Awww. I'm a 5 and thought the 5 was so sweet and also awkward. I would have wanted to hug her...but kept that inside. Instead, at the next dinner we had with her, I would have arrived precisely on time and then started getting ready to leave at 8:20p.m., so she knew I respected her plans. Oh the research we could exchange!
I know someone whose MIL is probably a 4. We DIED laughing! Not only were you spot on with the way you talked but a lot of the phrases were things she has actually said! We just kept looking at each other like "how does she know? even down to the whole name thing! this is crazy!" Fantastic job!
Even though I’m a man and can never be a MIL, but as a 4 I would name my daughter Eliza Jane after my great great grandmother Eliza Jane Hagan. History is “romantic “. Magdalena isn’t of the table either.
As a classic card carrying 2 I shall now go hide under a rock since I’m guilty of every single thing you depicted (so well) in this video……..ouch!!!!!! But TRUE!!!!!!! Feeling obnoxious!!!!!! But tell me you love me anyway!!
Damn Michelle! Your acting is on point! Freakin hilarious!! I’m still not sure which Enneagram # my MIL is. I’m not a MIL but I still saw myself 😬 still not sure if I’m a 1 or a 9. That needing more time to say if you could watch the grandkids on Saturday when it was Tuesday was spot on for me! I’m WAY more likely to say no if you don’t give me at least a weeks notice lol
Well...that was pretty clear. 😂 Love my MIL, and this was spot-on. Her 9 works perfectly with my amazing sister-in-law's 1 tendencies. I just show up when and where we're supposed to (with the cups and ice). That's what I get for joining the family last.
I could not figure out which number mine is...LOL! Fun video! I love how you represented some of them in a ~mostly~ positive way--very squirmy and uncomfortable, but ...trying... to get along, though lacking or unconcerned with self-awareness. You get it. LOL
I'm more an overprotective 6 than the "you aren't my best friend's daughter" type, but I could still totally see this as being some Type Sixes. My mother is a Six (I come by it honestly, ha ha), and she drove us crazy helicopter-grandma-ing our kid (like his helicopter mom wasn't enough). Thankfully he turned out okay, not without some neuroses ;). My own MIL? Cannot figure her out at all. There's a little culture gap (she is from a northern European country), and definitely waaaaaaaay different from me (as far from a Six as the east is from the west). This was a lot of fun, really enjoyed watching. Michelle, you do such a great job pulling off all the different types!
This was a great video! I have to say, it took me a while to get used to seeing you run them all solo, but this is one of the best enneagram videos yet! Thanks for carrying the torch.
My MIL is a 2 and this is very true! I don't have any kids, but her daughter has one and she is over there all the time watching him! She also loves to help my husband (her son), and is always making sure he's ok (which drives him crazy) lol
You nailed that 4 with the Jane name- omg! That would kill me. 😂🤣 Love my daughters in love, so I am lucky. There have been some girlfriends that I did the death stare at! Whoops.
My MIL is a seven and I love her so much. She has energy that matches my kids and is so good with them! I honestly am SO glad I have a 7 for a MIL. She’s a gem.
Mine, too! I appreciate her energy so much. She does occasionally overstep boundaries like it showed, but never as a power move, something just occurred to her and she did it because it would be fun for the kids and didn't think about asking me. Honestly, that doesn't bother me that much. When it did (cookies for a baby), I just didn't ask her to babysit for about a year, and stayed around when she was with the baby. No hard feelings, only consequences. I'm a seven too, so we get along fairly well. 😊 I convinced her to go kayaking with me for the first time in her seventies... We have a good time together almost always. We even lived with them for a couple of months and never had an argument!
Same for mine! She has been a lifesaver many times. I will say though that I also hugely appreciate when she respects our boundaries when we don't need or want help ❤
This is sooooo true, my type 8 mother in law always complains about my hair colour, cut, etc It's like she needs to say somethig negative firts to take it out her chest, just in case ; ) It used to be painfull, but now, after knowing about the enneagram I always replay something in the line of: Well, look at you, you look really nice today, as always... + smile. I'm a 4 and this is not my nature, but my 5 husband helped me to do it practicing repeticion with him first. lol
I am the "6" mother-in-law. This almost made me cry because it's really how I feel, but I can't say it. Please do one of these for the daughters-in-law!
My MIL is an 8 and I LOVE HER SO MUCH! I'm a 2, (and my mom is a 4) so it took me a while to figure out how to move. She used to terrify me. But I wouldn't trade her for anything. She loves me so fiercely. BTW, I am positive that my FIL is a 5, and it's pretty much exactly the way you showed the 5 here. I listened to him explain to me how lenses and vision works for 45 minutes the other day. It was rad.
My MIL is a 2, and yes, she does drop by unannounced with food for us-- and it is great! And this video made me very glad my MIL isn't an 8 (I'm a 9 and can't handle that).
I am a 4 who loves dramatic names! My daughter is Avangeline Therese. I changed the spelling from Evangeline to Avangeline to be unique! But the joke is on me as she is called Ava and there are 17 other Avas in her damn class!
Lol! As a 9w1 I have been very first a couple of years or dead last or after Christmas. It really depends on whether my 1 wing is having a moment or not.
“I’ll be dying inside, but I’ll have a smile on my face.”
The 9, Ladies and Gentlemen.
Awww. I'm a 5 and thought the 5 was so sweet and also awkward. I would have wanted to hug her...but kept that inside. YASSSS! Love to hear this.
My MIL is an 8 and I’m a 4. I love the space she gives us and never butts in on us. I do find that we misunderstand each other often
Type 4 deserves a freaking Oscar.
As a 9 mil, i died inside a little that you did me so accurately. But I’m fine…
You are SO GOOD at getting the essence, speech patterns, mannerisms of each one. Absolutely amazing. And such a needed laugh. Thank you!
Even though I’m a man and can never be a MIL, but as a 4 I would name my daughter Eliza Jane after my great great grandmother Eliza Jane Hagan. History is “romantic “. Magdalena isn’t of the table either.
MAGDALENA! Love it
@@LeeannMichellefunny Magdalena is another great great grandmother, from Transylvania of all places.
On paper a 4 is totally me, but the stereotypes aren’t me at all 😂 I also test as a 2
As a classic card carrying 2 I shall now go hide under a rock since I’m guilty of every single thing you depicted (so well) in this video……..ouch!!!!!! But TRUE!!!!!!! Feeling obnoxious!!!!!! But tell me you love me anyway!!
Omg....this is absolutely HILARIOUS!! You girls should have your own show on TV!! You are so incredibly talented!! So glad that I just found you!!
Damn Michelle! Your acting is on point! Freakin hilarious!!
I’m still not sure which Enneagram # my MIL is. I’m not a MIL but I still saw myself 😬 still not sure if I’m a 1 or a 9.

As a type 4 I wouldn't vibe with the name Jane either and would pick Ophelia over it any day.. ;-) Love special and unusual names..
I'm not a 4 (I'm a 6), but I wish I'd had a daughter in addition to my son. I would have loved an Eowyn. (Or maybe Galadriel...)
Sameee, its also bcs my name is unique too
Well...that was pretty clear. 😂 Love my MIL, and this was spot-on. Her 9 works perfectly with my amazing sister-in-law's 1 tendencies. I just show up when and where we're supposed to (with the cups and ice). That's what I get for joining the family last.

oh, thank you for these words. Your comments always make me smile. Thanks for being here!!
These videos are so good!! I hope you’ll come back and finish all the types ❤
This was a great video! I have to say, it took me a while to get used to seeing you run them all solo, but this is one of the best enneagram videos yet! Thanks for carrying the torch.

My MIL was a 9. Nailed the double talk. I’m an 8. That is definitely the MIL I will be. Lol
You nailed that 4 with the Jane name- omg! That would kill me. 😂🤣 Love my daughters in love, so I am lucky. There have been some girlfriends that I did the death stare at! Whoops.
I’m a 9w1, but this made me question if I’m really a mistyped 4 😂
My MIL is a seven and I love her so much. She has energy that matches my kids and is so good with them! I honestly am SO glad I have a 7 for a MIL. She’s a gem.

These are GREAT🤣 I just had a glimpse of my future self. Sure! I don't mind listening to a podcast during rush hour on the freeway🥴
No problem! Anything that makes YOU happy.
My MIL is a 2 but she lives across the ocean :( Whenever we visit it's like we're staying at a five-star hotel!
My MIL is a 2w1. She's always looking for ways to help us. 😃 I'm actually really thankful for her.
Same for mine! She has been a lifesaver many times. I will say though that I also hugely appreciate when she respects our boundaries when we don't need or want help ❤
I never thought about which number mine is, but then I watched this and was able to figure it out immediately! 😆
And???
Too funny! You were good at all of these types!
You need to do the 8 when someone messes with their kids...
+ smile. the 9 is 100% accurate ahahah i magine myself became a mother in law
Ok I read this as Mothers in LAW (as in lawyers) and I was like dang that's so specific 😂
HA!!!
My mom and my MIL are both 9s, and this just feels so homey to listen to :)
I wasn't sure..but now I am. 😅 She 1 (the babysitting planning part is just spot-on)
HAHAHAHAHAAAA (tears)
My MIL is a 2, and yes, she does drop by unannounced with food for us-- and it is great! And this video made me very glad my MIL isn't an 8 (I'm a 9 and can't handle that).
I dearly love my 8w7 mil. You captured the essence well
As an 8w7, this is very encouraging! ;)
This is a reminder that an 8 MIL can be tough but a 9 MIL is worse. LOL. (I have witnessed both)
I’m a 7 and MIL is a hard core 1. We have 5 kids so… yeah that’s about how that’s going 🤣😬
Pope Francis always makes jokes about mother-in-laws. I think he would really love this video! I know I love it!
Let's get it in front of him! ;)
Number 2 and 7 cracked me up 😂😂
I am a 4 who loves dramatic names! My daughter is Avangeline Therese. I changed the spelling from Evangeline to Avangeline to be unique! But the joke is on me as she is called Ava and there are 17 other Avas in her damn class!
Oh no!!! 🤣🤣🤣
My kids are only 6 and 8, and I can ALREADY see me being this person to their spouse 😮🤣🤣
in this house we love and appreciate yolo grandma
You are hilarious! I love your videos.
Where is your partner in crime?!
Thanks! She’s around, but nursing a baby and homeschooling. We just filmed some stuff together last week, so you’ll see her soon!!!
The 8 MIL is sooo true
I would love to have the type 5!
I'm a 5 and this is hilarious!
I'm such an 8 & it's gotten me in trouble my whole life! I didn't know til last year it was cus I'm an 8. Now I'm aware of it and can be better.
Apparently I’m a 9....this totally clarified it!! 😬
I don't know my MILs enneagram but by this she's a 2 or a 9. Both are spot on! His step mom is definitely an 8.
As a type 5......I really feel like the 2 in this
I have the Type 2 MIL. “I will never stop doing things for my son, never!“ omg 😳 😭 Like why?!? 🤣
Hilarious!
As an 8 I stan but also someone please punch me in the face if I haven't grown enough to check that behavior when my girls get married 🤦🏼♀️
Has anyone else thought that all the people who send you their Christmas card first are probably ones? 😆 As a nine it blows my mind
Lol! As a 9w1 I have been very first a couple of years or dead last or after Christmas. It really depends on whether my 1 wing is having a moment or not.
I love this ❤️❤️ 8w7
Wow, the 2 is way off.
Healthy two's tend to adopt the fours positive characteristics, so not all of them are needy and constantly around.
yeah interesting choice. there isnt enough negative female stereotypes and misogyny out there. funny!!
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE NAME JANE. IT IS INSENSITIVE TO RHYME IT WITH PLAIN.
