It did not last even 90 years. I definitely wouldn't call it strongest caliphate. In my opinion Ottomans were much more stronger because they were the longest lasting Muslim state even in its worst time still had considerable power to beat Brits like in Gallipoli and Kut in WW1 and its relatively stable in MENA parts.
