Years ago worked for a mobil trailer build. Wore steel toes. Every time something was dropped it was above toe level. A couple times the steel line showed the drop just exactly where to cut off the toes. Useless piece of expencive junk.

watching these huge pieces of wood being cut is all well and good but unless you see what the pieces are eventually turned into you can't get the total picture of why they were cut in the first place. I'm sure the tree huggers in the world just cringe when they see these types of videos but it might take some of the bite out of their barking(no pun intended) if they saw the final product. I know I'd love to see what these pieces eventually become.

Based on the appearance of the workers I'd guess SE Asia somewhere. Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia. (Looking at a different vid by this same channel, I saw "VietTel" on a sign. Perhaps signifying VietnamTelephone? --- IDK just guessing.)

Flop flop, hip hope. At least these fellows are working earning a living, not sitting around policing other people’s wearing apparel.

Lighten up Francis... they ain't makin' firewood out of it. Believe it or not, this isn't the one in existence either. There are HUGE restrictions on the harvesting of these incredibly gorgeous species. These hardwoods are revered and treated with incredible care when in the hands of a true craftsman. Nearly NOTHING is wasted when working with this stuff.

I agree 100%. They should be wearing steel-toed safety boots like I do when I murder ancient trees.
