I'm a bmw tech from rainy old England, we get this issue regularly and in my experience it's not the rear lights but the body vent on the osr, behind the bumper ( bar). Panel distortion from either the lightest car park ding to poor previous accident damage. Body vent needs either re sealing or replacing. You can either move pdc module or repair as you may have done already. In future if you have ista, you can use a test schedule called " bus system analysis" that would have helped you diagnose the fault, or future faults you may have.

June 4th 2022. Well I'm writing this after possibly the longest period 0 to 60 has gone in a few years without a video. (I think but I was wrong once before). I hope the move is happening (I don't recall the dates for it). But wow I miss you guys. All good blessings to you and yours.
Thanks so much man, really loved reading that. Still alive and moving. Had a few things I was expecting to happen not happen and then a few unexpected things. Proper nightmare. Just trying to get things moved and somewhere to live.
@@ZeroTo60Tube June 8th 2022. Oh man. I'll be sincerely praying for you guys right now! I too just went through a "Proper Nightmare" in terms of moving, living and "friends" I had been living with. Not Cool! Not cool at all! And just as my new turbos were finally installed completely. Mind you it made the massive boost leak troubles I've been having now that the boost increased, seem very minuscule after that. As they say "Troubles come not as single spies but in Battalions.".
Thanks. Hope this fixes mine! Mechanic has my car for some unrelated work, he rang me yesterday to say the cluster has died! Can't be a coincidence that it happened the day after I washed the car.
Hey Zero To 60, I don't know if you remember me from one of your other comment sections about my 335i running like complete crap... I have found the problem, it was the injectors being fully stuffed, for some reason there was no codes... I opted for some index 12's and runs like a dream, and way more powerful then before....
@@rabbitolychee6395 dude what a pain. have you done a adaptation reset since the new injectors. The DME may be flowing fuel based on what it learn with the old leaking injectors. So say the DME is used to requesting 10% fuel for start up. But thanks to the leak it was really getting the same as 20% fuel. It will learn that incorrect value. Now with good injectors you need more fuel on cold start than what the DME is used to supplying.
My car does that every once in a while. Like 3 times a day. I’ve chased wires and everything, no issues found. Makes me think it’s the alternator or something. Cluster dies for e few seconds and says to drive carefully when everything comes back on. If it stays down for more than a 3-4 seconds it locks the transmission in 3rd gear and I have to restart the car to drive again. No water or corrosion around battery area.
Just stumbled across here. N54 AT is a bit off the N52 MT mark I have but I can tell stuff is going on here. Will have to catch up on some videos shortly and see whats what. Loads of mods is the executive summary I’m gathering.
Having the exact same issue with my e82. Did you figure out where the leak came from in the end? I.e lights or vent as suggested, or another area? Thanks
Not sure if it will help anyone but my BMW had a leak from the fuel door drain hole. The seal around the fuel filler neck was pushed in behind the fuel door wall instead of inline with it... and therefore the rain was leaking in front of the seal in-between the wall and straight down into the boot as well as towards the front (which drained out the car). It should be going down the tube surrounding the fuel filler neck. So it's an easy thing to check if the rubber seal in the fuel filler door is correctly fitted or not
I'm having issues as well, my f30 btw cluster turns off and on....I'm sure I had water in the battery area....will the pdc issue cause the cluster to intermittently turn off and on?
Is this in the same spot on a US 2012 128i? I don't have rear parking, camera, sensors etc. I have the same behavior with the front dash switching on and off. Local mechanic said he'd probably waste tons of time trying to figure out where something is wrong and he's a local BMW guy. Maybe I should point him to this vid? Anyways, I want to try and fix this myself. Guess I'll go fishing in my car in the morning (since it may be submerged in water here in rainy Oregon).
Index 12 is the only way tbh. You can try your luck with used injectors. But you’ll likely regret it each time you reorder. Just bite the bullet and get new 12’s and don’t worry about it again
You can get Index 12's used for a better price from some wreckers etc some times. After I watched this video and he said he might have some and to email him he answered me and said he had a couple sets for sale at a much better price than new. How do you like the E82 compared to the E9x? We have a low milage E87 2.0D manual (stock, but ultra light ATM wheels), and on many occasions, I prefer it over my 335is. With the current petrol prices, half of the fuel consumption isn't a deterrent, either.
Personally i dont like the look of the e82. Apart from 1m. But they drive the same as the e9x. Same wheel base, weight is pretty similar. You just have a different looking car. The e82 is less refined mind you. It feels more raw.

They leak in through the fuel bucket. It can dry out or be damaged when removed for body work ect. I know a 1M owner who just went through the same issue. Wasn't tail light gaskets.

So a lot of people are doing what we are and moving in with friends and putting stuff in to storage. In turn there’s not even storage available.
