Adam Stone is definitely one of the best. Always enjoy the broadcasts that he is on.
This podcast was really entertaining, and I enjoyed hearing Michelle’s perspective on things. Great podcast!
Exactly right Meesh! The trajectory of pickleball from what it was 4-5 years ago to now is exponential AND so is the broadcasting, camera work, even the court set up. Watch old pickleball broadcasts and you had the front row audience sitting on the court where players could not even attempt an ATP. And no one wants to hear Weinbach call a match anymore. So much more professional now. I still think they need to give players more room from the service line to the LED screen behind them The LED is too close still, IMO. Anyway, love your interaction with DF and love his analysis. I've learned a great deal of strategy from your questions and his responses. Im a 4.5 player. Thanks

sorry, this segment didn't do much for me. Also, technical problems with the echoing and y'all talking over each other. She is correct - she does talk a lot.
She needs to follow her own advice. She talks over more rallys than most commentators, She has little substantive knowledge of plays of the game, adds too many meaningless comments like where players are staying, what they had for dinner and if she talks about Thomas Wilson’s health and his adopted baby one more time, omg!!! She does little to no analysis of the game, just adds factoids and gossip.
I was a fan until she said there's minimal strategy in pickleball 😢
Because she has no knowledge of the game.

Great interview and great to learn more about Michelle. Two questions for Meech - 1) why can’t the PPA have the correct score shown on the screen. Arguably the most important part of showing the match. The PPA is many times behind or wrong with the on screen score. 2. Why does Meech call some players only by their last name and others, like “Catherine Parenteau” by their full name when commentating?
Still hard to listen to. Too much cheerleading & bias . Call as it happens, give credit to all players not just the top players. You & Fleming have too much worshipping to Ben & AL
Being able to fully understand dink patterns, reset decisions, speed up spots and other nuances of the game require comments during the point. There’s too much that happens during the point in a pro level match for commentators to mention in between points. Understanding things like dink patterns makes long, slow points that much more interesting; especially to the average viewer who probably thinks it’s a boring point. Not talking during the point us a silly rule.
Wow guys you are always stepping it up, wasn't a huge fan of Michelle before(she wasn't bad but my not favorite )but this interview has really made me a fan, thanks as usual!
David Fleming needs to be banished from announcing. He is obnoxious. I personally think that Collin Johns, once he retires from playing, will become the best announcer/analyst. He is cerebral and well spoken. Unlike the buffoon Dave Fleming who is always talking about "pancakes and syrup" when speaking of the Newman forehand
You guys need a sound engineer to come in and help you set up your studio properly. In general there was a hollow quality to your voices. Plus, at times there was some serious echoing (feedback?) going on.
LMAO she talks crap about bad announcing?? Talking through points like she did for so long not even knowing the sport. I can't believe she played from 2004 and a 5.0?. Early announcing was like she never saw the game before. She still asks questions of her color announcer before next point starts forcing them to talk through points. MEESH last tournament asked Ben Johns live "how did you come back from 11-3 deficit"? Ben was like what did you just ask me? I am not buying it sorry. Her fav saying 50 times a broadcast Ben John's world's number 1 player.

Dave is always trying to be witty with analogies and metaphors. Gets old.

If Meech would shift her perspective a bit about thinking people who have things to say about her broadcasts are trolls and actually try to improve based off of the criticisms she’d be much better received. For instance, stop talking during the points and don’t say anything if there is nothing of value to say would go a long way to making listening to her more tolerable. She should take her own advice. She has gotten better so far this year though.

Nice of you to get the worst ppa commentator on your show. Ask her why she feels the need to talk the entire time she’s on the mic?
She's great, IMO. She doesn't talk during points and provides insightful comments about the players and points. The commentators have really gotten so much better in the last few years. They were awful 4+ years ago.

@@danhoen4129 omg! How many games have you watched. She is the worst about not knowing when to stop talking. Talks thru the entire game.
@@victoriasoden7767 Quite a few actually. She does a heck of a lot better than virtually all of the commentators from several years ago. They'd comment on every other shot like we couldn't see what was happening. "Jay with a nice drop on the backhand side.." Compared to what we used to have, the production quality and commentating are light years better than what we used to have.

Listening to Mesh and Dave compared to the previous insufferable persons is not even comparable!! They are fantastic and getting better!
Dave Fleming, the worst announcer in any sport anywhere in the world. He is so annoying I have to turn off the volume. Can they not get anyone else.
IMO her and Dave are the best commentating duo and it isn't close.

The main reason most players don’t watch pickleball is the unprofessional announcer & poor video production
Everytime I want to maybe like Tubby Miller he calls someone a tool. That is a such a douchy thing rightttttt and tubby millers commentary was
