This recipe looks amazing! Great to see marinara sauce without using sun dried tomato which is difficult to find here in Japan. Would love to try this recipe!

I can't believe it has taken me so long to try this recipe! Well, I guess I can since I'm not a big raw tomato fan, but I LOVE this! At first I made it to be a dressing, but then I just ate the whole thing with a spoon. Satisfies my salty craving perfectly. Thanks!

I really admire the convictions and discipline you have built over the year to be on 'fully raw'. Would like to hear your advice on what happened if friends or family who eat cooked food invite you for a meal? Or during special seasons whereby you are inviting friends & families (with elderly) to your place for 'party/ gathering'. Socially how do you relate and stay 'connected' with them coz they might not 'share' the same eating habit like yours ;-)

Yummm! We just had this marinara for dinner .... first on zucchini noodles. Then on butter and romaine lettuce plus some kelp noodles. Epic, for sure! Thanks, sis-tah! Love you!! (By the way, marinara is spelled without the "e.")

A lot of raw vegan foods that are blended usually use a lot of different colored vegetables or fruit, and I know the colors red, blue, and yellow usually result in brown...so, even if she isn't using blue food, green is a mix of yellow and blue, and then she had red tomatoes, so that is probably why for this recipe. Other recipes probably have about the same reasoning.

I use my dehydator to warm up my food. You have to plan in advance to do it though. Also, some people use their oven on the lowest setting, but I really don't think that using a microwave is good or will keep it raw.

Do you typically eat the whole vita mix worth of sauce or save it to be used the next day? does storing in a mason jar make a difference in how the sauce will taste the next day?? i find that if i make a sauce and don't finish it, after being in the fridge it tastes funky. love the food vids. you always find a way to include the greens which is awesome because i think a lot of people esp. on 811 struggle with getting the greens in!

well as promised I actually DID make the Deep dish Lasagna (of yours) with the delicious pinenut cream and the Epic Raw Marinara I started running our ot Zucchini's because they only had small ones at the shop so next time I'll have to get more and a few other things it cost me like $60 to make this dish but that's prob because I don't have most produce already at home (and Aus is expensive) my Dad loved it (for his Diabetes too) 1 of my sons had several helpings and me too. it was quite Yum

Do you ever use paste tomatoes like Roma for the sauce? In the past, when I made my home cooked marinara for canning, I always used Roma. I read that paste tomatoes are better for sauce because they are not as watery.

Thanks Kristina. I think I am just a lost cause in this area. I know you probably will help many many people with this recipe, but I have done stuff like this before and found it more than distasteful. I think for people like myself I will stick to green smoothies in order to get my greens in and steamed greens otherwise. Other than that I am loving 80-10-10! The fruit consumption is awesome, just cannot stand raw greens with no salt...yuck. Yet I know I need them. We move forward, carry on.

notice Kristina leaves out garlic (or only uses one clove?, limes, any form of salt, pepper and limes- shallots-green peppers, Serranos or jalapenos and have never seen her use endive or seaweed of any form and wondering if any of these are not considered true raw food or it's just personal choice? Also sweet potatoes? not raw or not veggie? lol

no, but i do have a degree in psychology specializing in mood and behavior disorders. this diet allows this woman to indulge all aspects of anorexia nervosa over exaggerated need for control over food, this diet requires that. in addition the 801010 diet is so restrictive that she has a perfect excuse as to why shes not eating at any given time. the recipies look beautiful but it is obvious she has never tasted them fetechini made out of shredded zucini and pureed beets is a good example.
