I got to meet Elvis at a gas station as a young one when he was first famous My dad started a conversation with him at a gas station in Toledo where I'm from, then Elvis stuck his head in the car to say hi to us Far out for sure
Watching again.... Cuz tomorrow is Elivis's birthday. Every Elvis fan dreaming they are anxiously waiting g forever Gracelands celebrations for his birthday.
My mom and her sisters ( 4 alltogether ) were very very devout Elvis fans. So for my mom's birthday in 1991, I took her to tour Graceland--FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE. What impressed us was the CARE given to the entire estate. Having gone back in 2016--I am resonately impressed that Graceland HAS NEVER CHANGED; the entire place remains IMMACULATE!! It's a prime great example of the professional and passionate CARE given to every square inch of Graceland.
I'm so glad I got to see this, and the tour of the house. I've always wanted to go see them but never been able to, I had tickets to go see him when I was a young girl but he died right before.
The purple 1956 Eldorado was on display at the Elvis Presley Museum in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada from summer 1983 to about 1988 in the Maple Leaf Village complex. I know because I was a teenager living 4 blocks from Maple Leaf Village and I remember it was a really big deal for all us locals when this car arrived and they opened the museum. The red 1967 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Honeymoon car was there too and those are some of the best memories of my young years . . . Next to the museum was an arcade that we played Frogger and Ms Pacman and pinball and Galaga. We used to stare at the cars and listen to the Aloha from Hawaii soundtrack that played though the museum and then go into the arcade. It was our teenage Saturday night, and those memories are so special to me. That purple 1956 Cadillac brings back my teenage years in Niagara Falls!!
My favorite will always be his pink Cadillac. Its his 1st one he bought his mama he drove it with Bill & Scotty while they worked hard to get noticed. Plus I have a picture of the 3 of them being pulled over here in it for Elvis speeding
I love these videos. Incredible to see these objects so dear to Elvis. His beautiful cars acquired though his work. Elvis was a victorious person in life because he took from this world the most valuable thing that is the love of millions of people.
This is crazy bc my Grandfather and uncle met Elvis. My Grandfather owned and worked a gas station in Florida and They didn't know who he was until he was leaving. They said he was the nicest man they had ever met. My uncle was a teenager and My grandmother was so mad bc she was a huge fan and didn't get to meet him.
These are ALWAYS great fun to watch. Angie....you remind me so much of one of my sisters. Thank you for allow all of us Elvis fans to be a part of the life of Elvis!
All the cars at Graceland were out the back of the house when I went in 1987, you could just walk round them, the pink Cadillac was roped off, I even sat in the pink Blue Hawaii jeep and I met Uncle Vester
Beautiful cars and such lovely information.all us fans just love it.thank you both so much.i had no idea you had seen Elvis in person Tom.what about Angie.did she meet Elvis.?
Another great video. Keep them coming. Restoring my 56 Cadillac at the moment any more Cadillac, car/motorcycle videos would be great. A video of the upstairs in the racketball build would be good to see too. I seen on the tour last year that it's too small to have the crowds going up but a video would be good.
The story goes that that the original colour of this Cadillac was white. Elvis had it changed to purple by crushing a bunch of black grapes on the white car bonnet and telling them that this is colour he wanted. This story comes from a picture book on Graceland that came out in the 80's.
I was never aware how many cars he had. I guess because I love pink, I basically knew of the pink car. When I went to buy my first car, I told the salesman I liked pretty colors and he said to me "I bet you like pink don't you?". I was shocked and I said, how did you know?, but my car was yellow, he said he was sorry but they did not have pink and we laughed. I told him you must know I like Elvis.
"And if you look closely there are actually pictures of this car in white..." followed by those exact pictures. They're oblivious due to having to again and again and again be "amazed" that cars from the 50's & 60' were large.
Excellent! I was hoping to see the car Elvis shot with his pistol. I think it was a Detomaso Pantera or a Lamborghini. That's the way I feel about my car some days 😉
My uncle still has his Ferrari from the 70s and not trying to brag but it’s in immaculate condition, the leather has 0 cracks, but he and a bunch of other Ferrari owners in Hawaii all pitch in 9k a person to send this Ferrari mechanic to Hawaii to work on their Ferraris EVERY YEAR!!!
In fact Elvis went to the store to get groceries and the grapes got crushed in the trunk and onto the carpet. Elvis then said, I want this car painted the same color of stain
RE: Mercedes Pullman. This is NOT the car from that scene in "On Tour". The C-pillar and shape of rear view window is completely different. The height of the back of the seat is different and the car in the movie had piping on the seat...the Benz does not. Also, in that particular scene, the interior is light colored. It's likely to have been the Cadillac shown in the very next scene.
I only came for the Ferrari. 😂 I know I'm late to comment as this video has been up for 7 years at this point. I'm not an Elvis historian, but I am a Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 historian. Here's a few facts about Elvis' car, chassis 10074: It was imported to the US in by Modern Classic Motors then sold to its first owner Robert Sinclair. Elvis bought the car used from Hollywood Sports Cars in LA and purportedly drove it back home to Memphis. The Boranni wire wheels are interesting as these cars never came with those type of wheels, they would have come with Cromodora wheels. The car has a mix of US and European bumpers, the fog lights would have been added later, and the steering wheel appears to be after market as well. There were 2,826 of these cars made during their production run (1974 thru 1980), but only 614 were ever imported to the US. This was the first mid-engine V8 Ferrari ever made, thus ushering in the new era of Ferrari (the first era being the front-engine V12 cars). It was the only production Ferrari ever designed by Bertone, and Marcello Gandini penned the design (same person who designed the Lamborghini Miura, Lamborghini Countach, Lancia Stratos, Fia X1/9, and many more). While the racing seatbelts installed in Elvis' car are not factory original equipment, it's fitting since the 308 GT4 was also the only 4-seat Ferrari ever raced with factory support. The 308 GT4 is an amazing car that holds a significant place in the history of Ferrari and the automotive world in general. A car truly fitting of the King!
I don't think you guys know how NASCARs really and look but...great videos beside that 😉 (You guys are Elvis fans...i'm a Nascar one so I nit pick things. Don't get me started on Bob Dylan!!!)
We all know Elvis is gone. Conspiracy theorist will have a hey day at the 15 minute mark when she says "they are keeping the cars maintaining them as if you know Elvis just left them on the carport, you know and we are keeping them the way that they were so that when Elvis you know that if Elvis came back that these cars would be there for him."
Dude on his tour video there was zero stuz and mercedes ( N a Z i) , both of them was an imitation of current american automobile design during his life.
What happened to his most famous Jeep. Pink Jeep with a pink and white canopy top. He used it in the movie Blue Hawaii. As a kid he gave me a ride in it on the Graceland Property.
Anita Peralez That car was bought in 1978, not 76' and he purchased it from my husband. Joe Stix was the one who came to our house and did the negotiations. The car was red and not black! Elvis painted it later. We discover this on a trip to Graceland when my husband spotted the car in the museum. Jo Stix was Elvis's bodyguard and made purchases for him on occasion. He told us that his hands were lethal weapons and were registered. If Joe Stick is still alive I can prove it by a story He told us after the car was bought and he took it to a Red Carpet event. I will finish the story when he calls.
Exactly, it's a 3L V8 that would have been lucky if it made 150-200hp in '75 with a catalytic converter(unless it was a grey market import he snuck in somehow or modified it with euro spec exhaust), even if the aerodynamics and gearing were optimized 125-140mph would be the best one might see, 150mph going down a steep hill with a tailwind would still probably not be possible. Perhaps the speedometer says 200mph and that is why they made that assumption.
1975 Dino Has a five speed transmission And 205 hp 209 foot pounds of torque 0 to 60 in 6.6 seconds And tops out at 142 mph stock Not 200 mph that would be a Bugatti Better ask somebody LOL
Not to be a naysayer. But Elvis on Tour limo is a Cadillac, not the Mercedes. The roof lines are clearly different. The Mercedes has a higher squared off roof line, while a Cadillac of the era has that rounded dome type rear corner.
carguy53 On Tour Limo was the Mercedes for sure.If you know cars there’s a distinct difference between the two and in 1972 he was using the Mercedes to get him back and forth to the shows.

I love Gates of Graceland, especially the Hidden Graceland episodes.
So amazing, that some people decided to restore the purple Cadillac so it can go back to Graceland.

Damn I'm glad you covered the 56 Cadillac Biarritz but I wish you'd cover the 1956 Continental Mark II
ELVIS had STYLE
I've always wanted to close the doors to his cars lucky him :)
This is no tthe limo from the ‘72 Elvis on tour Jacksonville scene. That car was a ‘66 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 series.
They didn't mention probably because they don't know but Elvis gave the purple Cadillac to a fan in 1957

i am surprised Elvis didn't have a van in his collection of cars
Love this one too! Why didn't you tell the story of Elvis crushing the grapes on the car and saying that's the color I want it!!
geordab so the grape crushing is true
In fact Elvis went to the store to get groceries and the grapes got crushed in the trunk and onto the carpet. Elvis then said, I want this car painted the same color of stain
The stain is still in the trunk carpet

The dino is worth high end 61,000 & has a top speed of about 135 mph
Angie is 👍👍👍👍👍
All the car still working
is there gates of graceland, raquet ball building ?
I wondered if that photo was him standing in the Mercedes
Elvis had all the toys !
I would so love to have her job.
They did not only use the mercedes in Elvis on tour. I dont think its the mb at 6.28
Love the videos, but 200 MPH in a DIno? Not even with a strong tail wind, while falling of the side of a mountain. ;-)

Of course Elivs could drive a stick, he was a truck driver
Stone cold coffee only ever driven a manual as us Brits call it best way to drive
