I am a big fan. Last October I was able to get a front row seat at his talk at the New Yorker festival.....It was the day Kavanaugh was sworn in and he came out large as life and spun a bit of humor about it....and definitely spoke about his life being his own invention and a matrix of sorts (I hope I got that right). What I found in what he spoke about was the ability to create distance from the happenings of life and I think it serves him well to not feel so close to the events of the day. He made a few jokes about not having a gf and that being one of his central quests. He showed a good bit of his art. I don’t think he saw what I saw (no doubt) in that he feels that he has created his world and so he is closer to it than anyone. He seems happy and curious and gentle spirited and a seeker of the truth...he is just so Lovely....with an emphasis on love..... I so appreciate this video you have made. The first clip of him talking reminds me of one of my biggest realizations: What’s the problem? Is it a matter of circumstances? Or is it a matter of mind? Actually I didn’t really start to see myself from another perspective Truly until March of this year. I’ve been on this path for a little more than a decade. It’s an amazing liberating feeling...to see you. In this different perspective, you can easily spot your faults, and without guilt, you can just work on getting better! Although it took me a while to see ME from a new perspective, all my life I’ve been able to see a place (room, a street, a building, etc,) from another perspective. Idk how to explain. It’s quite mysterious. But one way to do it is this: let’s say you’re facing north on a street. If you can convince yourself you’re in a new city and you’re actually facing west, it’s CRAZY how instantly new it looks. If I imagine that I’m actually at a different spot in a familiar place relative to the main entrance, it’s a completely different and NEW space. A few years ago I developed the ability to see THINGS from a new perspective. If I’m ever annoyed by my messy house, I change my perspective to make it look like someone else’s, and suddenly I’m like okay it’s not that bad lol. If I’m struggling with self criticism about my art, music, etc... if I see it as if I just came across it and it’s some stranger’s work, I can instantly SEE that it is not horrible in the slightest like I was telling myself. It’s really easy. Just took a while to realize that was a thing We could do. It’s very helpful...to step out of your expectations and definitions and opinions. To just be present.

Nisargadatta said the same thing in many different ways, one of the ways is in quote is: “There is only life, there is nobody who lives a life.” Mooji says: "Liberation is FROM the person, NOT for the person." There is no "me", it is an illusion or thought. Liberation is realizing this. I'm positive many here realize this and I'm betting my bottom dollar Jim Carrey knows as well. As long as there is identification with name and form there will be suffering and duality. For instance if you change your name or roles and find out that even with these changes the one thing in common is that you didn't go anywhere, that these concepts and labels are covering up the Life that you literally are. I had a similar experience, a minute or so of feeling my true nature, best feeling ever, even better than any drug. I long for that feeling again.

I feel like Jim is one of the very few celebrities that instead of realizing that he has everything and finding that he doesnt feel complete or happy and therefore turning to drugs or falling into a depression, he overcame it and found his purpose, completion, and happiness in his spirituality. I am a big fan. Last October I was able to get a front row seat at his talk at the New Yorker festival.....It was the day Kavanaugh was sworn in and he came out large as life and spun a bit of humor about it....and definitely spoke about his life being his own invention and a matrix of sorts (I hope I got that right). What I found in what he spoke about was the ability to create distance from the happenings of life and I think it serves him well to not feel so close to the events of the day. He made a few jokes about not having a gf and that being one of his central quests. He showed a good bit of his art. I don’t think he saw what I saw (no doubt) in that he feels that he has created his world and so he is closer to it than anyone. He seems happy and curious and gentle spirited and a seeker of the truth...he is just so Lovely....with an emphasis on love..... I so appreciate this video you have made. It is full of love and life and Light. Thank you.

Actually I didn’t really start to see myself from another perspective Truly until March of this year. I’ve been on this path for a little more than a decade. It’s an amazing liberating feeling...to see you. In this different perspective, you can easily spot your faults, and without guilt, you can just work on getting better!
Although it took me a while to see ME from a new perspective, all my life I’ve been able to see a place (room, a street, a building, etc,) from another perspective. Idk how to explain. It’s quite mysterious. But one way to do it is this: let’s say you’re facing north on a street. If you can convince yourself you’re in a new city and you’re actually facing west, it’s CRAZY how instantly new it looks. If I imagine that I’m actually at a different spot in a familiar place relative to the main entrance, it’s a completely different and NEW space.
A few years ago I developed the ability to see THINGS from a new perspective. If I’m ever annoyed by my messy house, I change my perspective to make it look like someone else’s, and suddenly I’m like okay it’s not that bad lol. If I’m struggling with self criticism about my art, music, etc... if I see it as if I just came across it and it’s some stranger’s work, I can instantly SEE that it is not horrible in the slightest like I was telling myself.
It’s really easy. Just took a while to realize that was a thing We could do. It’s very helpful...to step out of your expectations and definitions and opinions. To just be present.

There is no "me", it is an illusion or thought. Liberation is realizing this.
I'm positive many here realize this and I'm betting my bottom dollar Jim Carrey knows as well. As long as there is identification with name and form there will be suffering and duality. For instance if you change your name or roles and find out that even with these changes the one thing in common is that you didn't go anywhere, that these concepts and labels are covering up the Life that you literally are. Whatever "this" is, can't be labelled or it becomes an object again.

Jim Carrey only has a dim understanding, it escapes him because he allows the negatives to outshade the knowledge. There are those who do not adhere to a lifestyle of 'spirituality' or use the now going catchphrases we've all become accustomed to. Those people live and know that the understanding isn't a thing to be attained or trained, it just is. Either you have it or you do not.
