. The cost, range and damage are the same and it's like you play sunflowerless with peashooter
Tip: Sell the fully grown plants that you use in Battle from your Zen Garden (Peashooter, Pear, etc) And you should get around 8-10 thousand coins for that I hope this helps

Matt, when you play PvZ 2, just know, Electric Reed is amazing It does little damage but it can hit on 3 lanes and it's attack can go through zombies, plus, in PvZ 2 you can upgrade plants to do more damage so you can upgrade him to do more damage and be even more effective
PVZ things: 1.Using a ice shroom right before the final wave of zombies appears it will "freeze" the pool and there wont be any underwater zombies. 2.the best plant for survival endless is: 4-24 cob cannons + glooms + winter melons. Don't forget to put pumpkins on them! 3.after getting the night zen garden thing the night plants will give you 3 gold coins when you give them fertilizer/play music to them. You also get 3 diamonds instead of 2 when groing them to there fulk size

Warning ⚠️ Matt, whatever you do in the PVZ universe, and I mean this. When you start your journey in PVZ2 sometime in the future, DO NOT spend real money on the game. The money will go straight to EA and it won't be worth it since most the plants that cost money are either useless or very similar to free plants.
Sea shroom is a mushroom AND an aquatic plant, however, he is more of an aquatic plant since he can't grow in the mushroom garden Besides you can only use him in fog (pool if you selected Coffee Bean)
Pro Tip: If you are playing on pool,fog and roof and aquired the ice shroom and if you remember all of those stages have final rushes like pool spawns ducky tube zombies, same also with fog and roof spawns bungee zombies and they bring zombies with them welp ice shroom is you're best bet of final rushes if you place the ice shroom and coffee bean him (if you're at the pool and roof cuz its daytime) he freezes all the final rushes and they'll never appear again just the final wave zombies.
On the IOS, Android, and Nook version of the game, the hardest achievement is probably "Lucky Spin". In order to get it, you must get 3 diamonds in the Slot Machine on the Slot Machine mini-game. There's no cheat, manipulation or any exploit to get it, it's just pure luck.
Tip: Even if the puff shrooms don't do DMG, a zero stun stalling for even a few seconds can win you a game. And if you have a ton of those stallers, it makes games a lot easier. Use puff shrooms more matt!
Early PvZ2 Tip: Sun Production is insane in PvZ2 this makes it better to plant sunflowers in the front as they are easily expendable. My general rule of thumb is to plant 3 rows 2 rows away from your house. This stops zombies from just killing your attackers and with many rows of sunflowers you gain so much sun.

As someone who's played and beaten every level of both pvz 1 and 2 multiple times, I can can confirm that pvz2 has an unholy difficulty compared to pvz 1
on survival endless, upgrade plants will get more expensive the more you plant them. For example twin sunflowers costs 150 sun. If you plant one, its sun cost will increase to 200 suns, and so on. That is also apply to other upgrade plants as well

Hey matt heres a tip you can place a tall nut on a lane at the end next to the lawn mower and then place spike weeds infront which is really helpful and you can make the spike weeds stronger by using the metal version thing

Hey mat! You should make your plants happy (its whene they glow) and feed stinky the snail chocolate!it's very useful for farming money. (Note: be online for this to work and constantly re do everything) also extra tips: keep maragolds untill you run out of plant space and thene replace theme with other plants for the normal garden, other gardens are used for extra money so water theme and dont use fly deterent but the musicbox is valuable and useful. Anoyher tip: whene you swap to a different garden with tons of coins and if stinky is awake he will clean the entire screen
Tip:If you buy a wall nut thing from crazy dave's twidydinkies you'd buy it and if your wall nut is damaged just put a wall nut on a wall nut to fix it it also works on tall nuts
Fun fact (maybe only on mobile): If you scroll farther than the achievements in the achievement section, there will be a special surprise waiting at the bottom
2 tips: 1: for Dr zomboss the ice shroom can be placed in any lame and will stop the flame but the jalapeño has to be in the same lane as the ice thing. 2: if you have extra pots put then 2 squares away from Dr zomboss so every once in a while he will smash the pot giving you a few extra seconds to do something
Tip in PvZ 2 the purple packs don't need to be placed on the regular pants that need them you can just place them they have their own seed pack so it save you an extra slot in PVZ 2
Last stand endless dont exist on pc/steam. It only exists on the phone version. But survival endless exists on any version so do that instead. Do look up on cob cannon setups for survival endless so you can last longer. The 20 cob cannon strat is the most reliable but hand breaking strat

Hey mat! You should make your plants happy (its whene they glow) and feed stinky the snail chocolate!it's very useful for farming money. (Note: be online for this to work and constantly re do everything) also extra tips: keep maragolds untill you run out of plant space and thene replace theme with other plants for the normal garden, other gardens are used for extra money so water theme and dont use fly deterent but the musicbox is valuable and useful. Anoyher tip: whene you swap to a different garden with tons of coins and if stinky is awake he will clean the entire screen
Fun fact the allergy zombie that dies to a nut is a lot more rare then one other death that is a little more common to see

1: for Dr zomboss the ice shroom can be placed in any lame and will stop the flame but the jalapeño has to be in the same lane as the ice thing.
2: if you have extra pots put then 2 squares away from Dr zomboss so every once in a while he will smash the pot giving you a few extra seconds to do something

Tip in PvZ 2 the purple packs don't need to be placed on the regular pants that need them you can just place them they have their own seed pack so it save you an extra slot in PVZ 2
