New Zealander here. The deficits in the coaching and in certain players are well known if you take an impartial look at them. Which we aren't encouraged to do really. But every team has their faults and foibles. I would like to say 'Well played' to the saffas. Despite being a New Zealand fan, my favorite player on the international scene has been Faf de Klerk for a long time. He transforms that team when he's on the pitch. And Kolisi Father Of Dragons is a beast. An absolute star. Congratulations to the green men.
Siya is everything to South Africans. This whole team is just peaking at a perfect time. The players, coaching and medical staff. The Motherland applauded you. Also, thanks for this content. 👏🏽
To be fair, it’s not the WC. But amazing game boks - huge for you. Remember, NZ will make the qtrs regardless of a loss to France - then it’s 3 games, with some luck :)
@nzfreeski I back ABs to get the win over France in the opener. And after watching Scotland and Ireland today, I like our chances of topping pool B. So I reckon boks play France in the quarters final and ABs play either Scotland or Ireland and then God willing we have a Bok vs AB WC final
Thanks for mentioning the rivalry. It means a huge amount to us in SA and NZ. Whatever happens at the WC, yesterday's match will be remembered for decades to come!
Nah, it was a build up friendly. South Africa had far more to play for after their loss last time they played NZ. The All Blacks are focusing on the RWC and although this loss will have been painful it was a meaningless game. The Springboks probably did the All Blacks a favour. Looking forward to the RWC.
Kiwi supporter here. What this shows to me is these top teams are only ever one game from a blinder or a humbling. It’s so important to turn up mentally
As a Kiwi, I think you've nailed it mate. SA and Ireland, their next cabs off the rank mean they barely miss a beat whereas apart from a couple of positions we are not there with that depth. We couldn't bring on a bench, apart from at 9, to turn it around last night. Being down to 13 or 14 players was purely our own fault, the team has admitted that. The Boks were awesome, their 'two packs' were amazing and yeah, Siya is an icon. I think we'll still give this RWC a nudge but SA have set the bar now, they mean business, this is going to be some tournament.
Most sensible comment I have read from a NZ supporter. Totally agree mate,m. Jacque N recently stated that 40% of their coaching bonus was linked to wins. But as a coaching staff they decided as a group to sacrifice that desire to win all games with growing depth. We are now benefiting from that call made. I still think NZ can turn it around in 2 weeks but you can’t get that depth in 2 weeks unfortunately. Still we meet in Quarters or Final it will be 50/50 as always at the moment never know who will win.
As a Bok supporter. I did not expect this kind of performance from Both sides. Even when we scored it felt like NZ were always on the verge of scoring back but it never materialised and that confused me right up to the end of the match. Still shocked the next day
The Andre/Moodie combo has the makings of a great partnership, especially with Kolbe/Wllemse/Arendse on their shoulders. ...and then ESPECIALLY with the slick creativity of Libbok directing play at 10. That backline, behind the monster bok pack, will be devastating!
Agree with you on Scott Barrett. That was worthy of a citing, even if it wasn't upgraded to yellow by the bunker. "Tackles" or "clearouts" like that have to be eradicated from the game.
Ref said it is his second yellow card and will mean he goes off on a red card, but he still made the cross-arms of "yellow card on review". I think he will be cited.
@@tayodavy6763it stayed a yellow he has not been cited. And Scott Barrett wanted to move marx who was lying on our side of the ruck. I guess next time he will have to ask him nicely to move, because he couldn't have got lower
If you look at Owen's body up to and after the 'tacle' you can see that he put every muscle in his body behind his shoulder. It was intentional from the start
That thing that you can't quantify about Siya Kolisi is that he literally came from nothing, born into poverty and knows what it's like to go to bed hungry. He has incredible mental strength and pure determination that comes from building from nothing. 👑🦁
Ive realised with south africa and spending time there and speaking to guys from townships, white english and afrikaans that the team is simply playing for something more, something deeper. You have a country which is threatening to implode. Men playing for their townships who come from nothing, scrumming down with boer farmers And white english guys who at a junior level are often themselves or see peers denied opportunities due to being white. They come together for a common goal and it is frightening, devastating. Recent poor form aside i dont know how our english guys can compete. There isnt the engrained trauma and hardship in the dna, which breeds the devastating on field displays we see from the boks. It is scary yet beautiful at the same time, the anthem alone sets the boks apart. Truly they and NZ are the two great rugby nations, i hope we will be one day but i just cant see it.
Love what you said about Siya, he makes a massive difference to not only our team but for unity in SA. I think Ardie Savea is the best fit for Captaincy at the Allblacks. Siya and Ardie are cut from the same cloth 🇳🇿❤️🇿🇦 Both exceptional leaders & humans
True, but he had a poor game yesterday. He was barely seen in the game. Not half as good this year as he was last year and he was pretty blunt in the Rugby Championship too
Rassie has been building to this worldcup for 4 years with basically the same players, don't know why everyone is so surprised with this result, all blacks will probably still reach semis or final
As for the reactions of fans from both sides, it's always been this way. Both the Boks and ABs have spoken for years about on the field rivalries and off field friendships. There's also great respect. See you on the flipside ABs ✌💚💛🇿🇦
100% Agree about Scott Barret, he went straight off his feet into the ruck when the ruck was almost over, lead with the shoulder into the shoulder and above area of a player on the ground. To me that's a red all day, it's just about textbook of what not to do.
Agreed. Scott B clean out on Marx was almost a carbon copy of PSDT's action on Darty ...except Barrett wasn't pushed by one of his own players into the collision. It was intended or stupid or both. PSDT copped a lengthy ban.
NZ got yellow cards managing the avoidance of a +50 - 0 score. Pressure created the many penalties & cards ... In end the score did not reflect that. Boks are keeping physicality but adding backline positional similar to AB's ,.. yet a wounded AB team is frightening too. ... going to be a very interesting RWC
Im just in awe of our win yesterday, i really can't believe that we won like that. It makes me so happy, and I'm so overjoyed . To the all blacks, it's always such an honor to play against you guys❤
The air of anticipation about this world cup has just ramped up exponentially...wouldn't like to be France in the opening game. Siya has to be a nomination for player of the year. 🇿🇦
Good chat! Nobody thought the Springboks would dominate that much! Epic game and the respect these two teams have for each other is so good to see! 1 all this year!!
Wow! Truthfully, I really only got into rugby about 6 - 7 years ago, so not growing up with the game my technical knowledge in that area would be limited, but my knowledge in video is pretty extensive. Rolling 10 minutes plus in a single take; walking, sitting, turning the camera to include the social setting, keeping good framing, never missing a beat in the dialogue - well that is sweet! You're verbal delivery was not only well paced but structured to a T. If you are that good with production, I have to assume that your rugby knowledge is brick solid. Thank you! This was as enjoyable for me as watching a great game!
You’ve nailed it. As a South African - win or lose - New Zealand are class. I take more inspiration from NZ losing than anyone winning… That’s where you see true class. Last RWC, England removed their silver medals and ignored their fans on arrival back home. New Zealand came 3rd, respected those medals and thanked their fans. They are pure class, win or lose. Go Bokke!
I remember England thrashing us in 2012, 38-21. All Blacks then went on a journey to glory in 2015. Hoping the thrashing last night with galvanise the boys to push on. No explanation for Scott Barrett, completely brainless, and may well miss some matches. And the Boks were brilliant and should have won by more. Our South African brothers are tough aye 💪🏼 keep up the good work Tim.
100% too many people praising the downfall of the AB’s. The AB’s will bounce back as they always do. World Rugby needs healthy strong competition. It has that now with the top 5 or so countries maybe even 8 able to win the World Cup this year
if you underdtand the tragedy of South Africa as a failing state you will understand that he is a beacon of hope and what is possible That is what he stands for
If yiu understand that Madiba's house, in the heart of township ANC territory ,was set on fire by the locals and the entire populace stood and watched it burn and ne'er even lifted a finger to help - and that the main action resulting was feverish phone calls between Madiba in his well appointed house on prison grounds, with his personal chef etc and his colleagues in the Apartheid govt, talking about what on earth to do about the fact that he was the officially sanctioned and selected "beacon of hope" and yet... Madiba's consittuency all hated him ------- then you will understand how much common or garden South Africans are lied to and treated like idiots what with these puppets and 'symbols' they get foisted on them by their frankly evil corporate rulets - be it decade 1970s 1980s 1990s or 2020's .. plus ca change.
Yes, fully concur, The AB / Bok relationship is one of Utter Respect. There's very little animus, and that, only during a game. I am glad for the ABs that they suffered the defeat at the hands of the Boks and not someone else. The Boks know that that type of result can happen to any team on any day; it doesn't click, the ref sees all the little sins, the ball forgets you're also on the pitch and the easy kick finds a different path back to earth. One factor you should not discount is that of the Springbok coaching team; the RassieNaber guile, strategy, skills and ability to touch the inner, darkest and brightest parts of a player are much more than just simply good. Love your raw feedback.
Yes, as a South African, I’m one of them that has the ABs as 2nd favorite team (I recall becoming quite emotional at the ABs 2007 RWC defeat by France, not realizing at the time that France had just done us a major favor by eliminating our great Nemeses.) In the country there are still a massive number of fans who have the ABs at number 1. And if neither of these teams can win the tournament, Australia/Argentina had better come and rescue the situation. I don’t know if it’s just me or perhaps due to some perceived form of Southern Hemisphere brotherhood born from decades of Super-rugby and Tri-Nations/Rugby-Championship..
I’ll say this, Matt Carney is a cracking ref! He reffed that match with a consistent fair hand. Interesting that the AB fell foul of the rules so often. Is it different in the southern hemisphere? How great was it to hear the home of English rugby so full and noisy.
Yeah I think refs are starting to ref AB’s more fairly now days… Richie was a master of playing that grey zone, the game now is much harder to play that grey zone… So stoked for the Bokke but any team that under estimates the AB’s during a World Cup does so at own peril
@@iallso1 that’s cool to hear… considering apparently there were alot of Springbok supporters there I guess it highlights the respect they have for the AB’s
Very good content as always Tim. I believe one of the reasons the ABs came up short is because the referee was on top of things and didnt let them get away with anything. They were called out and that broke their rhythm.
Agree with you 100%. Thank you for this classy top shelf commentry. Really such a joy listening to you while seeing normal English daily life as well. Long may you continue. From a South African fan subscribed being a Springbok supporter enjoying the African sun.
It was a great game and will be remembered for a long time. But I just want to say that this is a brilliant summary of things! Such a great video! Non-biased, great! I really enjoyed the video! Thank you.
As bad as these warm up games are in terms of injuries/suspensions, I think this game showed how important they are. Boks had Wales a week ago and battle hardened, AB’s looked like they haven’t played in a while. AB’s still one of the favourites for WC I think. But a good win for Siya and the boys. 🇿🇦
Love the commentary Tim. Honest fair and off the cuff. To bad about the flight. I think SA has got a new favorite REF. What was pleasing for me was how much the Boks completed the AB line out and Libbok confidence boost in his 1st game against ABs.
Thanks I agree with everything you said! Greetings from Cape Town, Bok fan of course. I must say I'm excited by how well coached and managed this Bok team is.. I think the key to their success is the players are respected and treated like the top sportsmen they are.. What you're seeing is their creativity is freed up within a very strong structure, and amazing teamwork, where all are heard. The essence of the Kolisi phenomenon is that his journey from extreme poverty to become a beloved leader and hero in our national sport has been fostered by Rassie Erasmus.. Just a brilliant person manager and motivator!
Agree with you about Scott and his taking out of Marx. Marx is a gentle giant and for him to be pissed shows that he knew what Scott did, and I don't think it should have been a yellow. Loved the game, thanks for vid
As a South African I really enjoy watching your videos and insights. Very humble and honest displaying your clear passion for the game. Hope your team England does well in the WC. Hopefully we can see a repeat of the 2019 WC final.
I loved your fluid and informed commentary, let's have more! Having played the game gives you an edge! Let's have lots more. This from near the Southern tip of Africa
I'm so glad I found your channel. I absolutely love your comments, they are fair and well considered and to my mind totally relevant. I want to make two points, firstly that you nail the value of Siya as a player and leader. He is special. Then about Barrett, he was disgraceful, there was clear malicious intent with what he did. He should not have the privilege to play any part in the 2023 WC.
Thanks for this video, I had a eve flight last night and missed the game. I'm new to this channel, but you given a good measured take on the game as always. Super!
I'm not surprised by South Africas Springboks...having spent the first 18 yrs of my life as a Cape coloured.... I've watched the springboks evolve from one token coloured into the springbok team you've just watched....if you look at the boks backline you can spot the answer.....and the answer is colour.... People of colour play a running game....white people play an up front game of attrition.... South Africa now is showing its peak because it has perfected that combination....that perfect combination ,where young men are selected for their strengths and talent.... I don't expect everyone to agree with me on this....but the best teams always strike the balance between the front and back....South African coaches have been slow to learn these lessons ,but they're learning it now....replacing seven front row players at the same time....is like replacing an engine of a car half way through a race....and everyone knows that a new engine can out perform an old one....it also allows the driver to drive the first engine harder in the beginning and to drive the second engine harder because it's only required to do half the distance...that's required of it in the race.... South Africa and NZ have the same level of ability.... However South Africa's players will grind out a career partially in Europe....while NZ players are playing Pacific tournaments.....we all know you get better by playing better opposition.... The biggest mistake NZ did was listen to Australia and call it quits on the super fifteen tournament....because it's players needed South Africa's opposition to drive them forward....and I believe that time will prove me to be correct.....the only country who can defend southern dominance from the north is South Africa....and once the south falls rugby will fall into a deep hole in the southern hemisphere.... The north has done it's homework on the south for years .....they've bought it's best players,it's best, coaches ,and staff and in time those purchases will bear fruit...and Sanzar will rew the day it broke up super fifteen for a mediocre Pacific tournament....because they destroyed southern hemisphere rugby
Great content. It was probably the best atmosphere I have ever experienced at a game. Sam Cane mentioned that the lineout was not going in straight. I was at the game so couldn't see it. I think you are right the AB's will bounce back. I don't rate Sam Cane, he has improved since he started but he is not in the mold of the classic AB open side, reference as far back as Zinzan, Cronfeld and Richie.
The ball was being thrown straight, that wasn't the issue. The complaint was about the lifters were dragging the South African jumper towards the All Blacks side of the line out side of the lineout while he was in the air. As it forced the AB's to engaged prematurely into a maul, which they were being penalized for.
@@pre-dawnraid9037yes, everybody knows how the Boks play but you? Bully them into mistakes and cards and then get backs moving? When we have the players, that is how the Boks roll for long long time
Well said! In the history of watching rugby, never in my life have a seen see such awesome kudos from AB and AB fan's. Scott may or may not got played on that. World cup rugby is back! Thanks AB fan's for showing recognition for the boks and across social media. Thank you New Zealand fans for being so awesome!
As a South African, I can only say to the All Blacks, dont drop your heads. This may could even be a blessing. I believe that 57-0 drubbing in 2017 that we suffered was probably the catalyst for us winning the WC 2 years later. It forced a rethink and many things changed, starting with the coaches. It may be a bit late for NZ so close to the WC, but they not in as bad a space as we were in 2017 and this loss affords them an opportunity to correct things. At the same time, the springbok players deserve a lot of credit and the coaches too. Its scary to think that probably the 2 best packs of forwards in world rugby at the moment play in the same team.
I love this high quality rugby channel. The Springboks vs All Blacks rivalry is legendary but don’t sell yourself short. As a South African I am always glued to the tele when England play France. That historically is also a great rivalry. Enjoy your trip to South Africa mate.
If Damian De Allende is picked over Andre against Scotland, we riot. All other 3 centres have been amazing. Kriel, Andre and Canan. Damian has been completely average
Idk how DDA doesn’t lose his shirt over this game. Every game Andre plays he looks better than the last, and the competition got better each game also. He deserves that shirt imo.
I totally agree about Barret. I think the massive upraw about farrell was caused by the repeated unpunished cases that were frustrating. I do believe barrett should recieve a red as well
ABs are class and AB fans g8 for the game! They’ll be back to remind us soon enough. In the mean time - hard not to enjoy the moment. Thanks for you enthusiastic commentary - indeed a rivalry for the ages.
I have been so happy, pleased and impressed by the respect shown in both directions by the South African and New Zealand fans. Incredible match, but everyone knows New Zealand will be back and should not be underestimated. But that respect is in stark contrast to a lot of what we see on the internet. Both awesome sides! (I'm a South African)
Very insightful summary of the game, thank you. A very important point you mentioned was Sam Cane as a captain. He just seems to lack what a captain needs, especially when NZ are put under pressure
Siya’s real strength is in his tackling. He just does it relentlessly and rarely misses. Historically all Bok packs have relied on a very high tackle rate from its loosies, whether it be Aj venter, Schalk Burger, juan smith or Siya and PSDT. They have been a cornerstone of any successful springbok forward pack. When you add a man mountain like Duane Vermeulen, to the equation, they become unstoppable
Love your channel and content mate. About your point on Scott Barrett. There’s no doubt he got it very wrong, but watching live it appeared he was attempting to clean out the player on the left, not Marx. He caught Marx on the way through. Still poor execution put not an intentional ‘cheap shot’. In the after game press conference Foz mentioned this and supported this view. On field it’s true his yellow wasn’t upgraded to red, potentially for this reason. Double yellow pushed Barrett’s card to red, but his first yellow was a ‘team’ card.. Seems harsh to me that a technical team card pushes a second yellow to red. Just my thoughts.
I agree with you on Barret. It was totally a cheap shot. Disgusted when they said it wasn't being given a straight red, meaning no citing! Absolute shambles from world rugby. Also, ref not blowing penelties against NZ during dominant SA scrums in the second half was ridiculous. The man looked like he had just stopped blowing certain penalties. ✌🏿❤️🇿🇦
I agree, 15 penalties in the first half, 6 in the second and the pack was MORE dominant in the last 40min. He definitely felt that it would be too much and that he would be criticized and allowed play to carry on.The only silver lining is, the NZ forwards will remember and will have to deal with it again. We just have to keep our heads down and work harder. Too many mistakes by the Boks, too many handling errors and not enough clean execution in the 22m. It was far from our highest potential

Congratulations. One of the best review on this match on the net. Well said unbiased and to the point. I bumped into this by accident Now I am looking forward to look at more of your work
It was incredible. I have never before seen a top team implode so catastrophically apart from England a couple of times in the past. I'd love to see these two meet again in a quarter finals which is now very possible. It will be interesting to see the Boks playing a Northern Hemisphere side. Despite the annihilation of the AB's, I have this niggling feeling about Scotland pulling off a surprise. We will see! The real fun is about to start. Excellent analysis Tim.
Agree on Scott Barret, He likes Cheap shots, off the Ball, man on the ground. Definitely should be a straight red.. it was not an accident, due to change of direction, etc.
When everything was going wrong for the ABs, I didn't spot any despondency or perturbation at all from the players. They really did not seem bothered at all which I find perplexing. I definitely wouldn't write them off and I wonder if the Boks have overplayed their hand. Plenty for Scotland and Ireland to prepare for now.
Got to say I agree with everything you've said here, it's not often that I can say that of videos on UA-cam. Subscribed and looking forward to your coverage during the world cup.
I'd agree about Scott Barret, but I think the key difference between this and the Owen Farrell saga is that in Farrell's case, the judiciary overturned a correct on-field decision - which is where the controversy stemmed from - this is important because it was just a regular incident until the decision was overturned, and that's when the 'outrage' began. It will be very easy for a judiciary to stick with the on-field decision in SB's case, and then very difficult for any appeal from WR. It was a cheap shot worthy of red, but I don't think there will be a similar 'circus' around this.
If those two meet in the quarter-finals which is very likely, the result and power game and physical dominance will be the difference again, South Africa will win the World Cup, they are the only team who's bench-front 5 is as good as the one starting the game.
Great comment. Saffas must enjoy the rare and stunning victory, but remember that it’s temporary sweetness is only possible through the elevated level of respect held for our greatest rivals.
Tim, thanks for all the updates. Will be following your podcasts at the world cup. You say it as it is. No dressing, which we all can appreciate. I am sorry that Scott Barrett let himself down. I agree with your comments in that regard. It will be a cause of concern during the world cup, if standards of discipline and punishment, are inconsistent. The dirty word "politics ", may influence certain decisions. That would be a shame for all participants. Especially now that the bunker rule allows sufficient time to examine carefully any incident referred, without the pressure of a huge crowd in the stadium, and the need to get on with the match. I would love to see a full review of this rule after the world cup, to see if it achieved its objective, and brings confidence back into the game regarding the performance of officials. I must say that I think that the standards of referring coming up to the world cup, has given me great confidence in their performance. I hope that I don't eat my words afterwards. Thanks Tim. Niall
Great analysis a Bok fan here, most rugby fans have written off SA in this world cup but I must say its good to go to it as an under dog we will show them flames
Springboks and the All Blacks are NR 1 enemies. We've been dealing with the All Blacks for 100 years now. We are so USE to the ill-discipline from their side and often gets overlooked especially by french referees. HOWEVER - we love and respect each other to death. We can't wait to go up against France or Ireland in the WC, but a Springbok and All Black final is heaven.
Long may this fantastic rivalry continue. The sporting world needs it and all rugby supporters ( neutral or not) appreciate this special bond between SA and NZ. Its a game that meant nothing in the great scheme of things, however both teams gave it their all like if it was a world cup final. Kolisi made a big deal of thanking all the fans that came out and supported both teams. Its a beautiful game in its most basic form, 30 plus players battering the hell out of each other and then have a protein shake together afterwards
Great analysis. I listened to Coles speak and I gained massive respect for the man. This rivalry is something else. Us Saffas and Kiwis love this but most of us will show respect to the other. I would not change it for the world. And you are right about Barrett. He should be handed a serious ban. He has done this before.
As a Bok supporter, I have to say this match ranks up there with the win against England in the last final. In both matches the Boks maintained their intensity and accuracy from start to finish. The fact that they are so seldom able to do just this is one of the issues that has always frustrated me as a supporter. On the AB win, something tells me, we certainly do not want to be facing them again soon. If anything, the humbling loss may just benefit them immensely. The Boks only ever won the RWC when no-one gave them a hope, and the ABs have fallen many times when entering the tournament as favorites. Friendly or not, I will savor this historical win, but my admiration and respect for the NZ way is unfazed..
You are a gent for saying, one of the great rivalries in all sport. Agree on Barret, he has been protected especially as Retallick is crocked, they would be in deep trouble. Bok management won't say a word though, and lucky Marx is so tough.
You right about Siya. And ill be blunt as to why he is loved so much. SA is a country with a lot of hurt from Aprtheid. Racial tensions still run high because they are being stoked by a minority who want to see SA burn. SA is a united country. Blacks and whites respect one another with the exception of the few who want tension. Siya is not just our captain. He is not just a brilliant player. He is also an ambassador for unity. And that why he brings this team together like no other captain could. Thats why we love him!
All blacks supporter and here: that was an eye opener for sure. The Springboks as a whole were imperious and they look scary for the RWC. So much talent and Moodie is an absolute superstar in the making. The All Blacks will come back and look at this game with an extremely critical eye. But my concern is that we don’t have a captain like McCaw or Reid. Cane is a fine player but compared to captains like McCaw, Wyn Jones or Kolisi who can influence the game by their presence and personality, he is found wanting. Barrett is a hard man but i‘m not so one eyed to call that clean out clumsy. He’s too athletic for that and that was a BS move from a veteran of a lot of SA-NZ tests. I would not be surprised if Fozzie gave Vaai the nod against France as a message. I do remember the Springboks putting England to the sword only to edge them out in a nail-biter in 2007. Great video, subscribed👍
Great review, mate. Yeah, I think Esterhuizen brings more to the table than De Allende. He's great and in form! Siya is a massive factor and he slotted in so well after his injury. I'm so relieved about that! Scott Barrett is a great player, but he has that dirty streak in him that always leads to trouble. I really hope he gets cited, as that was cynical and dangerous.
A few years back I just couldn't see what the coaches saw in Esterhuizen. To me he was a walking "knock-on". But it appears his recent work in Europe has seen him improve in the skills department..
I definitely agree with you about the Barret cheap shot being MUCH worse than the Farrel tackle. Anyone who's played the game knows that head contact isn't the only thing that can cause serious injury, despite what WR seems to think. And head contact (usually concussion and about 2 weeks out) is rarely as devastating as some other injuries like ACL or neck, with much longer recovery times. The cheap shot on Marx was way more dangerous than most high head collisions I have seen in the last couple of years. Charging into the neck and shoulder of someone who doesn't even know that you're coming, nevermind being in a position to protect himself, can be extremely dangerous. The brain isn''t the only part of the body that can suffer injury. Though, I think the major difference between the reactions to the Farrel and Barret incidents, is less about the actual action, and more about Farrel's card being downgraded and him not receiving a ban for something that has recently almost always been a ban. And the idea that the reason is because the RWC is upcoming.

Absolutely! Never take the Kiwi’s for granted. “Father of Dragons” 😅. Love it! I take it Kitshoff is the one dragon?
Siya is everything to South Africans. This whole team is just peaking at a perfect time. The players, coaching and medical staff. The Motherland applauded you.

Agree
As a Kiwi, I think you've nailed it mate. SA and Ireland, their next cabs off the rank mean they barely miss a beat whereas apart from a couple of positions we are not there with that depth. We couldn't bring on a bench, apart from at 9, to turn it around last night. Being down to 13 or 14 players was purely our own fault, the team has admitted that. The Boks were awesome, their 'two packs' were amazing and yeah, Siya is an icon. I think we'll still give this RWC a nudge but SA have set the bar now, they mean business, this is going to be some tournament.
You were all saying you were gonna win it two days ago. You’re an embarrassment.
❤❤❤❤
watch Ireland v samoa and you will change your mind.

I agree, Springbok fan but I have so much respect for NZ, world class sportsman!! Siya is a soilder for Jesus, Jesus is his calmness
As a Bok supporter. I did not expect this kind of performance from Both sides. Even when we scored it felt like NZ were always on the verge of scoring back but it never materialised and that confused me right up to the end of the match. Still shocked the next day
The pendulum swings yet again between these two teams. Loved the passion at twickenham. Such a powerful spectacle of rugby.
Springbok supporter here - you are absolutely one of my favorite rugby channels, really enjoy your stuff mate!!
Totally agree!
Absolutely my man, my skin is crawling with excitement!!
Agree with all that. Still a bit worried about the goal kicking which could be the chink in the armour…
Agree with you on Scott Barrett. That was worthy of a citing, even if it wasn't upgraded to yellow by the bunker. "Tackles" or "clearouts" like that have to be eradicated from the game.
That’s still possible right?
Ref said it is his second yellow card and will mean he goes off on a red card, but he still made the cross-arms of "yellow card on review". I think he will be cited.
@@tayodavy6763it stayed a yellow he has not been cited. And Scott Barrett wanted to move marx who was lying on our side of the ruck. I guess next time he will have to ask him nicely to move, because he couldn't have got lower
If you look at Owen's body up to and after the 'tacle' you can see that he put every muscle in his body behind his shoulder. It was intentional from the start
How about Vermuelen punching Jacobsen in the head 4 times with swinging blows in the ruck, does that get a citing too? I guess not
That thing that you can't quantify about Siya Kolisi is that he literally came from nothing, born into poverty and knows what it's like to go to bed hungry. He has incredible mental strength and pure determination that comes from building from nothing. 👑🦁
He also knows the Lord...he and his wife are strong in their Christian faith... this goes a long way with personality and behaviour....
It is more than that, he attests it to his faith in Christ.
They sometimes only had sugar in water as food.
Well said. Let’s call it “Siyaness”. He brings the best out of his team.
They are good friends also.
I'm new to your channel and you are one of the few guys that speaks from the heart. Appreaciate. Blessings from a Sunny South Africa 🇿🇦👍👊
I think Ardie Savea should captain the All Blacks. His passion and leadership shone through throughout that game. Sam Cane just goes missing.
True, but he had a poor game yesterday. He was barely seen in the game. Not half as good this year as he was last year and he was pretty blunt in the Rugby Championship too
Being bok fan 100 % agree. .
@@loughrey101 Really? He's the AB forward who stood out the most for me.
Rassie has been building to this worldcup for 4 years with basically the same players, don't know why everyone is so surprised with this result, all blacks will probably still reach semis or final
I also think savea is the true current all blacks captain 🙌🏿
Cannot love this monologue enough. The views, the insights, the indiscriminate carnage of honesty. 🔥
As for the reactions of fans from both sides, it's always been this way. Both the Boks and ABs have spoken for years about on the field rivalries and off field friendships. There's also great respect. See you on the flipside ABs ✌💚💛🇿🇦
Your 100% right. Reactions, both negative and positive come from both support bases all the time.
100% Agree about Scott Barret, he went straight off his feet into the ruck when the ruck was almost over, lead with the shoulder into the shoulder and above area of a player on the ground. To me that's a red all day, it's just about textbook of what not to do.
Yep, you can totally see Barrett spot Marx on the ground and target him.
Yeah, that was dirty and ugly! If he gets cited it will serve him right. We don't need that in rugby.
NZ living rent free in your head.?@@quentinadkins432
Respect. 🇿🇦🇳🇿
100% too many people praising the downfall of the AB’s. The AB’s will bounce back as they always do. World Rugby needs healthy strong competition. It has that now with the top 5 or so countries maybe even 8 able to win the World Cup this year
We also went undefeated the year after that loss
@@puregrunt I would settle for that this time around 🤞
if you underdtand the tragedy of South Africa as a failing state you will understand that he is a beacon of hope and what is possible That is what he stands for
If yiu understand that Madiba's house, in the heart of township ANC territory ,was set on fire by the locals and the entire populace stood and watched it burn and ne'er even lifted a finger to help - and that the main action resulting was feverish phone calls between Madiba in his well appointed house on prison grounds, with his personal chef etc and his colleagues in the Apartheid govt, talking about what on earth to do about the fact that he was the officially sanctioned and selected "beacon of hope" and yet...

The best rugby content on the internet!
Love your work mate.
Springbok supporter.
How great was it to hear the home of English rugby so full and noisy.
makes a difference when the ref penalises NZ for infringements, not like the Irish ref last time out
Yeah I think refs are starting to ref AB’s more fairly now days… Richie was a master of playing that grey zone, the game now is much harder to play that grey zone…
So stoked for the Bokke but any team that under estimates the AB’s during a World Cup does so at own peril
The TMO reffed the match.
It was great to hear a Haka at Twickenham without fans booing it.
You maje an excellent point regarding Siya, he certainly has made a huge impact on the team since his return
You're a true fan of the game, love to see it
Well done!! Accurate reporting! You could even feel the atmosphere through the tv !
Love the commentary Tim. Honest fair and off the cuff. To bad about the flight. I think SA has got a new favorite REF. What was pleasing for me was how much the Boks completed the AB line out and Libbok confidence boost in his 1st game against ABs.
I really appreciate the video's Tim. The effort you put in is obvious to see! Kudos!
Loved the game,thanks for vid
Good channel and fully agree with you on Scott Barrett. Pieter Steph Du Toit was a yellow card but Barrett was red any day of the week.
Got a sub and a like mate, Scott Barrett knew what he was doing it was to hurt and not to clear the ball.
Thanks for this video, I had a eve flight last night and missed the game. I'm new to this channel, but you given a good measured take on the game as always. Super!
Love your vids. Great analysis, good all around knowledge and always very respectfull. A French fan
My god. That was one of the most jaw dropping games I have ever seen. The way the boks just walked the all blacks backwards in the scrum
They scrummed against 7 men
@@pre-dawnraid9037 that were crumpling at times... I noted the Boks were winning scrums when they were scrumming with 7...
They were winning the scrums before the cards as well
@@pre-dawnraid9037yes, everybody knows how the Boks play but you? Bully them into mistakes and cards and then get backs moving? When we have the players, that is how the Boks roll for long long time

Really enjoy the way you go about your programme : its great, thanks ~ keep it going full on 👊🔥❗️
Just came across your channel, so that algo is working 😉 great
comments on an awesome game. (Saffa here). Keep up the great work mate 👍👍👍
Andre is currently better than Damion.
Has been for a while
I genuinely preferred the moodie-Andre combo a lot more than kriel and de allende
I agree...
First time I come accross your videos. Great views and commentary. Keep them coming.
How Deallende is still the first choice for 12 is astonishing.
I agree about the scrums. The ref just stopped blowing.
What about the cheap shot of the 14 on cam roigard after he had scored the try. Head contact and all.
@@barneyboy2008 First of all Cam was wearing the 22 Jersey if we must be pety. I watched in 10 times because I knew the false accusations and excuses will start flying. At every angle in slow motion there is nothing in your claim.

Ur the best analyst on the podcast n U got yourself a like and subscription good sir. From a good ole Irish boyo!
Excellent analysis Tim.
reminded me of the 2007 All Black / France game where the French just ran over theAB
Great analysis, spot on!
Agree on Scott Barret, He likes Cheap shots, off the Ball, man on the ground. Definitely should be a straight red.. it was not an accident, due to change of direction, etc.
Agree. He tries too hard to be the hard man ... And it keeps failing.
Love your content mate
Well spoken man. I loved this view and honesty. Subscribed and following in future.
As a Springbok girlie and a staunch rugby supporter, i like your assessment - its balanced and easy to listen to. Well done
Thanks Tim.
Niall
It is anyone's WC. I am so excited for it! Let's go!
Great video, well done! Regards from RSA
Great analysis a Bok fan here, most rugby fans have written off SA in this world cup but I must say its good to go to it as an under dog we will show them flames
I love this mans unbiased and educated views.👌👍
Everything that could go wrong went wrong with AB and Bokke worked their Butts off. What a game, lekker Bokke❤❤
You have an even keeled view on the game. Really good content...
You are a gent for saying, one of the great rivalries in all sport. Agree on Barret, he has been protected especially as Retallick is crocked, they would be in deep trouble. Bok management won't say a word though, and lucky Marx is so tough.
The word for Siya Kolisi is “talismanic.” He’s just has an amazing presence on the pitch.
Another great video Tim. Great to see the subscribers ticking up. Best on YT.
Thank you for honest and balanced report 👏
Played against Wilmslow as a kid for Altrincham Kersal & St. Ambrose as a school. Thanks for the memories Tim! ❤️
Spot on about Barrett. That was bang out of order. He could’ve put Marx out the tournament lying on the floor like that.
Nice one bro. I love England too. I lived there for 3 years. Thx for the commentary.
Love the content...always knowledgeable and honest!!!
