- CHAPTER TIMESTAMPS AND LINKS BELOW
With her unique style and soulfully expressive playing, guitarist Melanie Faye demonstrates the Lollar's DC-90 pickups.
The DC-90s are a hum-canceling replacement for traditional soapbar P-90s, as well as other compatible pickups. They offer the bite and body of a P-90 without the hum usually associated with the large, singlecoill P-90 design.
The versatile DC-90 has a sound very close to Lollar's popular '50s Wind P-90 and can be used for just about any playing style from jazz to blues, country to rock, and everything in between.
Melanie's signal chain consisted of a Collings 290 equipped with a pair of Lollar DC-90 pickups to a Lollar Overdrive pedal, then into a mid-'60s (Black Panel) Fender Vibroluxe Reverb amp.

The bridge in particular sounds fantastic.
The guitar playing is fantastic!
I think the tones displayed in this video do a much better job of showcasing the sound of these pickups vs the other vid where the player was running through a Helix, which sounded thin. These sound great to my ear, which is no surprise because I've loved every pickup I've gotten from you guys. Very cool idea on these, love the staggered poles. It would be cool to see a video with the same guitar before and after, starting with your p-90s, and then what that guitar sounds like with the p-90s removed and the DC-90s installed.
I’ve been scrolling through pickup demos for hours and this one has me losing my mind
Thank you. So glad you like it!
Pls !! I'm curious for the 70's Jazz Bass pickups !! Thx i love lollar ❤
These pickups sound great, is a humbucker-sized version in the projects for the near future?
There are no plans for that at this time.
Nice, I’d like to hear it in the neck of a tele.
Haha, I'm interested in that too! I'm currently planning a Warmoth Telecaster body with a P90 in the neck.
