I think I would enjoy this one a lot more if there was actually movement or people being filmed. The way it just cuts to an image every time after a filmed section makes it less immersive imo, although this is still very creepy and well-made. I prefer something like Vita Carnis, where you actually get to see these creatures move. It isn't bad by any means, I really do appreciate this one as creepy for sure.
I think it's mainly because this creator seems to lack a lot of resources. Still, he's honestly doing really well with the amount of stuff he has at his disposal. Am excited to see where this series goes.
Its crazy how this channel only has just under 100k, im so glad i found it because over all the cheap content , your videos are (unllike them) actually captivating and the delivery is great. I hope you succeed ❤❤
Whilst it's pretty good, it unfortunately really feels like a rehash of Mandela Catalogue. Even down to it's name. Mandela County, Basswood County. It's kind of blatant. I hope it creates it's own unique identity because so far it is nothing more than a reskin with potential.
This series wears its inspirations on its sleeve, but i see it more as an homage than a copycat. It does tread the line of plagiarism. Evil beinga that steal your likeness? Where have I seen that? Humanoids that break into your house from another realm? Old VHS movies clips with a sinister twist? Police tapes? A detective character who ends up becomig a victim? Where they really set themsleves apart is with the lore surrounding the Chamber. But unfortunately, they used way too many tropes. I guess they are limited by the genre. But in spite of that, I would call this series a success. A lot of work went into artistic design, and that alone is praise worthy.
Mentioned far too many things overrule its praise. You're praiaing too little with standards too low, this is hardly better than any other new analog horror which is doing the exact same tropes
I mean the production value is nice and all, but it seems like a bit of a random mix of popular analog horror without much understanding for what makes it creepy. The chamber especially feels so random, filled with completely nonsensical "creepy shit", and as good as the art is, its difficult to ignore the stock-VHS-overlay and Jerma face lol
this has a lot in common with mandela catalogue... -strange, twisted faces -the generated whispers -vhs style -a lot of black and white contrast i dunno...
The guy who took the sewer shot is lucky as Hell to have been in a town with grated storm drains. Even then I don't think my heart would be able to pump blood after the shock of seeing this...thing
One of my favorite analog horror genres is EAS Scenarios for SCPs. A good example is Alert World's "SCP-280 Eyes In The Dark" video. The simplified symbols of the horrific creatures really leaves a lot to the imagination, while the robotic voice-overs and "Remain calm in imminent danger" vibe really crank it up for me.
tbh ion think i'll ever grow tired of the EM broadcast system + human-like creatures combo, it's really the first horror style in a long time i've found genuinely interesting
2:57 What I find most unsettling about this, is not too long ago, the internet had all those “have you seen this face in your dreams?” images going around that were reminiscent of the figures on those “have you seen this face?” papers.
i feel like all of these 'next big analog horror series' just end up being the mandela catalogue with some glitter on it. its getting to be kinda predictable
The artwork in this one is pretty creepy... But they need a better writer. "Location: A victim's home," and "It has been 11 murders until now" sounds like my 5th grade child wrote it.
not going to lie, i just don't feel the fear. Like i get the idea behind it. But when you realize the creature is nothing more then a drawing. It ceases to lose its ability to create tension. Likewise the creature is like twice the size of a normal human. How would it even fit inside a home to begin with? Or a sewer for the matter of fact. Like sure seeing something like this in the middle of the woods. Would be terrifying without any supernatural element to them. just some guy in the woods with a smile. but ya i am just not feeling it.
11:46 I am by no means saying this was a goofy susus amogus jumpscare but the fact that you called a spooky face in the dark being "horror at it's finest", I bursted out laughing
I dont think this series does enough to distinguish itself. Ultimately came off as tired and bland with little of its own to actually say and do. On top of this I feel as if it does a poor job of building tension, and its frequent use of the 'scary monster' really just makes fall flat and feel unearned.
@@Waspinmymind honestly dude at the end of the day, theres no such thing as a new idea in story telling. just new combinations. if there are people out there who enjoy more of the same and want to make their own, they will make more of the same.
@@defective.6192 honestly i feel like you shouldnt use live footage of somewhere and then just cut to an image of the same exact place at the same time but with a spooky monster edited in it just doesnt make it scary, if you're going to do that just use photos instead of videos
I actually have to really appreciate the art style of this series. Already scary concept aside, it's so visceral and pretty much every image triggers my fight or flight. This is some serious talent. It's like if Urban Spook decided to make their own take on Mandela Catalogue or Vita Carnis.
I remember I was watching the one where it says something like “sleep at even time numbers” Like at 3:00 in the morning, so guess what I did? I didn’t sleep for the next 2 hours. 😭😭😭😭
Your commentary and editing is sharp as always but for the series per se i think it was too all over the place, despite some pretty nice scenes, most of them just gave me the laughs instead of spooking me, like the "found footages" Also the sudden glitches and out of nowhere creepy faces like some folks pointed out in the comments. But its not that bad, just an ok series.
tbh i went into the series thinking "yeah, it's late at night, but it's just gonna be a silly mandela catalogue clone haha" but then that shot of the creature looking into the window in alberson's tapes had me awake well past sunrise
"This guy" is the creator, Dark Mind. Pretty sure it is him. He pops up constantly. He is image #5, he is the hands on the curtain, he is the "what does his face look like?" dude, he is also the guy in the ad who says he will catch up with you, and the eyes that open up around 23:17 and the victim in bed going through the transformation.
I think this might be the first one of these that has actually rocked my core and caused me to look away with fear. Basswood is definitely one of the best

@@southafrica331 Absolutely agree, and I totally get that, as well. I'm impressed with it regardless!!
I hope it creates it's own unique identity because so far it is nothing more than a reskin with potential.
fr, it feels like just a copy paste of mandela county lmao
Yeah, it just felt like the same story just without like religion as a part of it. :/
22:32 as a tf2 player, i cannot listen to this music without imagining a spinning A posing heavy
just had a heart attack
I didnt even reach that part of the video and was reading the comments and I already know what it is.
Thank you! This series is not a “work of art” it’s a generic cheap show a scary face every 5 seconds analogue horror series.
nothing will beat thought forms imo. it's been in my head for years and nothing will ever be able to top that
Series is a bit derivative for me to really get into it. I mean, you even intuitively use the term "Alternate" to describe the mimic creatures.
we have found the most analog horror analog horror series
Most cut and copy cheap lazy series ever
@@ahumanbeing8371who tf are you
@@ahumanbeing8371make something better then
this has a lot in common with mandela catalogue...
-strange, twisted faces
-the generated whispers
-vhs style
-a lot of black and white contrast
i dunno...
i remember back when this series was so unknown…after watching it i couldn’t find it for months. that’s how underground it was
The guy who took the sewer shot is lucky as Hell to have been in a town with grated storm drains. Even then I don't think my heart would be able to pump blood after the shock of seeing this...thing
I stopped being scared when you added the open the door or I’m gonna throw rocks
the fact it appears to be teasing people somtimes or just taking there camera and showering there amutated arm is... very unnerving
The best part about this type of horror is that it doesn't over-rely on earblasting you with jumpscares. It just straight up makes you feel unsafe.
"out in the woods" with logan paul jumpscare had me 💀
tbh ion think i'll ever grow tired of the EM broadcast system + human-like creatures combo, it's really the first horror style in a long time i've found genuinely interesting
Analog horror creators ready to make the 732,804th “oooo spooky monster mimicking humans!!!!1!” Series (they won’t stop)
Exactly, this shit is so extremely corny
2:57
What I find most unsettling about this, is not too long ago, the internet had all those “have you seen this face in your dreams?” images going around that were reminiscent of the figures on those “have you seen this face?” papers.
i feel like all of these 'next big analog horror series' just end up being the mandela catalogue with some glitter on it. its getting to be kinda predictable
Bro my exact irrational fear is seeing things staring at me around corners, its like this was made to fuck with me
always nice to see when you upload
The artwork in this one is pretty creepy... But they need a better writer. "Location: A victim's home," and "It has been 11 murders until now" sounds like my 5th grade child wrote it.
"to show off his handy work" inserts patrick Booooo. that was golden thank you for that.
This feels heavily inspired by the mandela catalogue
Creatures impersonating humans was something Mandela copied? Or made it more spooky?
“Are you still awake????” I was falling asleep but I am awake now, yes.
honestly fun way 2 not fear analog horror monsters is to fantasize that you are making out with them.
THEY CANT HIDE FROM ME
wtf xd
the hooded figure in my corner IS lookin pretty fine tn ngllll
Ah yes best defense against analog horror monsters is meanest sloppy of all time
I don't know, just the thought of having any of those things that close to my face is pretty terrifying, in my opinion. But I won't stop you...
I'm sorry, but the music at 22:34 made me think of the spinning number station heavy. I am now laughing like a moron.
Your voice is incredibly calming and i listen to your videos while drawing
22:30 absolute fear
22:34 reflex to get out of my chair and start spinning
If this series monster is a brain parasite than I'm truly safe.
not going to lie, i just don't feel the fear.
The though of the lanky monster struggling to get into a door is kind of funny
Holy frick just seeing the clips filled me with such dread. When your narration cut out to show one I had to cover the screen then back up 😭
That silence at 17:00 made me get jumpscared by a cough that actually happened outside the video.
9:06 I dead ass thought it was just some naked dude and you had to sensor it and thats what I conjured up
I’m getting serious Mandela catalog vibes
Yeah no shit
As someone who gets easily freaked out by distorted faces, this one gets to me more than most horror stuff.
So basically dark european Mandela Catalogue.
British Catalogue

Prediction: the whole thing is scary face syndrome.
you are right
The Patrick booing moment over the ripped off arm had me howling 😂
6:39 open the door or im gonna throw rocks throw your window audio is what made me lose all fear of this video
I am shaking with excitement (and fear), cannot wait to experience this!
Edit: for what it’s worth, i laughed at the handiwork joke
Love these videos, perfect thing to sleep to lol
That thumbnail can only be described with one word; uncomfortable
23:31 Alien Parasite that pretends to look like people? THE THING?!
Who tf is just standing in there hall watch the scariest creature just start at them
They either have a death wish or were frozen in fear
Gettin close to the 100 k milestone keep it up my man
It’s Alfredo 😭
11:46 I am by no means saying this was a goofy susus amogus jumpscare but the fact that you called a spooky face in the dark being "horror at it's finest", I bursted out laughing
something to listen to while studying lets go!
I'll probably watch the series because, for me, it teaches an important lesson: for a story, to not be original doesn't mean being bad.
Ah disagree. If someone tells the story better trying new ideas will spice things up.
@@penntopaper9305 Yeah okay. You know what they mean. This is highly unoriginal and suffers from that fact more than it benefits.
@@defective.6192 honestly i feel like you shouldnt use live footage of somewhere and then just cut to an image of the same exact place at the same time but with a spooky monster edited in
it just doesnt make it scary, if you're going to do that just use photos instead of videos
So you slept at an uneven number? They'll make sure you don't do that again
Even though 4:00 was an hour away?
Can't forget about Gemini home entertainment and how wood crawlers can so easily kill and invade your home
Love the Microsoft Sam voice. Haven't heard that in ages.
Your commentary and editing is sharp as always but for the series per se i think it was too all over the place, despite some pretty nice scenes, most of them just gave me the laughs instead of spooking me, like the "found footages"
Also the sudden glitches and out of nowhere creepy faces like some folks pointed out in the comments. But its not that bad, just an ok series.
7:06 how do people find stuff like that scary, its more goofy to me
resident evil ahh plot
At 7:36, it looks like the same tests for people who are having a good time, just like in the Subliminal Land Anolog Horror series.
tbh i went into the series thinking "yeah, it's late at night, but it's just gonna be a silly mandela catalogue clone haha" but then that shot of the creature looking into the window in alberson's tapes had me awake well past sunrise
But your not wrong in thinking it's a mandela catalogue copycat
"This guy" is the creator, Dark Mind. Pretty sure it is him. He pops up constantly. He is image #5, he is the hands on the curtain, he is the "what does his face look like?" dude, he is also the guy in the ad who says he will catch up with you, and the eyes that open up around 23:17 and the victim in bed going through the transformation.
Thumbnail jump scared me bro 😭😭😭😭
Eyyy finally new arg!! Love the videos❤
love to see scary stuff when i try to stay up longer. It helps me to stay awake until i pass out
I think this might be the first one of these that has actually rocked my core and caused me to look away with fear. Basswood is definitely one of the best
One of my favorite channels covering analog horror made by one of my favorite artists
Oh Look, it is the Mandela Catalogue faces and spooky music , AGAIN, Analog horror is truly getting the freddy fazzbear treatment
camera men always the strongest until it comes to analog horror😭
