I can't remember if I've commented about this before, but I really appreciate how respectful you are about the "before" version of whatever you're about to renovate. I cringe when some YTer moves into a new house and spends ages talking about how terrible some room is, making a choice to trash talk rather than kindly acknowledge that it's time for a fresh start to the cycle of new-to-old. You've always been honest about the flaws that are now present, without being mean about what was once someone's dream powder room/kitchen/etc. Pairing this with your obvious skill at doing the work, and your sense of humor -- I really enjoy watching your videos. Thank you.
I've been a fan of your videos for ages. Really loved this one because I'm working on some remodeling, myself, and your methods help ease some of the intimidation. Thank you!
@MidwestMagicCleaning You said once that most of the people that are subscribed to your channel are subscribed to a lot of the channels that you're subscribed to. I just now witnessed that that is absolutely true. Great to see you in the comments here! 😁 You have great taste! Maybe Matt will need a moose removal at some point, and you can come up and spin kick those for him! 🤪
That is a beautiful glam-up for your in-laws half bathroom. Your in-laws got to spoil the babies and you have done such a fantastic thing for your in-laws. As a senior citizen and a grandmother, you are the best son in-law ever.
I always like watching your videos. The music was not overwhelming, but I missed all your words of wisdom and tips. I saw you do several things and wished there was narration so I knew what to look out for or anything special that needed to be done. Don't underestimate passing on of experience, and helping Folks learn, you are very good at it😊
I appreciate the fact you were brave enough to show the bathroom as most folks use so we can see what you really have to deal with. You ain’t hiding nothing. I’ll be redoing my 2nd bathroom so this is encouraging to me to move forward. Thanks for the video. ❤
Very satisfying video to watch, although I did miss you're talking. Nice upgrades, it looks clean and refreshed. Most wouldn't think about changing out the hinges and door handle but it made a difference and matched the other fixtures perfectly.
You never cease to amaze me with your knowledge, skill, talent, and attention to detail. Not to mention the final result of whatever project you're working on!! 🏆👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Very nice! I really like the new lights and updated vanity countertop. I considered bead board, but I'm going with wainscoting in my half bath remodel.
What a beautiful refresh of your in-laws powder room. You took care of every detail, including washing and spraying the ceiling fanlight. They must have been beyond thrilled with your workmanship and care. Thank you for sharing.
Love the Score! when finding some loose change. Projects like this tend to have a cascading effect. Now that we've updated that room we need to update the "rest of the house" to match! I love the attention to detail. I thought you were in trouble when sink counter didn't fit flush and you started carving into the wall. Ended up looking amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I can whatch over and over and over again every single of your videos!! Your effort and dedication in everything you do is so satisfying and relaxing ☺️👏🏻
funny to see this right as my parents hired someone to do our downstairs garage-adjacent bathroom, ours actually had old linoleum under the tile, left that mess alone lol. it really is amazing how you're capable of so many things
LOL, that's our sink, faucet, and light fixture in our small main bathroom! They are in much better condition than what you dealt with so we're living with them for now. Our house is from 1978, we did quite a bit of updating and repairing over the years, but it's never really done is it?
Would have been nice if someone came in after demo & cleaned it fresh for the glow up. That floor needed the mildew removed & a good mop. End result is great, I really appreciate, how much of the processes you showed , very informative & educational. Fantastic work thanks 👌🏻
I just finished remodeling my full bath and working in that small space was a nightmare but I'm 63 but the worst part was the laminate flooring. It moved around as I was installing it and it unsnapped and I tried to shoot some brads in hidden places but they wouldn't penetrate. My transition strip had a metal channel to screw down but the trim wouldn't snap into place so I used double sided tape. The little woman worked hard resurfacing the tub and tiles and it looks nice and new. All new hardware and brass for the tub faucets...did I mention the flooring sucks? Nice job..
Yep, love it! For a minute there, I thought you were going to replace the light fixture, when you removed it after installing it. Was about to ask what was wrong with it 😂
Haha yeah I was racking my brain about what I was gonna do there. Really wanted to get some kind of electrical box in there. No round box would work but I found that shallow one for a normal outlet which worked out perfect since the mount to the wall was bigger. I feel a lot better having it in there now! Thanks for checking out the video!
Beautiful! I love it. Did you hang on to the previous hardware? That's always reusable. And the handles on the sink cabinet were nice. I love your peaceable spirit!
Looks great!! Definitely a well-deserved update. It's clean and crisp. After seeing the buckled original laminate flooring by the toilet I understand why I was told I should avoid using it anywhere there's a water source. I noticed you didn't utilize underlayment. I hear so many mixed stories. Can you explain your thoughts? I want to eliminate carpet in the house I purchase and red oak floors are w-a-y out of my budget. (I hope to do the floors prior to moving any furniture. So much easier for everyone. ) Laminate makes sense but I do not like the hollow sound when walking on it wearing hard soled shoes. It can be very confusing. I would happily watch your children while you worked on my home - although there's quite a distance issue.
Hey!! So the floor i installed was a 100% waterproof LVP. It is different than laminate. It does not require an underlayment as one is already built in to each plank. I could see mixed thoughts on underlayment but with a product like this they tell you not to use it, in fact, if you do use it with this product it voids the warranty. The flooring BTW is called "Lifeproof" and home depot sells it but there are so many other brands out there. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
I'm watching this like I could do this even a 10th as good as you just did and then when you put the plates on I'm going, "DUDE! NO GCFI?!" like I know what the hell I'm talking about. Beautiful job, sir.
Wonderful job, as usual. Your attention to detail is always amazing. I am curious about the flooring tho, the color variations from one "plank" to another come across as shockingly different.
Hey! Yeah it is not uncommon. I think they do that to make it look more natural, like the variations of a real hardwood floor. I like it but I could see how it would throw someone off. Thanks for the comment and for checking out the video!

Hey! Thanks so much for the comment, I appreciate it! 😃
Wow, it looks great; good job! I’m sure your in-laws appreciate your efforts on their behalf.
The in-laws will trash the new bathroom just like they did the 'before' version.
I've been a fan of your videos for ages. Really loved this one because I'm working on some remodeling, myself, and your methods help ease some of the intimidation. Thank you!
Happy to hear that! Thanks for watching!

@@DiamondDustAndVerdigris A collab would be awesome! Two of my fave YT guys!
there’s more satisfaction in doing work for loved ones who care about you than for yourself.
Your in laws won the lottery with you!! This is beautiful. I’ll be watching more of your DIYs!
The effort is almost as outstanding as the filmography. You are appreciated. Well done.
Thanks so much!

Loved how the 2 small pictures never left the wall.😂😂
Haha if it ain't broke don't fix it right?

A master of something is when they make it look easy and effortless. You, sir, are a master!!!
Looks so nice & fresh now. I hope they appreciate how lucky they are to have you as a son in law. I’m sure they do. 👏👏❤

Fresh and Clean! Great job.
Thank you! 😁
Damn smart making the box fit between the pipe and the oversink lighting! Much safer and I see the original builders neglected to do that.
Lovely upgrade. You're a good SIL
😁👍 thanks for checking out the video!

Love your work man. Great job.

So amazing work, very clean. Love to watch ur videos
Nice work! It's tempting to not call the plumber but I don't trust myself. Rough it in and let the pros worry about making it leak free.
I was needing one of this videos!! Tkvm matt!!
Hope you enjoyed! Thank you for all of your support!
Great job, very inspirational!
Midwest Magic Cleaning sent me your way and I'm happy he did! Super impressive stuff.
