MBTI is more of how you think.
Enneagram is more of why are we the person we are.
Both are important but Enneagram analyzes what motivates us, what we like, our "philosophy".

According to MBTI we are born with a certain way of percieving and judging the word through our cognitive functions, the 4 letters then come from our preferences based on thoose functions.
Eneagram is based more on mental health and how the enviroment we live and grew up in led us to have certain goals and fears and the coping mechanisms we use when faced with thoose fears and the way we get to thoose goals. Through that knowledge we can know how we can grow and become more stable when faced with our fears.

Haha, I feel seen. Unfortunately, it commonly results in us accepting that we have to do a lot of it ourselves when it's a lazy or dysfunctional group that doesn't care about the assignment.

In a way, it's quite a good, humbling experience, i'd say. having an abundance of us here sends us a clear message that we ain't actually as rare or as few as we thought ourselves to be, & damn certainly ain't all that ungodly special as we like to think ourselves to be.

7w6: Plans more qualitative goals
7w8: Plans more quantative goals
8w7: Uses power for selfishness
8w9: Uses power for selflessness
9w8: More confident
9w1: Less confident

Why? It's awesome. It isn't worse to be an INFP 4w5 than any other type. When we integrate we can be some of the most creative and insightful people. We can see the beauty in everything. That's not to say we should be narcissistic, or that we're better than anyone else, but don't put us down or act like we have it worse than anyone else. I know it's a type Four thing to want to be unique and all that but I feel like telling yourself you're innately going to suffer more than anyone else just leads to excusing unhealthy behaviours.

I think it's interesting you'll notice a lot of correlations between the MBTI and Enneagrams. I'm an ENTP and 7w8
I find it interesting that any of the 16 MBTI types can be any of the 9 Enneagram numbers (not to mention the wings), while it rarely happens, it does happen. And it really shows how different one of the 16 types can be.
Yea I find one thing very interesting yet a bit sad as well... Most INTP seem to be enneagram 5 and thats how INTPs are mostly portrayed, there's a huge difference between them and the other a bit less common, yet pretty common enneagram I've come across among INTPs (9). Feeling a bit left out 🤔
I’m also an ENTP 7w8. Any Meyers Briggs type can technically fall anywhere on the Ennegram scale, but it would be pretty bizarre to be an ENTP , 9 or 1 in the Ennegram. Even though Ennegram is based on motives.. 🤷🏻♀️

As an INFP 9w8, I see a similarity between "developing the wings" and "developing functions". The 8 wing is about facing conflict with others and the 1 wing is about organizing, both of which correlate very well with INFP's inferior Te.

I’m definitely a 9w1. However, I have been trying to develop my 8 wing a little here and there in order to give me more confidence, so that I’m able to truly voice my opinions without floundering and sounding super wishy-washy, and it’s been going pretty well! 🙂

Where are all the INFJ 9w1s?
I am INFJ “the advocate” and 6w5 “the defender” and honestly, I am very much what it describes. 6w7 is “the buddy” and I really don’t see myself in that wing at all. I also took another test on an app called Youper (mental health interactive app if anyone is interested in it) and got “the counselor” which it said also corresponds to the INFJ personality type. We took the enneagram test as a family and we all got different types. My dad is 1w9 and my mom is 9w1 and I thought that was just beautiful.

The INFJs I've known are predominantly 4w5's, if we're giving credence to the Enneagram at all which I fell is silly.
With mbti you ARE your type, regardless of "tests." With Enneagram, not so much.

3:14 you're such a 4 😭Imo it's essential to learn about the other types, you learn so much about yourself through observing and understanding others. In the Enneagram the types are never an isolated entity. I'm an 2w1, but under stress, when I'm inspired or motivated, at my best, in different situations I move towards other types and their characteristics. Not to mention that understanding others, making them feel understood through the knowledge you gained through the Enneagram, can be reward in itself!

This is all very interesting. I suffer from C-PTSD and am learning how my hardwired personality traits can help me overcome the worst of it. I've still got a lot of work to do, but between having an amazing therapist and exploring who I really am, I feel so much less vulnerable now. Slàinte!

I suffer from C-PTSD as well. Sometimes I'm asking if my behavior is really like that or are those symptoms? Like am I really an introvert or is it just my sickness screaming "Stay the f... away from people." Am I really more thinking than feeling or is it again the C-PTSD screaming "No feelings! Just think this through, then we'll survive."
@@akiray8564 I'm so sorry! Are you getting help? I can recommend a book if you're ready (Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving, Pete Walker). My therapist uses it with me, as well as the personality work. I've learned that this illness can have some positive consequences if you're self aware and ready to open all those locked boxes in your brain-attic. Don't push yourself to "get better," take things slowly. It sounds like a platitude but you really, really are tougher than you think. 🖤

5w6 INTP. Makes so much more sense now. Reflecting on it, life has just been looking for someone I can apply my knowledge and skills for. Never was even picky about the cause, as long as I felt secure with the friend or leader I was working for. I think I just wanted to prove I was useful and clever. Just musing here, but I suppose the strengths of this type are intelligence, resourcefulness, and will to do whatever it takes to get the answer. Largest weakness is how easy it is to simply outsource my moral compass to the one I'm loyal to. If they are an upstanding person, you can get by. If they are not, you may subject yourself to regret down the line.

INFJ 6w5, I actually got into the wings very recently and I have to say that it’s very interesting to see that there is such specific way to separate each of the 9 enneagrams. It gives you more to research and read about. I honestly think that all of this is a great way to understand a bit more about you and use this information to grow. Thanks to this video I understood a bit more. This is a great video and thank you for talking about it in detail.

I know this video is kinda old. I like just recently found this channel some months ago and I’ve been looking through a lot of videos trying to understand typology amongst other resources. I’m the most comfortable here because you explain things the best way I can understand, you’re very relatable, and like me you’re a fellow INFJ. Harping on you mentioning of tritypes, I’m pretty confident that I’m “the researcher” who have the tritype of 1w9, 4w5, and 5w4. Just looking at basic enneagrams the 1 & 4 made sense for me to be because they had a growth/ stress connection and I know we tend to lean into either or considering ones circumstances. However, at first I was mad confused because I was identifying with 5 as well which was kinda odd due to the fact that I’m an INFJ and they have relatively lower percentages in that type. Then I started looking at wings which lead me to tritypes and to my reassurance found that out of all the MBTI types, INFJs are the most common 145s. With that said, I haven’t been seeing many enneagram videos as of late but I know this channel mainly focuses on MBTI. Nevertheless, I do hope you can consider still doing a tritypes video because honestly I am the most confused about that. 😅

I'm so glad you're talking about enneagram because I just understood the MBTI, moved onto enneagramm and I was so confused why I can't be 9w4 a a a a a a
INFP 4w3 here, man it sure feels great to be one of the most loved (infp) and hated(4) types ! Seriously why people hate 4s? sure we can be a little overwhelming and pessimistic at times but we got good qualities too! (I guess)

Fun idea:
I have a hard time visualizing types in real life unless I've met them, so for those who share this trait... if you can find some nerd friends to do tabletop or verbal roleplays and create characters with the different personalities to go on adventures together, it really helps with perspective. If you've never roleplayed before, your first character will probably look either just like your personality or just like how you wish you were. Your character might be born a stereotype as well, but with a good GM/DM creating situations in which they can grow and develop, they'll start to seem more like a real person. It really helped me identify the 16 Types and 9 Enneagram Types and how they respond to developments and stress. It may sound silly, but it worked for me (INFP Type 9). Also... STAY AWAY FROM ONLINE STEREOTYPES. These will just confuse you and make you pre-type people without really getting to know them. In my experience, many people do NOT display their true personality type when you first get to know them. And the more mature a person is, the less you'll be able to tell which type or Enneagram they are up front. Just keep that in mind. :-)

I took the test and read about the types a bit. I got a 5w4 but I was also high in 9w1which I think fits me better. I prefer working alone because of my perfectionist tendencies, but when I do work with a group or an just forced to sit through dinner with family, I try to put others thoughts and feelings before my own even though I would so much rather spend that time alone. Also, my own emotions often take a back seat and I always try my best to make sure that others are comfortable around me

Lau 4s are majority of the time introverted feeler types.
T vs F should he easy to figure out if you pay attention ti how you react to other people's issues. Do you listen to them just to be present for them, or do you need to make perfect sense of their story and immediatly start logically solving it
Also feel as if thinking types are more distant and need more time to adjust to just acknowledging someone's feelings rather than being confused by discrepancies in the story, because it's irrational

9 may be the answer. I have some perfectionism and I sometimes I feel like reforming my my surroundings, but in the end these are just thoughts. I do feel like I could be a good commander and am not afraid of trying anything, but then I just step back and let people do what they want.
I also relate to 6, and have similar connections with 5 and 7. But... you said 9 is the top, so that may be the reason why I relate to many.

Certainly we can be seen as robots, but if your wing is strong you will also have a lot of heart energy. I scored decently high with INFP and so I feel that is my MBTI "wing" so to speak lol. It is just tricky sometimes to explain my mind without explaining my heart.

9w1 and INFP here. I feel between my enneagram and mbti there is a pretty good description of me, my quirks, and how I function. Quiet, doormat, who is either going at 100% or 0%, tries to keep the peace and mediate between people, and daydreams like a champ. Haha.

Seen your video, and read some articles and books. A test told me I was a 4, but learning more about enneagram system, i think I'm a 5w6 normally, but when depression kicks in my 4 wing (5w4) is much more developed than my 6 wing
Well I’m INFJ 1W9 over here & was always perplexed at how, no matter how many times I test, it never changes. After getting involved working closely w/a Dr. who does Enneagram work she set me straight.

I took the Enneagram multiple times and always scored as a 8w5 even though, according to the Internet, it doesn’t exist ? Also, as an ENTP, I feel like the 8w5 definition completely resonates with my contradictory nature... Any thoughts on the matter ?
Naybe 8 and 5 are in your tritype. Also when a type 5 develops in a positive direction, they take on qualities of an 8.
As an ENTP (even though I consider myself an introvert), I got highest scores in 8 and 5 (literally depending on my mood, I could get either 8 or 5). ENTP's 8's don't fit into normal 8 description, we're not about controlling others, we are more about not being controlled.
