@@GenericYTFan - If you go for achievements, you need certain party combinations. @@MortismalGaming There is one channel. GamerthumbTV that does story stuff like its a documentary. My hope is that source for all is the canon ending, because Lucian getting away with all his terrible choices just doesn't feel right. Also we do see blessed surfaces, and other source related things in Divinity: Fallen Heroes pre release material.
Quick side note: In the cave of Mordus, at the point where you get jumped by the Voidwoken to get cocooned, it is actually possible to win the fight. The key is to avoid being in line of sight since their ability to cocoon requires seeing a character much like any ranged ability. I did so by utilizing one of the many steam summoning capabilities as I had 2 characters in my party, with Lone Wolf, who had specs and spells in the fire and water trees respectively and managed to do so in combination with smoke to keep my characters from becoming targetable. I am sure there was some luck involved in it but it is definitely possible. I believe there is a hole you can uncover with Wits that will appear so you can go into the dungeon proper after or before said fight. I found it after the fact.
I’ve played through this game twice and just finished the Wreckers Cave and had no idea that there was even a “cocooned” in the cave moment. This game is so damn cool.

Okay, I appreciate this video because I'm one of the players who couldn't get through the game myself. I know these are just excuses, but I needed to look up solutions to the puzzles. Ultimately, I could not get past the difficulty spike in act two when you go to the mines. Thank you for the storybook version of this game. I can only hope that if the title you mentioned that was put on hold does come out, these issues will be addressed.
A friend and me are on a third play through. 1. one was normal with Fane and custom, Sebille and Red Prince as companions. We were confused by the story, but loved the game. Fane released the Ethernals. 2. one was a lone wolf duo playthrough, with the indent to make anything better. Lohse and Beast, no companions, tactician mode. I don't remember the ending, but the story was still confusing. Now we are at our third one: Murdor hobos. Don't ask, just kill. Only one source point, malady dies at Arx (whoops), no one is alive. Obvisiouly we are not interested in the story any more. We are more intrigued how far we can become just straight killing everyone. Targuin, Gareth , Jahan and many many many more - all dead a few moments after they meat us. We are now at Arx and we are planning to release the Deathfog. Your video helps a lot! We are still confused by the complex and ever changing story, but the video explain some details. We are planing a fourth play through. Highly modded. Damn, what a good game. 22:00 - There is still a bug in the game where party members may not learn the Bless skill after talking to the statue in the vault. Check once you have left the realm that every character knows Bless. Send those who don't to the statue and have *them* touch it. They'll go into a little sleep sequence and will know Bless once it expires. Fane seems to be especially prone to that problem when taken as a party member.
1:00:00 even easier way to win the fight is to cast cryo stasis on him which makes him invincible and also skips his turns so he never uses source to summon voidwokens. Then just kill the 3 magisters
Watched it thru - I have a save before going off to the source-island. As seen the ending choices, I think my ideal ending would be: I am the nice undead chap Fane. He would let his fellow eternals back, and work on restoring them into voidless form. Sharing source seems a good idea too. He wouldn't let the King back, not only because leaders always responsible for everything, but he personally hates him for the actions against their family. Our late dead God - Lucian - would accompany him into the Void, of course, as we aren't cruel. As doG Almighty he would appoint his companions as lesser goDs to spheres of faith instead of races, the mad singer girl, the lone wolf, the dwarf, according to their life-philosophies. He'd resurrect his daughter, and if she behaves good, purges all source from the world for her on her 18000th birthday, if she still wants it. Let her decide maturely.
1h 32 mins. I used Spirit vision after defeating Alexander. I convinced him to help us & he told me the order of the statues to open the academy. Its also an interesting conversation where he proves (to me anyway) that he isn't a bad guy.
I never agreed to Lucian's ploy to surrender my source as I though it was so foolishly naive that it was probably braccus' influence or something. Never knew it let you skip phase 1 lol. With how absolutely nuts you could be in that fight with apotheosis and skin graft it wasnt that much of a speed bump compared to unweakened doctor demon from earlier. As for the ending itself I felt that sealing away source was a whole another pandoras box and if it backfired the world would be completely defenseless against the void. Redistributing source or becoming the new divine seemed like the good endings to me but for a continued narrative Lucians plan has more potential and less loose ends so cant blame them for making that one canon.
Really like your content and hope this channel becomes even more popular. Constructive criticism, I wish you wouldn't use "actually" and "basically" as often as you do. Hope I don't come off as rude. All the best!
Lucian did lots wrong to do something right so that nothing would be wrong which means he intended nothing wrong when he was doing wrongs to right wrongs which make things right
My friend and i just finished the game yesterday. That was such an adventure. We tried to do alot of the puzzles blind but we screwed up and ate lord arhu and didnt get the "POWER" hint in room of death. Spent over 2 hours trying to figure out that crap and had to google it :( Had a blast finishing it :)
Giving everyone the ‘blessing’ of source is in my opinion the best choice to make for the future of Rivellon. There will always be power struggles within a world of mortals. There will always be bloodshed, strife, sickness, hunger, and turmoil within a world of mortals. However, I think it is highly likely that an abundance of source will help Rivellon overcome some of the suffering that would be guaranteed without it, such as hunger and disease. In addition to the fallibility of the mortal existence, I believe that bestowing the denizens of Rivellon with source will give them the ability to repel the void and its servants, if such a threat were to ever reappear. I can’t say that the world would be at total peace, but I have to believe that if push came to shove, the source infused mortal races of Rivellon would put their differences aside, band together, and use their combined source powers to repel any foreign magical threats. Peace is possible in world filled with source!! In my heart I believe that :) Plus, let’s face it, the world would be so boring without source ;P
A bit late but if you are playing a Undead character you can make a pact with the God King at the Academy and become sworn. Potentially making you a 5th in need of a Sworn breaker if Fane also becomes sworn
Telekinesis is great for winning the ship fight while protecting Malady- make a nice heavy chest by filling an invincible chest from the Fort Joy and filling it with crates, sacks, etc. You'll one shot every enemy- its so satisfying
Such an incredible video, I love it! Only thing(s) I really found wrong were that you might’ve missed some alternative options at certain points in the story. One being that you don’t have to fight the magisters guarding Meistr Siva, you can bypass them via persuasion checks.
@I'll taketh thy cheese by force ive hit a brick wall. Just attacking doesnt work and sometimes skills arnt learned by some of my characters or it says they know the spell already. Plus everythings level 15 and I'm only 13. Maybe if I can finish some more quests
LOL I was able to beat Dallis by climbing the wall to the right of the fort entrance, avoiding her and leveling up. Then I set up barricades of barrels and attacked Dallis from above. She teleported up but I swarmed her and took her out. Unfortunately her hammer was a major disappointment.
I honestly did not know about the whole Gydian summoning the viodwoken. Keeping that idiot alive was nearly impossible on my play through. Some sourcerer's just use their powers dumbly and I didn't realize we could save his ass and us the terrible of fighting all those blobs
Just one thing, If you choose to support the Sallow Man as any character, and you kill alexander and let the sallowman live, you can join the Voidwoken as any character.
I accidentally ate the head of Alexander. But I am pretty sure if you are a undead and join the Covenant the void will still win of you prevail (I play with my sibling)
Watched just the beginning for now but certainly plan to watch the whole thing. Story for me was hard to track. Doesn't help that it took me 3 years to finish the game
I think I messed up in act 2. I did a couple of the source quests right but failed some without knowing. Hannags apprentice died. I killed the demon that tells you where the ilsle in act 3 is. I found the succubus and she is on my ship. I cleared all the source quests and alot of the side quests. I just can't seem to get act 3 to trigger. I m using custom character, Fane, beast and red prince. I'm pretty sure I've completed all of the original characters in my party's side quests. I also have the spirit eye skull and the take source from bodies skill. There is literally nothing left to kill on the whole map and I have it all discovered. It's my first play through. I wasn't sure how important decisions may effect the rest of the game play. And I'd put the game down and pick it up again later a couple times so it got to the point I'd just kill shit willy nilly without knowing consequences of the storyline. I was gonna start again using Fane as my main and only original character this second playthrough. Is there a way to salvage my first playthrough as i don't know what I could be missing to not make act 3 trigger. I read online there was a glitch that didn't make Hannags quest finish and I had to go back 10 hours to a save to fix that but her apprentice was already far gone at that point. Any suggestions? Or should I just start again? My characters have 3 source dots under their portraits. Mort mentions an event triggers that tells you where the isle is if you mess up too badly but that isn't even triggering for me. What am I missing?
Gwydian died in my playthrough but Hannag still helped me? Not sure if that's a bug for me or an error on your part. I wouldn't recommend learning from Hannag though because it removed my Pet Pal ability which really annoyed me.
The deathroom was killing me ok my fourth try i just ran to barrier and shimmyd a teleport pyramid through it and got through havent seen that online when i was looking
I love watching videos like these after beating the game because it makes me realize how skewed the path I took compared to the most “vanilla” path, even if that’s what I thought I was taking. For example, I managed to kill everyone in the final fight but Vredeman and Dallis, then killed Vredeman using Anathema right before he switched phases so the Kraken never showed up and Vredeman never became Braccus. I was way too set in killing Lucian 😂
What happen if you dont sent war owl to Arx, in theory due to this paladins will kill all magisters? (is there way to not inform paladins about magister-black ring "things" in black pits)

Spent over 2 hours trying to figure out that crap and had to google it :(
Had a blast finishing it :)
In my heart I believe that :)
Plus, let’s face it, the world would be so boring without source ;P
The ancient tree makes me think of a hist tree. Sentient, ancient and dangerous.
A bit late but if you are playing a Undead character you can make a pact with the God King at the Academy and become sworn. Potentially making you a 5th in need of a Sworn breaker if Fane also becomes sworn
dude... amazing video
Love yr work man! keep it up yr awsm!!!
Her character was ruined Windego >.
Loved the video i finished the game but missed alot lol
Telekinesis is great for winning the ship fight while protecting Malady- make a nice heavy chest by filling an invincible chest from the Fort Joy and filling it with crates, sacks, etc.
You'll one shot every enemy- its so satisfying
I love how a lot of the fights are "its a bit difficult or a pain" lol
Such an incredible video, I love it! Only thing(s) I really found wrong were that you might’ve missed some alternative options at certain points in the story. One being that you don’t have to fight the magisters guarding Meistr Siva, you can bypass them via persuasion checks.
Currently trying to do all the side quests before I move on to act 3. Really enjoying this game so far 30 hours in and 34 percent of all the trophies
@I'll taketh thy cheese by force ive hit a brick wall. Just attacking doesnt work and sometimes skills arnt learned by some of my characters or it says they know the spell already. Plus everythings level 15 and I'm only 13. Maybe if I can finish some more quests
Thaks for this. Great video
Underrated video
LOL I was able to beat Dallis by climbing the wall to the right of the fort entrance, avoiding her and leveling up. Then I set up barricades of barrels and attacked Dallis from above. She teleported up but I swarmed her and took her out. Unfortunately her hammer was a major disappointment.
I honestly did not know about the whole Gydian summoning the viodwoken. Keeping that idiot alive was nearly impossible on my play through. Some sourcerer's just use their powers dumbly and I didn't realize we could save his ass and us the terrible of fighting all those blobs
Thanks for doing this, I liked the game but hated the system of making builds/chars/skillbooks but wanted to know how it all ends
This makes me want to play this again after i tire of bg3 in a few months
Just one thing, If you choose to support the Sallow Man as any character, and you kill alexander and let the sallowman live, you can join the Voidwoken as any character.
I accidentally ate the head of Alexander. But I am pretty sure if you are a undead and join the Covenant the void will still win of you prevail (I play with my sibling)
I have loads of yard work to get done. Thank you for this ! Wrath of the righteous soon ?
When they stop updating it
A shame their is no Beast, Fane or Ifan Ben-Mezd ending tiles
Watched just the beginning for now but certainly plan to watch the whole thing. Story for me was hard to track. Doesn't help that it took me 3 years to finish the game
keeping those algorithms happy...
Possible lore question, but are ‘true’ wizards like Zandalor born, or can someone train to become a wizard that powerful and long lived?
Seems to be a training thing, the details are pretty few are far between
if you have the idol of rebirth you can actually take the ferry to bloodmoon island, you and your party will die but then you will immediately revive
Let's gooo!!
Great video!
great video
1:17:07 not only red dragons, the ice dragon too it is a lizard.
At 2:04:00 can you drain source from the tentacles to insta-kill them?
Gwydian died in my playthrough but Hannag still helped me? Not sure if that's a bug for me or an error on your part.
I wouldn't recommend learning from Hannag though because it removed my Pet Pal ability which really annoyed me.
Might have a been a change with definitive edition actually, but yeah she's the worst one to help anyway
The first gwydian fight took me over an hour. Killed him out of spite after working so hard to save him fucck that guy
Any npc: THERE IS A STORY ABOUT A MAN WHO..
me: hes dead.
Any npc: BUT I HAVENT EVE..
me: yup, i killed him.
Any npc: ...........okay heres some xp
The deathroom was killing me ok my fourth try i just ran to barrier and shimmyd a teleport pyramid through it and got through havent seen that online when i was looking
2:23:52 i snuck up and got the sword, went back and freed Windigo, then fought
I wish Tarquin's item didn't get nerfed into uselesness
I know this video is rather old at this point but you mention some links to videos in the description but there arent any linked there.
For the power source u can use electric magic to substitute for it
Well here goes my next three hours
What happen if you dont sent war owl to Arx, in theory due to this paladins will kill all magisters? (is there way to not inform paladins about magister-black ring "things" in black pits)
