To your comments about D-Day. I say Amen. I was only 9 years old on that Day but I remember hearing the prayer of FDR on the occasion. and seeing the pictures of the invasion presented in the newsreels in the local theatre. My. Dad was much too old to go to war but he was in the oil business. In face the wells owned by his company was about a mile from the terminus in the great East Texas Oil field of the BIG INCH. the pipe line that carried oil by sway of Houston to the New Jersey ports where ships took this life blood of the US military to England and then by other pipe lins to the forces in France. Hence my 52 year old Dad served as a kind of private in that great war efforts like millions of other men and women who contributed through their labour to the defeat of Nazism. Would that we could have defeated forever the great evils that have infected the Western mind since the French Revolution, which are as equally hostile to Christ as was Adolph Hitler.

So much blood shed for our freedom ... Those who fought with such a sacrifice would be rolling in their graves if they knew how much our country has gone down the tubes ... how sad indeed 😢

Dr. Mohler, excellent discussion on D-Day. Thank you. Thank you also for encouraging people to bring their children of all ages into the corporate worship service. That said, it would be great if you would also encourage the dissolution of age segregated Sunday schools and the abominable, unbiblical practice of "youth groups." In a similar vein, it would be great if you would encourage people listening to your platform and to encourage pastors to Shepherd their people away from the insanity and unbiblical practice of serial dating.

Yes, that young man should definitely look at the single women within his congregation for a potential mate. The young women of a congregation should also look to the young men in their congregations and, where possible, help break down the barriers of shyness and fear of rejection such that that young fella can be more confident and assured in approaching her. A young man just needs a little clue, a smile, a look, a wave, an inch if you will, and he’ll go the rest of the mile.

Why do you think Patton said we should have sided w/ Germany?

    • @PatrickTrent

Because he understood the Soviet Union was far more of a threat than Hitler and Nazi Germany

Perhaps, just maybe, some people don't want to "date" others within the same congregation is because they think sleeping together is part of "dating." I am just guessing here, but perhaps the Christian idea or concept of "dating" has been so diluted with modern day and pop-culture philosophy that they cannot understand how to date one another and for that to not be awkward if they stop dating. Because sleeping together (a.k.a. fornication) and then not sleeping together would be awkward, especially sitting in a Christian Church. Christians don't even understand human relationships from a Biblical view anymore.

Sir Winston Churchill, British Prime Minister, from his Speech in the House of Commons, August 2, 1944 "War Situation":
"I have left the obvious, essential fact to this point, namely, that it is the Russian Armies who have done the main work in tearing the guts out of the German army. In the air and on the oceans we could maintain our place, but there was no force in the world which could have been called into being, except after several more years, that would have been able to maul and break the German army unless it had been subjected to the terrible slaughter and manhandling that has fallen to it through the strength of the Russian Soviet Armies."

Do you prefer the words of Churchill's predecessor Sir Neville Chamberlain who, upon his return to Great Britain after signing the Munich Agreement with Chancellor Adolph Hitler of Germany, spoke the following on September 30th, 1938:
"The settlement of the Czechoslovakian problem, which has now been achieved is, in my view, only the prelude to a larger settlement in which all Europe may find peace. This morning I had another talk with the German Chancellor, Herr Hitler, and here is the paper which bears his name upon it as well as mine [shows paper to crowd]. Some of you, perhaps, have already heard what it contains but I would just like to read it to you: " ... We regard the agreement signed last night and the Anglo-German Naval Agreement as symbolic of the desire of our two peoples never to go to war with one another again. My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep."
      [WW Norton Com /college/history/ralph/workbook/ralprs36.htm]
Quoting Wikipedia: "The phrase [Chamberlain's 'peace for our time'] is primarily remembered for its bitter ironic value since less than a year after the agreement, Germany's invasion of Poland began World War II."

@@annakimborahpa I don’t care for either of them because they were both war mongers. I prefer the words of Patrick J Buchanan in his book “The Unnecessary War”
