Still no where close to the price of cable. Standalone cable TV with the same channels in my area was $135/mo for 2 TVs with basic DVR. This was back in 2022
That would be logical, I have a feeling it's the same thing as old school cable, where the content producers say if you want the channels people watch, then you gotta take the crap channels in a bundle, or get nothing, and if they don't take the packge, then the customers complain why don't you have such, and such channel?
Here’s the thing, they can’t dump those channels which is why the Fubo lawsuit is so important for consumers. Fubo is suing so that TV providers can not be forced into carrying channels people don’t want.

I think I was paying $30 bucks to start. Then I cancelled at about $70. I went with Hulu with live TV because they bundled Disney plus and ESPN plus for around the same price as UA-cam TV. But Hulu with live TV has raised the price so high that I cancelled it too. I just have a few of the "with commercials "pay streaming services with no live TV.

Finding out at least on my end the picture quality is much clearer on Sling. After all said and done I will pay about half of what UA-cam TV would have been with their price increase with Sling. UA-cam TV going to see the first time losing many subscribers. A $10/month hike is ridiculous. Those fees from Cable companies, is it not the same for UA-cam TV and other Streaming Live services as well (such as: Local TV, Sports fee, HD fees)?
At this time, UA-cam TV and Hulu don't charge a local broadcast fee or an RSN sports fee). The price that they advertise is the price you pay (+ tax and any add-ons that you choose). Spectrum will advertise say, $115 for Signature, but then you get nailed with a local retransmission fee, an RSN fee and equipment fees that aren't disclosed until you get deeper into the process. Not sure, but I think Fubo hits you with the RSN fee.
My husband has had UA-cam TV for months now. Now he got an email saying that is subscription will go up in January. So he is looking elsewhere for another service.
YTTV is trying to make its subscribers pay for sports rights that many of us couldn’t care less about. So we canceled (actually, we canceled just before the price hike was announced). $73/mo was already too much; $83/mo is outrageous.
I will never pay for TV streaming services . The only one I have is Prime Video because we have been Amazon Prime members for years and it comes with it for $15.98/month. I get all the New York City broadcast channels with an antenna here in north NJ and only pay $30/month for Comcast internet. We also watch a lot of the FAST channels. There is enough free content out there without having to pay exorbitant prices. As long as you people continue to pay, these companies will keep raising the prices.
We've all known that 98% of us only watch 10 to 15 channels.... Maximum! All the rest of it is ... pure garbage!! There's not 1 live tv package that I would ever pay for! Good luck you tube!!

I was paying over $300 for my Cable TV and Internet with Astound. Just recently dropped my Cable TV for UA-cam TV. My Astound bill went down to around $100. With UA-cam TV price hike... still paying a lot less than Cable TV.
I don't have UA-cam TV, but I do have Sling Orange and when they announced their upcoming price hike I immediately canceled my subscription. I 've had enough of these price hikes when these companies and their CEOs are reporting record profits!
These companies produce zero content of their own. They're simply "bundling" companies, grabbing deals from other company's creation. Their profit is amazing. But on a fixed income, it will cost me around $95 per month. Can't do that.

What amazes me is that they know the majority of their customers will just take it and pay the increase. Even if a small percentage cancel they will still be making money on the increase in fees.

Streaming companies are doing the same thing satellite companies did to their existing customers. I got into satellite for $19 a month. I got out of satellite when it got to $127 a month for the same package I had at $19 a month. Satellite TV became terminal. All technologies eventually become obsolete. At some price point, customers leave what they have been using and try something different.
They’ve become a cable tv provider essentially, bundling too much. It is too expensive for what I actually watch. It was too already too much before this price increase.

Your organization is dependent on what other companies tell you and if they deny something that is nothing you don't have any control over. Our family is sick and tired of the networks (content owners) keep paying outrageous salaries to the A-listed actors, no one is worth what they make. Sure, their name brings in the viewers. If they didn't get paid millions then the savings would be felt downstream. We have changed our viewing to an HD Homerun on the Plex platform. We save around $1,500/year and still have most of the shows we want to watch. Keep up the good work!!
Buy an antenna if you live in an area close to towers. Tried all the different services and noticed that I honestly only need live news and sports broadcasts. Mostly football and local news.
And still has the nerve to offer 4K quality for an additional charge. This is why I don't have a problem with the FTC going after/breaking up these companies. They are acquiring so much wealth and power usually making them the only dominant player in the space, which stifles competition and leads to these constant price hikes. It needs to stop.

If a cable service ever comes where you can pick your channels and they will charge you a reasonable rate, and keep that rate then all these other cable services will be in trouble.
I got Tablo for local channels for free then Philo for $28. Football, basketball & hockey have transitioned to local channels here in Texas and I think Baseball is going to do the same as they will no longer be featured in Ballys.
