    I really enjoy your channel. As someone from the U.S. I had looked into electric bikes a bit, but after all the hassles and what I've seen yourself and others go through with zero and the way zero treats it's customers. Not to mention their more recent pay to unlock featuring upgrades that are already on the bike. I had written off any interest in electric motorcycles until I found your channel. I had never heard of energica before. But I'm glad I did. I love the energica content, and if I ever go electric for a motorcycle, I'll definitely be choosing energica. Thank you for what you do, and can't wait to see more content.

    Thanks for the sneak peek at energica. Beginning stories are always fun to watch, especially an up and coming like energica. I think there’s a huge difference between customer courtesy and customer care. All companies are usually courteous to their customers, but most honestly suck at customer service. @@NewZeroland I’m the same with Harley at the moment. It’s hard to not become a die hard loyalist when you feel that you’re being treated fairly. I think if either company treated you or I differently, that perception would change accordingly. I’ve yet to go to a harley -dealer where I was mistreated or not had any issues addressed. Not to say there aren’t bad dealers out there, just that I’ve had good experiences so far. I’ve never heard of anyone having a bad experience with energica so far. I’m sure there’s the exception, but seems it’s quite rare. The US lead of Energica USA sales reached out to me a few months - with a phone call after I submitted an inquiry about the Experia. I think when the top of a company treats employees right, that extends to the customer interaction as well. Great people

Honestly if Zero handled things better, I may have thought about buying another in the future. I was so deep into promoting them for free for years just because I loved the bikes. What a great report, great company and great bikes. I've seen an interview with the female company director, she knows her stuff and is quite a character. Hope one day the motor moves into the rear wheel which makes all that gear and chain stuff obsolete and gives so much more design space for the battery. • @DerKrawallkeks
      @DerKrawallkeks Рік тому +1

      Hey:)
      I disagree that the motor should be in the rear wheel. You can see hub motors on any scooters, because of the upsides you mentioned: simple and no chain.
      But it has a reason you shouldn't put a more powerful motor in the wheel: it weights a lot and it's unsprung mass. That's really harsh on the motor, gives bad suspension feel and most importantly make you'll have really bad gyroscopic effect.
      Let's keep chains and belts!:)

    • @moestrei
      @moestrei Рік тому

      @@DerKrawallkeks I actually converted a 250 Ninja to 8kW hub. Top speed 120km/h and done 20000km by now. Yes, I was worried about unsprung mass (+11Kg in my case) but there is zero difference in comfort.....and we have bad roads out here. Nix gyo effect, garnix. Alles nur dumme Theorie. Only issue is heat....it needs liquid cooling if you go fast for extended periods. The only moving parts are the wheel bearings....nothing to service nothing wears out. I ordered an Aptera with 3 50kW hub motors, liquid cooled. Hub is the future. Kette macht Krawall und geht mir auf den Keks😃👍

      @@moestrei Ja schon:D Hub ist ne schöne Lösung und für einige Anwendungen ja auch top, dein Moped zB geht ja dann noch. Aber wenn man 80kW statt 8kW haben will, oder auch nur 40, dann wird's doch sehr schwer. Ich glaub dir dass man bei dir vllt Gyro mäßig noch nichts merkt, aber das ist schon n realer Effekt, der bei höherer Geschwindigkeit und Masse dann relevant wird.

In each of those segments (also known as the fun bits!) the riding days would be 200 to 300 km. I thought that with the slow speeds and regen that the Experia could do the whole day on a single charge. I wasn’t looking for hotels with charging but about a quarter of the ones I stayed at had Level 2 charging stations. The remainder had a wall plug so that you could slow charge overnight. On the transit stages on the autobahn I thought that most rest areas had Level 3 charging so you could easily charge up while you had a cappuccino and a croissant. A quick look at PlugShare showed that there were lots of opportunities to charge everywhere I went. I was familiar with some of the history and the fact they were a branch of a racing parts parent company. Here's the big question. I remember an interview with Livia where she talked about building an electric car, but that it was too early so they didn't pursue that. Then the electric motorcycles raced at Isle of Man and they went that route instead. Things could have been way different! The Ideanomics deal sounds like it'll get Energica components in the hands of lots of other companies, so we'll see lots more EV conversions, electric boats, etc!

      I ride my Suzuki Katana on average between 110-190 km/h. At these speeds, it jugs 6l/100km. At 90km/h its around 4-5 liter/100km
      As in video v=Vd8AmSchhXI they say that energica at "car speeds" (around 70-90km/h as seen in video) it consumes 8kWh/100km
      So cost for 100km is 0.5*8= 4 €/100km in electricity
      or 1.5*6=9€/100km in gas for my Katana
      Usually bikes are sold at 60 000km distance ridden, so over that time I will spend 5400€ in fuel or 2400€ in electricity.
      BUT: Suzuki Katana costs 11 000€ while Energica Ribelle cost 22 100€.

      If I have to chose extra, if I want to be stranded for 40+minutes at charger or 2 minutes at gas station, its ICE motorcycle all the way...
