  • I’ve just finished testing the brand new Sigma 60-600mm Sport Lens… the world’s first and only 10x zoom lens for mirrorless cameras and let me tell you, it’s pretty incredible how versatile I found this lens to be! As Sigma has been releasing some pretty great lenses recently for mirrorless cameras, I wanted to do a little comparison between the famous Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens and the two newer Sport line lenses… the 60-600 and 150-600. This videos dives into the differences between these lenses and what’s the best choice for you.

Thanks for the comparison! I really wish that canon would open up rf mount so I could try a lens like this!

Yea I wish they would have as well! Unfortunately Canon has made it difficult for third-party manufacturers to create RF mounts though so it’s unlikely we will see it anytime soon

You must have a bad copy of the Sigma C lens because mine isn't soft on the outsides and this is my second one. I can't even tell sometimes if I took some shots with the Sigma or my Nikon 200-500. I've also had the 60-600mm and they are all pretty much the same on image quality, I have to look at the file info on the pics to see what I shot with it.

I've been considering a 2nd sony camera body so I can take my wider angle lens out in the field along side my 200-600mm, but I have always been told to invest in lenses over camera bodies so I have been hesitating. This lens pretty well fills in both of those setups in one, with a bonus of being able to mount to a gimbal even at 60mm! I have been wanting to try some wider angle wildlife photography so this is an option I will have to look into, it will also be a cheaper option compared to the A7 IV I was thinking of getting

Glad I caught you at the right time then! Yes I’d highly recommend going with the one lens setup rather than two cameras as well 🙌🏻 take it from my experience, it’s really annoying lugging around two cameras for different things all the time 😂😂

@@canonlensesandcameras4425 all good, I ended up investing in a Sony A1 🙂 just took it on a trip to the middle of Australia looking for rare birds and had some amazing opportunities where I just held down the shutter at 30fps and didn't miss a moment of these very brief encounters.

Awesome! Had to walk away from Panasonic after years of use for wildlife. Nikon Z9 and Olympus OM1 are amazing! Hope Panasonics new Phase detection helps out wildlife photographer - just feel Panasonic have forgotten about photographers and more for videographers.

Yea it’s been a rough road for wildlife photographers during the past few years with Panasonic… I have high hopes with the new phase detection! Can’t wait to get my hands on it

good video I must admit as some one who has tested the 150-600 lenses including Tamron I found stabilisation very under impressive. But I have to say I found the C sharper than the sport by a hair and their is some weather ceiling on the 150-600 c. I tend to test lenses compared to each other on test charts for the ultimate testing method's. I agree with your assumption that the sigma lenses are decent in the corners as my older canon 100-400 II did suffer in the corners as such I found the sigma lenses sharper many disagree with me on this but the tests are conclusive. One area you have not discussed and this is important is where the lenses loose their aperture.
The sigma 150-600 c loses the 5.6 at around 437mm where the sport 150-600 is around 360mm I am curious when the 60-600 looses it at ? I find it very strange that the sigma 150-600 c holds onto its aperture of 5.6 longer than the sport especially considering the sport is 105mm vs 95mm on the c. I found both sigma lenses were sharper over the tamron g1 lens in general. However I recently retested the tamron g2 lens vs the sigma c and found the sigma was a tad bit sharper over the tamron g2 lens. I was one of the first youtubers to test the 150-600 lenses back in the day when they came out. I also compared auto focus on the eos R and found the tamron way slower than the sigma this is probably and issue with the RF mount but its a important fact. one thing I did want to ask have you noticed any issues with pulsing on the r5/r6 cameras as this is a know issue as these lenses are adapted. Many have complained about this and until these lenses are allowed to be on a rf mount I dont this this issue getting fixed any time soon.

It's NOT the world first and only 10X zoom lens for mirrorless cameras. There have been loads of 10X for full frame and other sensor sizes, like the Sony FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3, Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 or the Panasonic Lumix 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 and even a 16.7X Olympus M.Zuiko 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3 for Micro Four Thirds.

The term "Worse" always communicates the assumption that both are bad, and one is worse.... just sayin man
