NYC is where I was born! it's the greatest city in the world. It's ALIVE.
Agree I love it. Do you still live there?
@@shaunvlog sadly no!!!! I hope you check out Queens. It's not beautiful, but it's incredibly rich in culture.
@@shaunvlog I just came back from a trip to Tokyo, where I took a local food tour called Culinary Backstreets. All local family businesses. It was incredible. They also do food tours in Queens, and I recommend the hell out of this company.
@@shaunvlog NYC is the crossroads of the world. It's where everyone lives next to each other, works hard, cross pollinates. When I go to New York, I can feel the air. It's alive. There is no such thing as FOMO in New York, because you have a front row seat.
Absolutely @loosilu 💯 The greatest! It has a heartbeat, indeed❤ Always happy to read a comment from someone who understands!! If I read one more talking about "but other places have good food" or "try the smaller cities" etc.. and? I don't know why anyone feels the need to point that stuff out rather than simply make a positive comment on something in the video. No need to compare the City to anyplace else & it's pointless because nowhere compares anyway. Oh well.. some get it, some don't. If ya know, ya know 😉
New Yorker here...I love sauerkraut, mustard and ketchup on my dog....
Another New Yorker. Same.
catsup???
Wow, man!!! You look like you were born & raised in New York 👍. The city must speak to your heart. Enjoy your time there ☺️.
America is blessed with more delicious food than you can eat.
Why did your friends assume that we only get hot dogs with mustard when in the United States you can get hot dogs a hundred different ways, and every state and town has their specialty hot dogs. I like a good Chicago dog or a good chili cheese dog. Many people put Relish in onions on their hot dog or sauerkraut. I have seen some incredibly good hot dogs in person and on videos!
His friends are from Brasil and likely don't know much about the wide variation of cuisine in America. Hot dogs in New York are not the same as in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Arizona, NEw Mexico, Alaska, etc. There are different types of hot dogs within NYC as I'm sure you know.
@@gmunden1 Exactly that was my point. Many people from other countries don't realize that the United States is the size of a continent. They go to one city and think it's like that everywhere. I live 2 hours from New York City and where I live in the mountains it's completely different than New York City and yes we have great food here and we don't have to go to New York City for good food.
Brasil is even bigger than the continental US and their style of hotdog doesn’t change much from region to region. It’s more about not understanding how many cultural differences there are from region to region that influence the different styles!
It's nice to hear that the Chelsea neighborhood has been revamped. But I lived in NY in the 70s and 80s. You would not want to go near there.
You know you're in a Korean BBQ restaurant when they break out the scissors.
Thanks for your videos I really enjoy them! ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻✌🏻
Thank you for watching I appreciate it
Before the pandemic ther were 23,000 registered eating places in NYC which with 3 meals per day at a different place takes 21 years to try them all. By then, some are gone and you've missed others!
I don’t know why people are surprised you like NYC so much. In my opinion, it’s the best, most exciting city in the world! It’s the city of all cities.
London comes again in a close second for two reasons. 1) NYC bars and restaurants are open later than those in London and 2) NYC food is better than in London. Sorry, Londoners, I love London and have spent some time there but the food in NYC is better.
I’ve spent a lot of time in London and this is all true
I was born and raised in the Bronx and NYC suburbs and though I haven’t lived there in ages, I will always have a soft spot for NYC. I still visit regularly and like you, I love the food. Some foods I just can’t get here in DC area, or they don’t taste as good. My friends and I are planning a food weekend in NYC later this winter. We plan to try places we’ve always wanted to go to and maybe sign up for a cooking class. I’m paying attention to the places you visit just in case we want to try one of them. .
You guys are practically honorary New Yorkers by now
The tacos looked really good!
I completely understand your love for NYC. I lived there very young (my first apartment just after school) during the 1964 World's Fair. My job at the United Nations provided me with complimentary admission to Broadway shows, Carnegie Hall concerts and travel in the area.
You cannot begin to compare restaurants available then. Had a favorite French restaurant near Rockefeller Center. The Jewish Delicatessens on third avenue had the best Kosher sandwiches. Skating in Central Park in the evenings and eating pizza at the rink. ........
Those were the days, Ann, huh? Was it La Bonne Soupe you were thinking of?
Oh that sounds amazing - thanks for sharing Ann
@@LindaC616 Champlain.
@@annfrost3323 hmm, never went to that one
The best fish tacos I've ever had were in Manhattan. Next time you're in NYC, go try Gray's Papaya in the Upper Westside. I'd love to see your reaction.
You have to try fish tacos in Tijuana or San Diego. Sooo good! I'm sure those are great, you almost can't go wrong with fish tacos. But a couple of them, grilled over a fire, with a beer, on the beach -- shouldn't be missed.
Just come to San Diego already. Try those taco's where they originated from.
Oh I absolutely will. In time. And money. But I will
I love San Diego, but wouldn't the origin of the taco be Mexico?
Texas is actually where tacos come from. fish tacos come from Baja/San Diego area. tacos are an American invention. Which is why many Mexicans come to America to try tacos from here. @@neutrino78x
As many times as I went to visit my frined in her Brooklyn (worked at 30 Rock) days, I don't think I ever went to Chelsea market!
Great video. Los Tacos 1 is fantastic . Multiple locations in Manhattan.
I ❤ NYC
That cover on chopsticks made Me giggle. lol
I have veggie hot dogs, my husband has regular but we always put sauerkraut on it.
I think NYC is a place most people either love or hate. Not much in-between.
I love it... for three days. Then, for three days I hate it. And then for three days+ after that I hate the entire human race until I leave.
@Evil0tto Same here. The novelty and excitement wears off and it's just another city.
After a couple hours I hate it and I want to leave.
I miss it so much!
I hope you’ll visit City Island, the South Street Seaport and Little Italy in the Bronx.
Must. Come. To. N.J. for exceptional subs, pizza and Taylor Ham/Egg/Cheese sandwich!
I apologized for not being able to see this 5 days ago Shaun but at seeing it at exactly 446 AM on 12/10/2023
The real K town is in Flushing, Queens.
Did you try the ceviche at the taco place?
have you seen a Broadway show yet?
I've become addicted to Valentina hot sauce. If you haven't tried it you might want to give it a go.
Should we mention that fish tacos were invented in San Diego, CA.
When will you have your DYU e-bike video ready for release?
In 3-6 weeks time
Food eaten outside is always better.
Oy, I heard "dirty water hotdogs." Took a while to understand you meant "three dollar hotdogs."
Awesome
Dirty water hot Dogs are the best
Get an egg cream. There’s no egg and no cream.
Shaun, we have 35,000 cities and towns in the United States and thousands of miles of suburbs and country living. I know there's a lot of great food in New York City but there is a lot of great delicious food all over the entire country. We do not have to drive to New York City for good food. We get great food in many places all over the country for a fraction of the price.
Yep, I know that. But I still enjoy NYC.
lmfao, are you kidding, no place compares to the food you can get in NYC.
I'm pretty sure he knows that, you don't have to scroll down his videos very far to see him in California, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania all within the last year or so. And that was just a quick glance, I'm sure there's more.
Having said that, and as an upstate New Yorker that had my fill of the city after a single visit, I still can't argue against the variety of food available there being attractive. 🤷♂️
" We do not have to drive to New York City for good food."
Americans generally fly from one place that matters, for example, the San Francisco Bay Area, to the other, the Northeast Corridor. Yours is known as a flyover state. lmao
"and country living."
Ok, and the "country living" is not people of similar mindset to Europe. Another reason why those are "flyover" areas. Anybody from a decent area, such as San Francisco or Paris or Edinburgh, would not want to go there, ok.
@@umaiarExactly! It's having things from all over the world. All-in-one place! I haven't been to Manhattan in a few years now. And I do miss Manhattan and Brooklyn so much! The ability to wander and come upon a new place that wasn't a chain ...and the same with small shops. it was just so much fun. now my friend lives in Bronx and it's all chain restaurants and it's kind of boring.
I would choose a hot dog over pizza. It’s simple, tasty, convenient, and filling. Pizza is too greasy and leaves a heavy filling in the stomach that can last for hours. Plus, it’s not easy to walk and eat pizza at the same time.
My daughter lives in Manhattan and it's a great place to visit but after a week of walking I'm ready to go home.
Oh yeah it’s a tiring place for sure. Does your daughter enjoy it?
I had a bro in NYC in the 80's and one in Ct. When NYC bro needed normalcy, he could hop a train to Connecticut and be, "back on earth", as he would say. Lol.
When you live here, you get used to walking & your body adjusts! Great exercise! And you don't try to cram 100 things into the same days & week like a tourist😉😅
@@pat2562 for me NYC is normalcy
Never heard of a dirty water hot dog. Interesting.
Re: "There are so many things to eat in NYC and you could never eat them all in one life time." That explains the rat problem.
I doubt Brazil has the best hot dog in the world.
I was born and raised on a farm in Colorado and have lived in Idaho for the last 40yrs. I could never see my self visiting yet living in a big city like New York. Not only that there wouldn't be any where for me to park all my hotrods let alone drive them fast lol.
On the flip side, you might get a lot of good attention with those awesome cars in the city!!!
@@shaunvlog YA, just enough to get them stolen lol. BTW I'm so glad you are enjoying your visit in the states. I've been following you since the video of you walking down the road (down south somewhere) worrying about the dangerous wild animals we have roaming around. I hate to say it but it made me laugh because when you grow up around those animals you just learn to live with the idea that one just might be around the corner at anytime. Heck I remember my grandmother chasing a bear with a broom because it wandered in the yard when us kids were playing.
You have been in the States so many times that you are learning Spanish 😊
Sea in Spanish is Mar. Therefore Mariscos.
Haha yeah - I actually got it from the similarities to Portuguese which I speak fluently 😊
Sorry man, but I told myself if he puts ketchup on that hot dog I've gotta click off...😂
I knew that was coming 😅
@@shaunvloghold strong, Shaun!

I'm glad you are enjoying NY. I enjoyed my visit there several years ago. NYC is in the news A LOT right now - for all the wrong reasons - pro-terrorist demonstrations, violence against random strangers, homelessness epidemic. Honestly, you could not PAY me enough money to go to NY right now!!!!
Cracks me up that all you British or Australians or Europeans think they’re seeing the US by visiting these cities and miss the heart of America.
I’ve literally been all over the US. I still prefer NY.
the chelsea market was the site of the original natinal biscuit company now nabisco built in 1890. a train use to run through the building then
