Kudos to you both for showing it like it is without the bull. I'm 30 years as a trainer (mostly cab over - oh boy) at JB, Schneider, and now VERY part-time day cab at SWIFT due to taking early Social Security. If you haven't been to NYC, I recommend taking anything heavy from above head level and place it to the back of the lower bunk or you'll be sorry. I've been sorry. Happy-Happy!!!
Ohhh. For some reason this landed in the ‘held for review’ and I just saw it now. So my apologies for the tardy response. ;-)) 30 years training!?! WOW!!! That’s amazing!!! Thanks for the advice about NYC. We did go once…made a whole weekend video marathon about it. Luckily nothing fell on our heads. :-))) We appreciate your other advice you gave us in other comments even more, knowing the kind of experience you have!!! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!!! We really appreciate it!!! Have a great weekend!!!
Sorry to hear that! Please take good care of yourself! We hope you get it down and can get back out here. In the meantime we are happy and honored to have you ride with us!! 💕
Hey there!! That’s what we’d heard. Sorry you just missed out on this one. There were lots of people there which we think must have been new drivers. Nice store too!
I guessed correctly. That would make me nervous. Heading to NYC areas. And I'm from the north east., N Y / NJ areas. Look forward to seeing what to expect in a city scenario. Be careful. Keep on Trucking!
Hey there!!! The Long Weekend Video Marathon will have several videos covering this exciting experience!! 10am and 3pm EST Saturday through Monday. Enjoy!!!
Sweet terminal! Better than Fontana to be sure! Also, I'm really looking forward to seeing Brooklyn, NY from the driver's perspective. THAT should be interesting! I'm envisioning narrow streets and low bridges. I can't wait to do it myself!! As always, travel safely...
Yes. It’s much roomier. Pretty much the same as Joliet, IL. So I guess they’ve decided that they like that layout. And again, YES, the Brooklyn trip was something new, challenging, exciting, stressful, and full of interesting tidbits…so we’ve got several videos. Thought it would be fun to show them as a Weekend Marathon. :-)))
When you are driving and using the devices for direction , which devices/maps are you using ? I know one is Kevin’s phone ( what app ?) , and another is provided by Werner? I’m confused lol . Thanks for sharing 🙏🏻
Thanks for watching! Kevin uses the Garmin and the Co-Pilot on the Werner ELD for directions. On his phone, he uses the Trucker Path App. You can see upcoming truck stops, rest areas, weigh stations, etc and it shows traffic slowdowns. Between the three of them he usually gets there! ;-))
From the area in the video, I got a real good kick out of her pointing out the “no trucks” signage. I yell about them every time I see them knowing a terminal is on the same road.
Those new peterbilts closely resemble the new t680 generation truck. I've never driven any of these large trucks, but having watched your videos and compared them with other point of view videos from other drivers in different trucks, the Kenworth seems to make a lot of engine noise. Have you noticed this?
Wow…you are paying close attention :-)) As for your question, we haven’t driven in a Peterbilt, so we can’t compare. Certainly the KW is loud, but we think it’s because it’s a powerful hard working truck. ;-))) Any other viewers have some input on this?
Thanks for watching! And congratulations on getting your CDL! That’s a nice terminal!!! Good for you! Did you like the fancy coffee machine? Are you out with your trainer now or did you already get your own truck?
@@TheJoyofTrucking that coffee machine is a blessing early mornings 😂 lol, Im OTR SOLO right now aswell, i went there for orientation September 13,2021
Hi there! Thanks for watching! Recruiters had told Kevin he could pick his truck. When it came time for truck assignment they tried to give him an International. Kevin said ‘No, I thought I could pick my truck.’ They said that’s all they had. He said he’d wait. And he did. Later that day they had a Kenworth for him. :-)))
I was wondering, I got my cdl last Friday from roadmadters orlando,FL. I'll be going to Lake city,FL either Thursday, Sunday for orientation. Have appointment at dmv tommorrow to change over licenses, hoping they will let me take hazmat/tanker while I'm there. I'll meet you two some day on the road..keep vids rolling.
@@charlescanham8453 Congratulations!!! That’s great!!! We wish you all the best for adding your endorsements and for your orientation!!! Let us know how it all goes!! Hope to meet you out there!
That is a good question. We’d heard from a number of drivers that it was complicated to get there. And they were right. Now that we’ve done it we should be good. But first time…be very careful!
Kevin and Tanya I'm in your videos and I keep on giving you the thumbs up and I will be subscribing thank you
Awesome! Thank you! Glad you enjoy our videos!!

I want to get back into driving. A1c was to high to get my DOT physical, so they pulled my endorsements. Really been enjoying your videos.

Calvin and Tanya I love your Creed videos please mix more Creed videos thank you
Hey there! Yes...there will definitely be a lot of Crete videos coming up!! Thanks for your enthusiasm!
The old terminal in Allentown was very small and in disrepair. This new terminal looks amazing, it opened about a week after my orientation.

Yes…it was a BIG DAY for Kevin!!! Enjoy the videos this weekend!
Tanja please upload the video of driving thru NY. Very curious to see how Kevin handles the roads in a big city in a big truck!!

Extra pay for NYC? I drove through NYC many times back in the day. Not fun for a 4 wheeler. Good luck .
Yup…pretty stressful!! Many companies pay extra.

Shouldn't Garmin flag for no trucks?
Yes. Luckily there were signs. And they always trump any electronic directions.
Is the laundry free?
No. Usually about $1-$1.50 per machine.
Make sure you dont go thru the wash bay 🤣wouldn't wanna break your streak of dirty driving videos 😆🧼🧼🧼🧼
No worries. It’s not working.
@@TheJoyofTrucking i figured that 😆
Sounds like a pain in the butt. Why would they put a terminal in that location.
