Thank you so much and greetings from Colombia! I'm a US expat and do races here in the Andes. I'm originally from Colorado, so between my new home of 7 yrs and my old home, the mountains are my salvation. However looking at this beautiful forest with it's muddy trails, the beauty (and the challenge) nearly brought me to tears. Thank you again.
I live in Athens, GA and was in Huntsville two weeks ago for work. I planned on running trails in Monte Sano State Park, but, unfortunately, had badly sprained my ankle that weekend running on the Duncan Ridge Trail. After seeing this video, I definitely need to get out on those trails my next time in AL.
What did your feet look like at the end of the race? What did you do to take care of them? What shoes were you wearing? By the way, great job and thanks for another awesome video which makes me feel like I am right there with you.
I wore out a pair of Altra Timp 4 at this race, tore a giant hole into one of them when I kicked a tree branch that was pointing into the trail. My feet were fine. I usually only encounter foot issues over distances beyond 50K, even when they are as atrocious as they were this day:-) I do recommend trying out different methods to prep your feet as everyone is different. For example, making sure you don’t have big calluses on your feet, treating your feet with some type of lubricant prior to the race start, petaling your feet and a few other options until you find one that works for you. I what works for me still seems to always change from event to event and year to year as well. You never stop learning and adapting:-)
I ran that with you! It was wet :) So much fun. Thanks for making a video so I can remember the day
Definitely one of the most memorable of all Mountain Mist finishes for me.
Thanks for the great video Martin. Gave me the experience of doing the race without the pain, mud and blood.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Glad you enjoyed it! I’m sure your new home has some spectacular scenery to run in.

You should definitely make it on to those trails the next time you're in town.
Damm! That was insane! Some “training run”. Hope you’re in one piece
Yeah, it was interesting conditions for sure:-)
Great job out there! What a gnarly race with all the mud, water, leaves, roots, rocks, hills, etc. Beautiful race!
Thanks, man! This race never disappoints!
This was such an amazing video. A world of Wlaterfalls. My daughter ran this course the last couple years so it's nice to see what she did.
Thanks! Yes, it’s a beautiful place with challenging terrain.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time out of your race to share this with us! I live 4.5 hours from Huntsville, I'd love to try this one!
Do it, it will be worth your time. I’ve had friends fly in from Washington and Utah this year and they plan to come back again next year!
