But you are obviously an Earth person. You love the things that grow and walk and crawl there. I can't wait for you to get out of that nest and back on firm ground. Peace.

Hello from a new city 🙂 started my master's this week and today I found a beautiful used bookstore I can go to near me, also I have had no internet in my building for days so I'm very happy to have an emmie video today now that it's back 📚
i unfortunately read Ladies paradise a few month ago ! i am so sad i couldn't join the book club for this month ! it was also my first zola and oh my god i loved it ! i know you will have a great time with it ! the protagonist can be an irritant because she is so nice and gentle... but the rest of the characters are sometimes heart-warming or pain in the ass. zola is impressive with his descriptions you really move in the store with the crowd that is a character itself ! and so much more !!! i am french and zola is a big deal and everyone keeps telling me that this isn't his best work, i can't wait to read more !! and i don't know if you know that Ladies paradise is part of a series that is considered as one of the biggest literary project "les rougon-macquart". zola wanted to write about the parisian (french) society of his time so if you like "Ladies paradise" you will have so much more to read in the same "spirit" even if they have different topics
I read a few from that series and I want to read more. But I'm afraid that some are more heavy in terms of the social issues presented and that I won't like them. Germinal is said to the the best of them. I liked Au bonheur des dames best, I think, seems the most light-hearted from all I read. I also liked l'Assommoir a lot, but it's a bit heavier. Reading them in order would also be something. 😅😅 Greetings from Romania. 😊
im finally catching up with all your vlogs and so funny at 37:40 the first sip of good coffee after a while is so good! also, saw you have a Nespresso machine now! I feel their decaf tasted pretty much the same as the reg pods! I usually have one of their decaf pods in the afternoon when i crave for a second or third cup of coffee but dont want to over-consume in caffeine!
You make old age a bit more bearable. And I joined the bookclub thing just now. I picked phantasma as well. That was unexpected. Thanks for the 5 dollar book. You are such a sweety.
im living through this cold weather you're getting, it is unfortunately getting very hot in australia. also speaking of swans, i think you'd love swanfolk by kirstin omarsdottir! its a lovely icelandic novel full of magical realism and dystopic elements
Awww it's been years since I've been to Stratford and I miss it so much. Thanks for sharing little tidbits of your trip with us - it was a wonderful trip down memory lane. And I'm so excited to see what you think of The Halloween Tree! I read Something Wicked This Way Comes last year and the prose was absolutely delicious, so I've been considering following it with Bradbury's other halloween book :) thanks for the great video Emma
I stayed in Stratford a few years back. I never saw anything nice though. I was hiding out in a motel in February (very cold, very snowy) as I was trying to flee back to the uk to get as far away as possible from my crazy ex mother-in-law in Kitchener. It’s a whole story 🤣 Now I wish it had been in the autumn! 😊
if you want info on Lourdes its a famous pilgrim spot for Catholics , i really want to visit sometime myself , seems like who ever owned that before was catholic who went to loads cool places in France , the grotto is where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to a local woman , its fascinating. thank you for video cheered me up , hope your doing well.
Loved watching Grendel in the window. Cute little guy ❤ Also good luck on your cooking endeavors. Sounds like a fun one. Would like to see what you try your hands at
Hey Emma, i had a premonition about ur video coming today. Ohh its like a blessing. Its soo good to watch ur vlogs after days of continuous online classes. ❤ You Emma.
Hey, the love for coffee or I may say addiction is my habit too. I usually drink 3 cups a day. Which is nice cos studies... But it causes sleeplessness. Yeah BUT THAT LINE WHERE U SAID" DRINKING COFFEE GAVE THE SAME SATISFACTION AS SMOKING", I deeply concur with that.
13:47 when you showed the belljar with mushrooms in it and talked about the way you love the theme of preservation of objects it immediately made me think of Yoko Ogawa's book ''kusuriyubi no hyoho'' (hopefully that's the title they used in the english edition 'cause I read it in italian and I'm not sure tbh😅). I think you would love that story, if you haven't read it already of course 🍄
Woah, what a weird coincidence! Just earlier today I was looking on Pango Books for Ray Bradbury books (I love Something Wicked This Way Comes by him) and I happened to see that book! the Halloween Tree! I read what’s it about and wanted to buy it, and here you are showing it too!! Maybe it’s a sign that I’m supposed to purchase it 😂❤

it was also my first zola and oh my god i loved it ! i know you will have a great time with it ! the protagonist can be an irritant because she is so nice and gentle... but the rest of the characters are sometimes heart-warming or pain in the ass. zola is impressive with his descriptions you really move in the store with the crowd that is a character itself ! and so much more !!!
i am french and zola is a big deal and everyone keeps telling me that this isn't his best work, i can't wait to read more !! and i don't know if you know that Ladies paradise is part of a series that is considered as one of the biggest literary project "les rougon-macquart". zola wanted to write about the parisian (french) society of his time so if you like "Ladies paradise" you will have so much more to read in the same "spirit" even if they have different topics
I switched from coffee to matcha latte in the morning. I get the Ujido brand and its sooo good! Sending ❤. I quit bc it affects my anxiety so much 😢.
Emma, i loved this vlog so much!!! I had some photo albums like yours. Amazing postcards! Thank you for all the beauty! 💖💙✨✨
The way I screeched when I saw Stratford pop up. Stratford my babygirl
I love Stratford! Also one of my favorite towns here 🎉
Great vlog and happy autumn as well📚☕🫖🧛🦇🎃💀
You make old age a bit more bearable. And I joined the bookclub thing just now. I picked phantasma as well. That was unexpected. Thanks for the 5 dollar book. You are such a sweety.
Really needed this video :) rough week. Thank you!!
awe man - sending you a much better week next week!
im living through this cold weather you're getting, it is unfortunately getting very hot in australia. also speaking of swans, i think you'd love swanfolk by kirstin omarsdottir! its a lovely icelandic novel full of magical realism and dystopic elements
How can we skip the ad part when it’s this cool 🙌😂
Emma, try half calf. When you brew just mix half decaf, half regular. You gotta strat somewhere 😊
I said this in the previous vlog and I'll say it again the homebody vlogs are your best & coziest
Heyyyyy, Emma! ❤ I clicked soon as the notification came.
hi lovely!!
The London videos are just ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Emma, I need some fall book recommendations 👀🍂
stratford is the best! i saw twelfth night there this summer and it was so good 🤍
if you want info on Lourdes its a famous pilgrim spot for Catholics , i really want to visit sometime myself , seems like who ever owned that before was catholic who went to loads cool places in France , the grotto is where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to a local woman , its fascinating. thank you for video cheered me up , hope your doing well.
❤ You Emma.
haha love that - hope you're getting some good rest now
Hey, the love for coffee or I may say addiction is my habit too.
Those sticky photo albums have acid in them which will eat at your photos. So don't put old or precious ones in there.
Your french accent is incredible, I'm impressed. This is coming from a French Québec girl.
Maybe it’s a sign that I’m supposed to purchase it 😂❤
i’d like to imagine that The Book Man has a sort of santa clause-esque magic. where he just pops up on the first week of every month
Happy September indeed(my birthday month)! The Shakespeare place was gorgeous and your shots of the wee birds.❤
ooh happy early birthday !!
@@emmiereads Thank you Emma!🥳
12:38 Maybe they're not oven-roasted. If they are raw u can oven-roast them at home.☺
And dates can be dried. Hope this helps!
