Google Home Tea Timer

Not a lot of Google Nest device owners know this trick. Google introduced cool themed timers that are context aware.
Depending on what you’re timing you see a fun little image on Google Nest Hub or Hub Max and hear a different timer alarm sound other than the standard timer.

I've been using this context aware timer feature for quite a while now. When feeding my chickens it hears the word chicken and plays a tune sung by chickens after setting the timer and also when the timer expires.
Unfortunately a month or two ago, it stopped playing the special tune when the timer expires. However it still plays the tune when the timer is set. It's frustrating because that is how I used to keep track of which timer had expired when multiple timers are set simultaneously.
I'm curious if I'm the only one with this glitch that seems to have occurred after an "improvement" update.

No, I don't think you're alone. Certainly the custom sounds seemed to have gone away. It might have something to do with changes behind the scenes as Google migrates to Gemini... but we'd need Google to confirm.
