    Dr Robin! (…may I call you that? ☺️). You are just terrific! I’m 71 years young (😆), 11 months into remission from stage 2B HER2+ breast cancer and am doing actually, pretty great! I’m physically very active: gardening, kayaking, hiking, e-biking, weight training…more so after my 17+ month battle with cancer… I’ve got an excellent naturopathic NP monitoring and advising me how to stay cancer-free. I’ve found a treasure trove of nutritional/herbal information (geared specifically for my cancer subtype) on the internet and I’ve been learning loads about supplements, specifically ones that block any number of metabolic pathways that cancer can use.. Your presentations are so clear, concise and informative…you’re a doll! I look forward to learning more from you.

    Watched again and took notes. I have been taking the oxide form and have been getting lose stool and did not know about the difference. THANK YOU. In addition, since absorption was part of the discussion, and since you requested we suggest topics for learning, I am suggesting that bioavailability of natural or supplemental nutrition as a function of age and gender also be taught in a separate video. Everyone thinks that a tomato eaten by an 18 year old, for example has the same effects as when a 60 year old may have the same tomato, and it is not the same. Same is true for all vitamins and minerals as well as fats, probably. So, please consider an enlightening video on the topic of age and gender dependent bioavailability of nutrition. Thanks.😊

      @@dr.robinlewis I look forward to the episode. It might also be beneficial to address importance of activity levels in the absorption success. I came up with this thought one day sitting in a plane watching all the metabolically ill people boarding the plane: "if we drove as mindfully as we eat we would have to drive without car insurance because we could not be insured" :) We tend to know a lot more about our cars than about our own physiology and how it interacts with the world.

    Great video. I learned some things even having researched Mg pretty well last year. Don’t think I knew being very active burns through a lot of Mg, along with stress using more your Mg. I started supplementing last year in April to combat leg cramps during sleep after starting Keto.
    I was using Mg Glycinate up until about a month ago. I switched to Bisglycinate tabs and powder so glad you confirmed my switch was wise.
    I also added Potassium to my protocol after looking at my micronutrients more closely and realizing I was 1k-2k mgs short of the 4,500 mgs I want to get daily. Even though I eat about 1.5 lbs of beef daily w lots of broccoli, Brussel sprouts, and avocados a weekly..I’m still falling short. So supplementing to help close that gap. Maybe you can do a video on Potassium in the future? I have a ton of recommendations if you’re interested. :)
    Anyway, great video. I’ll be checking out some more. ✌️

    Great video, magnesium is so important to good health! I bought some magnesium L-threonate and it suggests taking it an hour before bedtime. Does that sound reasonable?

      I find I sleep better but find it harder to wake up in the AM. Maybe I need to take it 1-2 hours before bedtime. Or only take a half dose before bed

    Enjoyed listening to this weeks video. For the future should the public buy Trulicity 1.5mg/0.5ml solution for injection or similar to loose weight for the summer?
    Hope you recover from the sore throat/ cold

    What if you are interested in taking multiple forms of magnesium? Are their supplements that include multiple forms in 1 supplement? What supplement brands would you recommend?

    • @dr.robinlewis
      @dr.robinlewis  5 місяців тому +1

      I actually don’t use combination products so I don’t have a brand to recommend there but I general I get my magnesium products from companies like Designs for health, Thorne, cytomatrix, canprev, NHF, and some of the other professional brands. Each of these companies will usually have multiple forms of magnesium depending on what you want it for.

    What vitamins and minerals need to be chelated for absorption?

    • @dr.robinlewis
      @dr.robinlewis  11 місяців тому

      It’s not necessary for any of them but usually helps absorption of many types of minerals such as magnesium and zinc.

    How do you feel about Magnesium Taurate for cardio and cognitive health?

    • @dr.robinlewis
      @dr.robinlewis  9 місяців тому +1

      Absolutely, they essentially have added the amino acid taurine to the magnesium and taurine is very important for the health of both of those systems!
