I'm literally getting that pedal after his demo of it. 😂 I've been trying to build a creative load of pedals for recording. He does a phenomenal job showcasing what they can do, without all the BS.
I'm in the middle of a serious re-think of my approach to music. I have a small setup at home based around two Roland guitar synths, a GR-50 I bought in 1990 or so and a GR-55 I bought about 5 years ago, but in some ways I'm dissatisfied with them. I'll hang onto them but I'm leaning in a direction that's much less conventional than I've been dabbling in, so less conventional items like the Enzo, the Black Hole Symmetry and the Bad Robot Wardenclyffe are striking a real chord with me at the moment (pun intended). Maybe I should get my old 4-track cassette portastudio out of the closet and back into use again while I'm at it.
@@Hellion421 Yeah it's not too bad, I could afford it, but it would not be financially responsible for me at this point in time :(. I bought myself a new bass a few months back and that was not cheap.
I just wanted you to know, I bought one of these (got it today) because of this video. Initially found it back in June, was finally able to order the pedal on Monday of this week. It arrived today. I'm on Quarantine, but the spouse is going to pick it up from the Post Office for me. So very very excited! And I have an octave pedal that should be in tomorrow as well, so I can use that with the fuzz feature, and play *Dopethrone!* Very very excited. So terribly excited! Thank you for this video, mate!
Great video. Lately I come here for inspiration how to chain and use the effects I already have. Like probably many of us, I already have fuzz, delay, reverb pedals, and some sort of crappy multi fx. With that you get close to these sounds already, plus you can experiment with the order, fuzz last is my personal preference for crazy soundscapes.
Narration is another reason to watch this video few more times. Holesale box full of void. Stephen Hawking’s signature pedal. I want to get drunk and listen to Knobs playing into the sunset
I bought the pedal yesterday. Went to the guitar store for a walrus slo, came out with black hole symmetry, thanks to watching this video on the commute there. Thank you knobs. Amazing pedal day one
I want to live inside what you are playing 5:50 to 6:30 For the love of fuckin' God release that into a song. Even a 2 minute interlude style track would do. Happy new year.
I want these knobs on my pedalboard. It would replace 3-5 pedals (I've got two delays and two reverb pedals on, one of each might still be kept onboard).
I own this, had it for about a month now. I’ve done much fiddling around with it. I guess it’s true magic is when it’s combined with other pedals, maybe my FM4 Modulator.
i love your videos, always have, been here since the early days but you’ve basically just become the perfect advert for all these pedal companies, to which they sell out immediately, most of them unaffordable. it’s worked so much that you get them sent for free so that you can just make a nice video. i’m not trying to sound like it’s a bad thing because fair fucks, you gotta make a living somehow. i just felt inspired by you sharing some really interestingly made pedals but there’s just so many now that it just seems ridiculous. they’re just really expensive toys at the end of the day. i’ve been lucky enough to buy a few when the timing has been right, but i’m sure it feels shit for a lot of people missing out, really wanting to do something really creative with these products. not really sure what i’m getting at, other than i feel like you’re just making these videos for the sake of business, rather than for personal creative purposes, like you used to. i dunno. i still enjoy watching them, so as you were.
AT HOMME yeah i know that, but i wasn’t referring to this particular pedal, it’s just something i’ve been thinking of for a while and just decided to post it on this video because i felt like saying it today. i’m still amazed by the actual product, but it’s still an advert.
Yes you're right , that has been on my mind too..i'm so glad you said that.Knobs is more style over function, nicely done, great concept, but a lot of us are missing out on creative experimentation because there are too many pedals and boards that all sound similar (and expensive). Black Hole Symmetry for example needs more versatility as a musical intrument on its own right with midi/expression pedal options..then it would be really great...you're right though, at this stage they are still just toys.
The next pedal I get, I will need an actual board for because one or two is fine without a board but for 2 pedals plus my ME-25 (with a headphone adapter in the headphone spot to make it sound better with an amp or plugged into a computer with monitors) I would need a good board at that point if I wanted to connect multiple pedals hold them in place. I usually have just use 1 pedal at a time, but recently wanted try more at a time with my bose Katana mini. I might record stuff from my Katana Mini sometime because it sounds so good.
Could you connect an external synth to this so it affects the sound coming out of the line out? I don't play guitar but I think this could make some really awesome sounds with a synth?
I usually put it at the end of the chain, although I don't have many pedals. the fuzz really likes being hit be something harsh, smoothens it out into doomy sweetness really well. the reverb and delay also take anything you give them really well, so unless you have some kind of modulation device or other delay you want to put after it, I think it's best at the end
i find that the input and output jacks are very tight and i have to push the jacks real hard in, but it sounds fine. Do you have this same experience with your pedal?
haha!! I thought the note from the makers (@6:50) said we think the Black Hole Symmetry) will help you fight the dangerous boards of canada!! ...I guess the dangerous bears of canada makes more sense :)
Effects like this can be great creative tools, although unfortunately flexibility with other pedals is limited if you'd like to use something else in the middle of its internal chain. That's a big limiting factor and I'm not hearing anything drastically unique here in terms of its sound or character. If it did something exceptional with all these elements combined, then it would become a creative instrument of its own, but I'm not getting that here unfortunately. Sounds good overall though otherwise.
It's wild how much I get this rush of just pure excitement just seeing that knobs released a video 8 minutes ago, wakes you up yo
lol, that Is a sure sign of addiction haha
Pitch shifted reverb, just what the doctor ordered
I only recently found this channel looking for demos of the Meris Enzo.

Does Knobs have a record out? As good as these pedals are, I’m more interested in buying Knobs’ music.
They have cool patron channel where they release their music
Your pedal demos are pure art.
these videos are always very dangerous, for my wallet.
$250 on Reverb right now. Really not that bad at all considering!

when 1:36 riff kicked in, I immediately told myself I’ll buy this thing. on my bday. in six months.
Kay - Munnay 2 months to go friend!
Simon Courjault okay starting to get nervous now...
Nearly time? Or is it ordered now?
Oscillator Sink Christmas is now my new birthday, thanks Knobs
Whatever was just played from 6:35 - 7:00 just made me cry from how beautiful it sounded... I have to buy this pedal, thanks.
I think you might like Duster :)
this has space nerdiness all over it and I WANT IT. Damn you, Knobs...
Wow, I had same nice gigling when I first saw Hologram Infinity Jets...but here is more blackness, and love it. Great video! As always, thx Knobs!
This is the best structured pedal review ever
That is tasty! Love the way it's laid out. I'd like to hear more of the fuzz on it's own! It seems lovely.
This pedal is a shoegazer's dream! *sigh* RIP bank account
Stop looking at your shoes, numbskull!
More like “finger gazer”. Does not appear to be designed for shoes.
And a post rocker’s dream too

Such an awesome video, thank you... oh yeah and the pedal is pretty beautiful too :)
30 seconds in and I'm subscribed. Excellent presentation
Blew my mind from the start

The ultimate Shoegaze pedal.
This is actually pretty cool though.
As if your music isn't beautiful enough, I just about wept when I saw carefree go-kart Bill from Freaks and Geeks. Thanks Knobs.

If the smashing pumpkins decided to do ambient album this would be the perfect pedal.
Sounds cool. I gotta get a bigger board...

Your video production standard is on point ... I can't see why any pedal creator *wouldn't* sponsor you!
You deserve far more subscribers.
Such a wonderful looking and sounding pedal.
Wonder how it would sound through a synth...
As soon as I posted that there was a synth section...HA
Damn, there's already a black hole in my wallet, I can't buy that one ...
I don't get why there is no expression pedal and ability to assign knobs to it?
Don't worry, there's nothing at 2:25.
So where would you put this in your pedalboard? With reverb and delay or right after your overdrives? Just curious! Looks and sounds incredible!

it would be AWESOME if you could vary the amount of "echo" with a volume-type pedal...that would be very versatile, and have much application.
Might we get a review of the Old Blood Noise Rever soon??
Just saying, a black hole is the exact opposite of void, it's very highly condensed matter.
That being said, I love your videos

what is this black magic?
Awesome

Does each pedal come with pieces of Keiji Haino's soul?
is this effect buffer sensitive, I notice in mine when activating the effects reverb or delay it lowers the overall gain of the signal a little
D the setting and audio being heard correspond? I'd like to buy this and match some of the tones you're achieving in this video
the beginning reminded me of farewell by boris.
one day i started looking for some reverbs for my pedal board... now i must stop watching this! i dont know what to buy... hahahahh
