This is so awesome! Other people have posted the "Theater Bizarre" bumper on UA-cam, but not the TV29 in Philladelphia. Apparently, other Northeastern stations paid for that animated bumper and it's music. However yours is the first on UA-cam to show the Philadelphia one…and on a Godzilla movie! I remember seeing that prologue for the first time. So cool. I wish I had been old enough to see those Showa movies in the theater when I was a kid. I was definitely raised on Godzilla on the TV.
I grew up with Godzilla on TV too! I watched Godzilla movies in the afternoon on channel 7 (NYC) in the 70's and 80's. Showa Era ended in 1989. I had never seen Godzilla on the big screen until I moved to Japan.

very awesome indeed im from boston so seeing these old local spots is special my channel was ch.56 on Friday nights you got to watch creature feature just one movie after love American style haha and then Saturdays were the jackpot creature double feature on ch.56 if you ever have a chance go to you tube and put in ch.56 boston creature double feature theme it is so cool!!!ahh the good ol days when we were young I wanna be young again!!!!!!!!!!oh well

Old UHF airings of Godzilla with original commercials intact are super rare, and this TV version prologue is very difficult to find in decent quality in its original fullscreen. Your recording looks to be in great quality.
@@jrgojira yeah a lot of the Showa films had edits made to them when they were imported, and some of them are kinda overlooked in terms of their charm. This, while seemingly out of place and pace reducing, served as a neat way to introduce a long running film series to people who came into the franchise late. Terror of Mechagodzilla was my first, and to this day is tied with Biollante as my favorite Godzilla film, and I’ve been a die hard fan for well over 25 years.
